If you look at the features of the d610, you’ll notice this is a great full frame camera with a relative low price tag compared to other choices. The d610 gives you enough to do professional work. You won’t get the details you’ll get with the d800’s, the longer shutter life, faster shutter speed, and the convenient shortcuts, but with good lenses, you’ll get more than good enough picture quality. The size and weight of the d610 is very good for traveling and hanging around with your camera on for extended periods of time.
This is a great first full frame camera, but also a great second camera to pair with an other full frame. And as it has been a couple of years out in the market the price is lower. This one is a proven camera and a great buy.

Nikon made a very good camera with the 610. The first thing I noticed was the quiet shutter, even not in quiet mode. The images are very nice, probably the nicest tones since my Fuji S3. But...the controls. Why Nikon decided to change the control locations from the D200, D300, D700, I don't know. Some buttons are simply in opposite places. The changing of WB, ISO, and image quality are not convenient on the fly if you are used to the previous Nikon "pro-sumer" bodies.

Good camera, I liked this unit, paired with the 200/500 nikon lens, it was a good pair.
I am a wildlife photographer and just found that the slow frame rate made it a little hard to catch all the moments that happen in an instant.
I hear alot about the full frame and crop sensors camera being so different. some say FF is better and others say the DX is better and some say it makes no difference.
I feel like the FF,like the 610 did produce better pictures then the 7200 but not buy much.
If you looking at this and the 7200 i would go with the D610, 500 more on sale but i feel it produces a better picture then the 7200...
Now the 7200 is no slouch either so you can really go wrong but remember that with the D610 you really need a FF Lens to get best quality from the sensor...

Great full frame camera, high ISO, works with GPS unit sold separately. I mostly shoot in Aperture mode with high ISO for event photography and high school football photography. I hope the autofocus issues I had with the D600 have been cleared up.

Very nice camera, takes great photos in the daytime as well as in low light. Haven't used the flash yet. Love the ability to save images on two SD cards at the same time, RAW on one card and JPG on the other. Haven't needed to use the 6FPS continuous nor movie mode, yet.

I've owned several Nikon DSLRs and this one lives up to my expectations. It is the most expensive camera that I've owned and there are a lot more features that I have to learn how to use, but I am very please with its functionality. I mostly take pictures for personal projects, but this camera would allow me to move into the professional realm of photography if that is what I wanted. I'm happy that the lenses I've already invested in are compatible with this camera (I did purchase 2 new lenses with the camera also).

After using D50 that I purchased in 2006 and then D7000 in 2011, and being a Nikon fan, I had the desire and need to move to FX format (full frame) camera. Love this camera thus far, this is a nice upgrade from D7000 in megapixel and full frame perks with a decent price

Bought to use on my familiy's trip. What surprise were the colors and the settings. A good thing about this camera is that you can buy a wireless device and use it with your Iphone, Ipad and android devices.

I got this as a backup for my D750. This serves me with an excellent picture quality, that I was searching for. I think for people looking to get into full frame this would be a great beginner and later a backup camera.
