    I received this new with the purchase of my d500 so I can only be but so critical. Works as it should and feels good in the hand however, it does NOT come with a battery. If you look, the retail on this unit is around $300 which is outrageous for what it is, a chunk of plastic WITHOUT a battery. But like I said, I got it free with purchase of my d500 so after a $50 battery, i'm still ahead.

    I had my D500 for a few month, but wanted to add comfort and balance to my camera. The battery grip adds both and feels good. Any photographer who shoots a lot I would recommend getting a grip for the extra battery life.
