This is my third Nikon DSLR and it is the best one yet. High megapixels for super clear images, video capabilities, built in WiFi and some fun effects settings makes this the most versatile camera I have ever had. I have only taken a little over 300 pictures so far but they have all turned out really well. I plan to have this camera for years to come and look forward to seeing what I come up with!

I'm an amateur photographer just starting out and this is my first DSLR and I couldn't be happier with my choice. My Nikon D5300 takes great, sharp pictures; very colorful. It's got great focus with the 18-55mm lens, pretty fast, too. It struggles a bit when in dim lighting, but other than that it's awesome. I'm now taking photography classes and practicing every day on my own and I would highly recommend this camera for any beginner that's got an interest in photography. I previously had a Nikon 1 J1 and I mostly used it to take pictures at music concerts I went to and I was pretty pleased with it, I'm a Nikon guy all the way.

Had been looking to upgrade my equipment for a special event and the package offered was well suited to my needs. The camera is easy to use and is ready to go out of the box. Additional equipment to enhance the product are readily available and competitively priced. Appropriate for both the novice and advanced user and all levels in between.

Nikon never lets me down with the quality of their product. I traded up from a 3200 and feel it was worth it.

The D5300 makes good initial choices, but as you look at the initial photo you can make refined choices and try again. I imediately got it a 55-200 mm lens.

This is my first camera. This camera is great for a beginner like me! Takes really great shots & its very user friendly. I would definitely recommend to someone like me that was looking for a camera to take great shots that did not have a single clue what I was shopping for. I use my camera to take pics of classic vehicles and takes great details on the vehicles.

The sales people were great! The camera is also! I got two hundred off on the price for an open box sale. The camera and gear which came with it are all brand new and work perfectly. I bought several items along with the camera and the sales people were very helpful and knowledgeable.

Easy to learn, fantastic quality and feels great (not too heavy, not too light)

I love this camera. The internal WIFI is so handy and makes transferring pictures from the dslr to my iphone a breeze. I also love the tilt screen...some reviews called this "amateurish" when I was researching this, but being able to place the camera on the ground to take ground level photos or angle it up to take vertical pictures of buildings or monuments makes this option a no-brainer. All in all, I would definitely recommend this camera.

This camera is a fantastic entry level DSLR, it performs just as well as my D7000 if not better.

Love this camera! I've wanted a Nikon DSLR for a while and ended up always coming back to this one so I got it. Awesome price, quality,options and effects! Not too heavy. Perfect for non pros and semi-pros! I expect to have this camera for a long time! Only reason for 4 stars is the buggy built-in WiFi. It connects fine and works great with the Nikon app even though the camera wont say its connected. Your iPhone needs to be on Airplane mode with WI-FI enabled to connect to the app and camera. Nikon really doesn't say anything about this and offers no update. But all in all, I love it!

Would give it 5 stars except that the built in flash will not function as a master when using multiple off camera flash units Also it is not weather resistant. other wise it is in my opinion a camera that can be used by professional photographers with outstanding results.
