I have only had a chance to use once, but was excited with the results. Very small and lightweight, so definitely get one of the various holders available. Picture quality is exactly what I wanted and the sound quality was better than what I thought I would get. Did not use long enough to comment on battery life, but what time I did use didn't seem to drain it much at all. I had waited a long time for the Keymission 360, but after looking into what my uses would be, decided the 170 was better for me. I did a lot of research to compare the 170 with the new GoPro Hero Black and from what I could decipher, both were about the same in quality and price, but the Nikon edged out the GoPro for picture stability and low light looked better as well.

l like this camera as it is small, lightweight, sturdy & functional. I wish if a future software could allow more view modes (like linear view or medium view) for video/picture. But overall a good camera and video is also stable.

I read a review complaining that the micro-sd cards come loose. Sure thing first time I used it for a once in a life time video the card came loose and I got no recording. Using a second card did fix the problem!

I purchased my Key Mission 170 to shoot time-lapse videos on a cruise. The sales person didn't tell me that time-lapse videos are limited to ten seconds playback. Actually, for most subjects, ten seconds of playback is enough. The camera is small enough to hide in a pocket. image and video quality is very good. Resolution is high enough that when a "normal" image is wanted, placing the subject in the "sweet spot" allows cropping to a quality image. I would like to see it come with an external battery charger.

I was looking for an alternative to the GoPro. Luckily I came across the KeyMission 170. This little wonder takes exceptional 4K footage, can go almost anywhere, and actually takes good stills. Great job Nikon!

Only reason I give 1 star is because when the video does work, it is clear and precise. Cons: Where do I start.......... 1. Camera does not work in winter conditions. 28 degrees and battery lasted approx 5 minutes. Also, camera stopped functioning and would not save to the memory card. Unacceptable! 2. Remote that comes with camera has serious issues in controlling the camera. Works maybe 10% of the time. Unacceptable! 3. Nikon APP is the the most worthless app I have ever used. Was able to pair the camera to the iPhone but control was almost non existent here as well. Maybe 10% of the time it works. Really poor attempt at an app. I am a very tech savvy person and found myself pulling out what little hair I had just to make this crazy thing work. This is Nikon's initial attempt at an action came and they missed by a long shot. We are a Nikon family in regards to DSLR's which is why this product was purchased over the GoPro5. Big mistake! Returned to BestBuy today for full refund. Sorry Nikon! You should not release Beta models to the market. A swing and BIG MISS!
