I purchased this Nikon camera and lens combo as part of a do it myself bundle to begin a new hobby. Although the camera is rather complex, I am becoming familiar with one feature at a time and so far so good. This model has been replaced by a newer model, so get the savings while still available!

Extremely easy to use and takes outstanding pictures!!!

I love my camera but it has a horrible design problem that has deleted some of my most important pictures : my daughter's award ceremony @ school, vacation pics. There is a button to the left of the trash/delete button that if you accidentally press it, it will delete EVERYTHING YOU HAVE TAKEN IN THE LAST SESSION! I don't know what that button is for still but I have press it twice now and I am so mad. Why would you put any button that would delete pics right there? Other than that it takes great pics, and has a little much to learn for a beginner but doable. I did buy the long range lens for $200. and that take equally great pics. I want to buy the wide lens. Also, when I bought this I was told at the store that I could get the red colored camera ordered which is what I wanted after I bought this black one but the sales person knew I was taking this one on vacation..hmmm. Then when I got home I noticed the receipt said no returns on electronics so I felt duped into purchasing the black one. I didn't realize the person had not even take my name or any info to order the red camera that I wanted. . So I kept the black one. Such bad business ethics from a sales person but I can't imagine anything could've been done after the fact.I had used the camera.

This camera is awesome! I am a beginner photographer and this camera makes it simple to use the automatic modes while I learn to use the more advanced modes! The built in wifi is worth every penny!

my wife and I are new to the SLR world and have found this camera extremely easy to use as beginners and it offers a lot of options to use as we grow. We really like how it allows us to load the pictures to our phones using wifi making sharing easy.

We discussed what it was that I like to take photos of and he instructed me on all the options at this camera comes with and how they related to what I like to take photos of. So far he has been absolutely right.

Ok, I upgraded from a D5200 so I already knew about most of the menus and settings. The difference in picture quality is great. I am extremely pleased. In addition, the new collapsible lens is nice. It makes the camera really compact and yet takes great pictures.
