The Nikon 610 is a fantastic camera good for those who really know what you’re doing. Two memory card slots, it’s very lightweight, and it shoots great video.

I had a Nikon 3200 before I purchased the D610 & having so helped out so much. I feel very comfortable operating the D610 with previous knowledge of DSLR. With that being said, I recommend having a DX before purchasing an FX. Youll be prepared and will appreciate a full frame camera that much more. Great camera that's worth the price.

A significant step up from DX for low-light

I have been shooting DX since the D70 was released. I went from a D70 to a D90 and then a D7100. My first entry into the Full Frame world was a Canon 6D. An excellent camera camera but I just could not get over the lack of a built in flash. I switched to the D610 an have been extremely pleased. The image quality is remarkable. My D7100 images were sharp but the D610 appears (to me at least) as sharp if not more using good glass. The main reason I upgraded was for low light. I will say this, If low/available light photography is not very important, stick with a D7100 and spend the extra money on good glass. The other reason I switched was for a greater selection of quality wide angle lenses for FX vs DX. I'm very happy and I think even with newer models like the D750 arriving, the D610 still holds it's own quite comfortably for the money.

This camera is fantastic. I went in to replace my old crop sensor camera and was suggested to step up to the Nikon D600 but recently replaced that with the D610 and am very pleased. It shoots at amazing rates and the picture quality is amazing. It's fantastic with all of y FX lenses. The live view is convenient but my only use for it would be awkward shots and those are only easy with a screen that tilts. The camera is large if you're used to having a crop sensor but amazingly small for people who use full frames. Best buy does amazing with warranties and offers a cleaning which I highly suggest getting! Already saved me on the d600 fiasco. I use my D610 as a hobbyist and I love it. Lightroom has recently updated to support the raw formatting which makes working with my shots pain free. Favorite lens on it is my 50mm/F1.4. I've also got a wide angle and a telephoto and with the three lenses and the D610, I'm unstoppable!!!!

I upgraded from my D7000 to the 610. It's very similar as far as the features go. It is a full frame camera though. I'm very happy with the ease of use and the pics are sharp and clear. I love this camera.

This is an excellent entry level full frame DSLR. Good low light performance, very sharp, got really good results when used with DX lenses as well.

I purchased this when I upgraded my crop sensor to a full frame camera. It is very user friendly, the placement of the controls is very logical and makes adjusting settings very easy, and it produces excellent images even at very high ISOs. The AF fine tune function is a wonderful and saved a lens I thought was soft- now it takes tack sharp images every time. I would recommend this camera to anyone, it is a great full frame camera at an extremely reasonable price point.

Excellent camera with awesome photo quality and fast performance. I have only toyed with the movie mode (and it is my first time with SLR movies) but it seems to need more than casual attempts to get it working well in difficult lighting conditions.

Fantastic low light performer at a nice sale price. I originally purchased the D610, but had it for only one day and exchanged it for the D750. A solid performer with advanced features, sure enough to last me for years to come.

So far I have loved being able to shoot much higher quality photos than I have with my previous beginner Nikon. The shots are so clear and I look forward to getting better with it.

This is the best camera you can buy from picture quality to speed it covers all your needs. Better any canon or sony like cameras and a grand less. To beat this camera you would have to buy the nikon d800 and spend almost a grand more and deal with very large files because of the 36 mp.

This camera is fantastic. I bought it for stills but the video is stellar! The step up from the smaller sensor to the full size sensor is worth the price of admission. The color rendition and sharpness are impressive. I promise Nikon isn't paying me to say this. I Read several reviews that said if I bought one I wouldn't regret it and I don't.

I upgraded from my old D40X to the 610 and I love the quality or crispness of the photos. I still consider myself a novice or beginner so I would like more instructional videos or classes on camera functions. So far I am very happy with the upgrade but know I've only scratched surface of what the camera is capable of doing. I like that I can still use all the Nikon lenses I've purchased and only had to purchase the body.
