This remote control for my Nikon D610 works great.

It allows me to take pictures without touching the camera so there is less chance of shaking the camera, especially on macro shots. You do have to remember though it is line of sight not RF, so you have to be able to point at the sensor on the front or rear of the camera. Would definitely recommend this to a friend.
