I bought this camera to replace my D90. Planned use was for family and travel photography. I had some lenses already, so I bought the kit with the pancake lens. I immediately took this camera on a 10 day trip to Europe - and I was extremely happy with (i) ease of use (ii) quality of photo (iii) the weight (iv) durability and (v) features. I highly recommend this camera.

Ive bought two of these D5500's and I'm completely satisfied with both. They are great for landscape photography because it has great color contrasting and exposure is fantastic on it. For portraits with a 50mm f.18 or 35mm f1.8 it is also great getting a great depth of field. It has many options in the menu to fix long exposure noise, or high ISO noise which helps a lot. There are buttons and dials that help change the Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO and they are easy to use. Does have WiFi capabilties but you need the Nikon App for it. HD 1080p with 60 frames per second video is great. A couple problems with it, is that you can't change video settings in manual mode, autofocus in video is not too great, theres a bit of hunting in the shots. Overall a great photography camera for landscapes and portraits. Its not bad for sports and wildlife photography. Definitely a great buy!

I am new to DSLRs as I have used point and shoots or iPhone for photos before this purchase. With that being said I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Everything is easy to use and not intimidating as this was the reason I haven't gone DSLR before. The resolution is fantastic and video has been crisp. Friends and family who have older DSLRs are very impressed and are now looking to upgrade their cameras! I am happy with the purchase and am disappointed I didn't get one sooner.

I really am enjoying this camera. I haven't been using it long but I have figured out at least the basic functions. I love that it has wi-fi built in that allows you to download pictures right off the camera to your IOS device thru the Nikon app and then you can choose which pictures to save to the phone. No connections or wires needed...so easy! Love the large screen and the touch screen features. Can't wait to play with it more!

I learn more cool things about this awesome WIFI enabled touch screen dream camera!! It is easy to change lenses and it takes amazing pictures. There are so many amazing control features and it syncs to your cell phone with easy pic transfer options. So happy!!!

I was looking to improve my pictures. This takes great pictures and I can easily move them to my phone. It is easier than my phone but has the ability to do so much more.

I was looking to buy a DSLR and found this camera at best buy on a discounted price. So immediately I purchased it to give it a try. I have been using it for a few days now and I can say I am completely satisfied with this camera. I am mostly using the modes in the camera and testing them out. From looks of it I can say it is easy to use and will be a good camera to buy for beginner.
