Best grip I have ever used great quality and feels really good in your hand

Even though Nikon and Canon seem to really enjoy loading up the prices on many of their accessories, and Nikon has a lot of them, this one is as well made as any of their other ones and besides giving the D500 an extra feel and heft, only objectionable for folks with smaller hands, I like that one can have several battery options at ones disposal, including aa sized lithiums, for a shoot.

Came Free with D500 holiday purchase. Not sure I would pay the $350+ retail (so would not recommend outright purchase unless it is needed) but it was a great adder to the promo. I will see if on-board battery life and better ergonomics benefits from the grip. Keep an eye out for a similar Free Grip offer as newer models are being released.

Skip the third party and get this grip, the genuine Nikon is much better built, so if you're going to use the camera as intended it's 100% worth it. It takes the same battery trays as the D800/D810/D850 as a bonus, and will use 8 AA, EN-EL15 or EN-EL18 batteries.

This battery grip came bundled with my Nikon D500 for free, so you can't beat the deal.

I bought my D500 when they were including the battery grip. That is an awesome set up. To be able to turn the camera sideways and still have easy access to the shutter button and even aperture control is awesome. The additional battery life you get is just icing on the cake.

Makes my D500 easy to hold on to with long lens and love the way you can also use Double d batteries if your out of your camera batteries. Only down side is added heavyweight which for me is no problem.

I prefer the vertical grip on my Nikon cameras. This MB-D17 is a little pricey, but it does what it's supposed to do. It attaches firmly and adds a lot of battery life to the D700 camera. Happy I bought it, very pleased Best Buy had it in stock too!

What can I say, it works exactly how it's supposed to with out fail. I happen to appreciate the additional weight and the size it adds to my camera. It feels great in my hand at the L bracket from Really Right Stuff seals the deal!

I haven't been in a situation where I have needed this yet. I figured this will come in handy once I am in more remote locations shooting pictures in Africa or South America. If I run into any issues I will update the review then.

Does what it supposed to do...works great....nice accessory.

Great quality. Using with a D500 to help extend battery life. The use of 8 rechargeable AAs does add some additional weight but is manageable. I also like the added controls. Came with the camera as a free option.

This has extended the battery life tremendously! The grip on the hand makes such a big difference. Love the vertical controls and being able to program the extra function buttons!

I will not own a camera with out this type of grip. Once you have one you will never go back to anything else. Don't think about it. Just buy it and you will be happy you did!

Works good with my new Nikon D500, i recommend this well made product! the grip is good to hold expensive DSLR to protect from accidental drop.

This is a must have if you’re considering purchasing the Nikon D500. The ease of portraits and the additional battery power makes all the difference.

The battery grip is essential for my style of shooting. I love the extra capacity and the ability to go vertical with all the buttons in the same place.

If you're out shooting all day this is a must have. Nice tight fit to the camera and makes it easier to shoot vertical images.

I BOUGHT THIS AS AN EXTRA FOR MY D500 BUT FOUND OUT A FEW DAYS LATER NIKON WAS GIVING IT AWAY AS A PACKAGE FREE..SO I RETURNED IT, GOT MY MONEY BACK AND REPURCHASED IT FOR FREE..VERY COMFORTABLE IN HAND AND MAKES CAMERA AND LENS MORE BALANCED BESIDES THE EXTRA SHOOTING TIME..,LOVE IT FOR VERTICAL SHOTS TOO
