It often disconnects while downloading, and even during successful transfers, I can only send one picture at a time. The transfers fail more often than not.

It works but it only kind of does what it's supposed to do. I was able to get the app on my phone but after downloading the picture to my phone I wasn't able to share them. The only way I could was by screen shooting each picture then crop them which took away the quality of the photo. Also I could not wirelessly send then to my laptop because it came with no default passcode to allow access.

I am quite annoyed with myself for making this purchase, the connection between the adapter and any other device is sketchy even on its best working day, i have only been able to transfer like 6 photos due to such interrupted connections

This item came with the Camera as part of the Bundle. As far as I'm concerned it's pretty much a waste. Very slow when it works and doesn't always transfer all the pictures. I would rather have an Apple SD card adapter with a lightning plug

This product works seamlessly with those of us that saved some money and didn't buy the Nikon with it built in. Its a little unusual attaching to the external part of the camera, but is out of the way. The coolest feature is the wireless photo taking with a smart phone. I can see the image on my phone and take the picture from there!

    Handy to Have

Make sure your phone or tablet is compatible with this adapter. It works fine with my iPhone 5s. The adapter is very easy to use, just plug into your camera (I'm using it on a Nikon D3300), ensure your phone or tablet's wireless network settings are set to detect all available networks, turn on your app and you're in business. Your phone or tablet will automatically detect this adapter's network. There are limitations to the app and not necessarily the adapter. But if all you want to do is take photos in a "point and shoot" camera mode, this adapter does really well. It has excellent range, doesn't get affected by common electronic devices and is very useful as a remote relay with limited operation. I gave it a four star not because the adapter is poorly made, but because the corresponding Nikon app is very limited and can freeze every now and then. Also, I thought the price was a bit high for it. However, I am satisfied with it and would recommend it.

When using the WU-1A to connect to your smart device please try putting your smart device in Airplane Mode then enabling Wi-fi separately. If the problem persists please contact Nikon Support at 1-800-NikonUS for assistance. Nikon

When you go to connect your camera to your smart device via the WU-1A try putting your smart device in Airplane Mode then enabling Wi-fi separately. This can help prevent other connections from interfering with the WU-1A's connection to your device. If the problem persists please contact Nikon Support at 1-800-NikonUS for assistance. Nikon

Many people are slaves to their memory cards, having to wait until they jump on their computer at home to get their pictures. I did a lot of social media work for my last job so this came in handy to get pictures from my camera to my phone fast and on social media quick. The only issue I have with it is that the connection will cut out every now and again but that's usually only because I'll try and transfer too many pictures at once. Definitely a must have for up to the minute up dates in this very digital world.
