With everything currently going on I have had very few opportunities to go out and really put this camera to the test. I have a Tamron 18-400mm lens attached to this camera and the photo quality is great and met my expectations. Very clear, focused and no noise. The Nikon menu system is generally very easy to follow and this camera is no exception to that. Based on limited usage so far, I would highly recommend this camera for both beginners and more experienced photographers.

I decided to upgrade from my Nikon 3100. I made this choice with the help of the sales associate. The 5600 does have many more features than the older 3100. I have been happy with it so far.

Easier to handle than the D3100/D3300/D3400 series but similar small size. The "depth" of the rightside grip is smaller making it easier to grip. Hard to explain, but very noticeable. The SnapBridge wireless access with smartphone is handier than I expected also.

I understand that this isn't a full frame camera, which is most coveted by a professional, but this camera has proven to be not just an immense upgrade from my D5300 but a solid choice for anyone looking to up their photography from a cell phone or lower level camera.
This 24MP sensor is still as sharp and clean as ever, especially without the anti-aliasing filter (also known as a low pass filter) on it. That filter is meant to take out moire but at this resolution, it's absolutely not needed and the improvement is clear. Cropping down and sharing to any social media shows no real degradation of quality so if your shot is slightly off and you need to straighten or crop in, you have room to do so.
Burst shooting is immensely improved compared to my old D5300 with what feels like a faster burst rate and a far larger buffer, allowing for more shots to be taken in succession. The readiness of live view is also a MASSIVE improvement, going from shot to shot. In the D5300, if you take a shot in live view, it'd take a good 4-5 seconds before it's ready for another shot. Now, it's more like 1-2 seconds. In comparison, it feels instantaneous. I prefer using the optical view finder, but those low shots are very easy to get to with the flip out screen and live view activated.
As of 11/9/2018, the SnapBridge app is immensely approved compared to previous utilities. Once tethered via Bluetooth, and/or Wi-Fi, it also automatically geo-tags pictures as you shoot. It can also move over full size JPEGs and not just 1.2MP versions of the shots you take. RAW transfer to a phone or iPad will require a physical connection. Good news is that it now uses micro USB vs. a proprietary connector!
The grip is deep and easy to handle, the touch screen is responsive and bright, battery life leaves nothing to be desired but I do recommend you only get extra batteries by Nikon ONLY, no third parties. Bonus: the touch screen can be used to select your focus point when you're shooting in single point AF mode.
In all, it's a great value and there should be no hesitation in purchasing. If you're getting this from scratch, get the package with the 18-140mm lens and the Nikon 35mm f1.8 lens to get yourself started. Best investment you can take to take your photography to the next level.
