Customers admire the MB-D16 Multi Power Battery Pack for its extended battery life, which is great for extended photography sessions. They also appreciate the improved grip and rotation abilities it provides, making it more comfortable to handle the camera, especially in portrait mode. While some find the battery pack to be a bit heavy and expensive, many agree that the build quality and design are excellent.

I've never wanted a battery grip before, but this one came with my d750 when I got it so I thought I'd try it out a bit before selling it. Not going to sell it anymore. I liked using it a lot more than I expected and even though my camera is heavier with it, I like the extra size. Being able to blow through 2 batteries before having to change them is nice, I haven't got to that point yet. And it makes shooting in portrait orientation a bit steadier.

I have not used it that much yet but wanted to offer my take on it as a non professional. The construction feels solid. The anti-slip grip feels good in your hands and although it does make the camera a little bulkier it doesn't feel overly heavy. The dials work flawlessly thus far and albeit a tad stiff i assume that will loosen up a bit with more use. It virtually doubles your shooting time. I have yet to use the battery in the camera.
Remember that this does not come with batteries inside it so you will have to buy either one EN-EL15 battery or 6 AA batteries to put inside it.

The battery grip makes it so much easier to take photos in portrait mode because of the extra buttons! It also extends the life of the camera so that you don't have to switch batteries. Very handy! It does make the camera a bit heavier and bulkier, but I think it will be a worthy tradeoff.

I received this battery grip as a free add-on when I recently purchased a Nikon D750. I took the camera and this grip on a recent trip to Disneyland and I'm very happy I did. It was convenient having the extra power along when I didn't spend a lot of time near a charger. The ability to use two batteries at a time (one in the camera and one in the grip) made it easy to shoot for multiple days at a time without charging. The grip is pretty light without the battery, so it doesn't add too much weight. It also makes the camera very comfortable to hold while shooting portraits.

This isn't one of those items you get just for the photographer.... This is what you get for the Camera! The MB-D16 for the Nikon D750 is a quintessential item. It houses an extra EN-EL15 OR 8 AA batteries and if you take pictures for more than a few hours... you're going to need it. It comes with both adaptors for either battery choice and a handy carrying case for the spare adapter. The built in serial plug cover holder is brilliant, and the grip is perfectly sized for my 13 year old's hands as well as mine (I'm now 40). As another reviewer said, always get the Nikon brand grips for your Nikon DSLR, as the off brands never fit as well or feel as well built. This is heavy feeling without adding too much extra weight to the D750. And if you have a Nikon D750 or will be buying one soon (also recommended for the hidden photographer in everyone)... the MB-D16 battery grip is a must!!

This battery grip is amazing. It doubles your battery life, and acts as a second shutter button for easily taking pictures when you rotate your camera. And it does not add a lot of weight to the camera.

it’s a little bulky and heavy when added to the camera but so far has been great. I like that I can use AA batteries to power my camera if needed and keep a backup battery for my camera on for extra juice as well. The cartridge for the batteries are easy to interchange. Even though it makes my camera a bit bigger and heavier I haven’t taken it off.

If you're a professional or want to know what it feels like to hold a professional style/weight DSLR camera... This is a must have. It adds weight to the camera but gives your the added ability to have an extra battery and most importantly the ability to turn the camera to take portrait shots without having your arms twisted to press the shutter. Stay away from 3rd party grips and buy this one. I got mine as a "freebie" when I picked up the D750 and I'm beyond pleased with both.

Battery grip works great with the camera if you don’t mind the extra weight especially if you’re using AA batteries.
Worth the price if you constantly switch from landscape to portrait.

When I bought my Nikon D750 I knew I had to get the MB-D16 grip to go with it. With my bear paws of hands, the grip allowed me to hold the camera better by allowing me to use my whole hand to hang on to it. The shutter release and controls on the grip allowed me to shoot in portrait orientation with no stress on my wrist. This is vital when shooting long events like weddings. I can shoot a lot longer, even entire weddings, with the second battery in the grip. Without the grip I would have to swap out batteries in the middle of the event which means possibly missing key moments. You have a choice between AA batteries or a second EN-EL15. Worth every cent.

I got this battery grip as part of a promotion.
I have used an off brand one before, but this has a better fit and finish. I do love the way it feels in the hand and the shutter button feels great!
The grip REALLY makes it easy to shoot in portrait mode, but it is not needed for sure.
However, I do LOVE the extra battery life. I have another battery, so I just charge it up and pop it in. I hardly ever use the primary battery. The grip does allow you to use 6 AA batteries for power, but this is where I do not want to give 5 stars (more like 4.5 stars). The camera will not tell you how much charge the batteries have, or when it switches over to using the primary battery. It is not a deal breaker, but I would like some sort of notification so I can pop in new batteries.
In conclusion, if you have another camera battery and want to shoot for a looong time and have a quality feel, get this battery grip.

I have grips on all my cameras. The added size with this grip just makes it easier to handle and adds balance to the camera. Also the ability to shoot practically all day with the added power isn’t bad either.

We had been looking at getting a DX and this seriously looking at the D610. But when the D750 price fell to match the price of the D610, we decided to get the D750. This secondary battery holder and grip was part of the special deal Best Buy was having at the time. A backup battery is always a great idea and the grip makes portrait taking much easier.

If you don't or never had a battery grip, get one. saves so much time waisted on changing batteries and is the perfect tool for easily shooting in portrait or landscape mode with out twisting your arms. The camera just feels better with this on it. Lol Looks cool also.

This was a dream for me when I traveled internationally and left my European charging adapter for the camera's battery at home....The extra battery boost allowed me to go days and days without charging. Very comfortable in the hand as well. Does add bulk and weight though, which if you are hiking on rough terrain, is challenging. Overall, highly recommend

This battery pack was included in a Nikon promotional bundle when I purchased my D750. It works fine, as advertised. In my opinion it is not worth the normal retail cost. I would never have purchased it seperately because it doesn't really add any usefulness that I benefit from. It adds bulk that I personally don't like, but others with larger hands who shoot in portrait position a lot may benefit. It'll stay in my bag until the day comes when I expect to shoot more than 900 photos in a day or expect to shoot hours of video and can't be interrupted long enough to swap in a spare battery. If that day comes I'll be glad I have this.
