Great camera- has many options. The best buy monthly camera classes helps learn all the capabilities. Reasonably priced which allows for buying a variety of lenses.

What can I say about this camera that isn't great! From its overall image quality, to the new touch interface, to the improvements over the D5300, Nikon has gave a good camera even better specs. The D5500 does suffer from Nikon's usual entry level problems; lack of exposure simulation, somewhat slow to autofocus in live view, inability to change aperture in LV, and noisy autofocus motor while recording. That being said, the photos that I've taken so far have been sharp and in focus wit h great colors. Recommended for any person looking to get into photography.

I was trying to decide if I really needed the touchscreen capability of the D5500 over the D5300. Yes. Yes I do. What a GREAT camera for the price.
