I’m coming from a shooting with the Nikon D800 for about 7 years now and i’ve had a lot of trouble switching over to mirrorless. I’ve tried out Sony and Cannon even the Z6ii but those files didn’t satisfy my taste. I picked up this camera thinking “eh I’m probably not gonna like this one either…it’s the cheapest full frame camera in Nikon’s lineup…I need the *pro* cameras which are $3000 +” to my surprise this camera is everything I wanted. It’s has all the pros of a Nikon plus the advantages of mirrorless such as eye af, it’s much lighter, touchscreen af, and more

The first time I have a full frame digital camera. I mostly take videos of my grandchildren. I mostly use the Nikon Z lens 50mm 1:1.8. I like taking videos in the aperture priority mode because I can control the depth of field. The quality is so high even in HD that individual frames are perfect size and resolution for sharing with family and friends.
What I also like is the Nikon tradition of compatibility with older lenses. With the FTZ adapter I can use all my older lenses.
I have only started exploring the camera's options. However, I was able to start using it with a minimal preparation.
It is worth noting the camera's low light capabilities.
One of the pictures below is a frame from a HD video the other is a RAW picture.

My first use of a full sensor and I’m very amazed in the difference from my old crop sensor d3500. The quality of the AF and usability compared to the other Nikon. I am not a pro photographer but really looking to start, this will definitely get my feet wet with the quality of pics. Here are couple shots with my 50mm 1.8 Nikkor z mount lens

An amazing camera. Fantastic image quality with Nikon finally embracing face and eye detection technology. The colors are beautiful and the available prime lenses for the z mount cameras are truly worth the wait.

Coming from a DSLR camera, I found the Z5 somewhat challenging to use at first. I couldn't get it to focus properly and images seemed distorted and didn't have the quality I was used to seeing with the D7100. But after playing around with it for quite some time, I was able to finally get the hang of it. A little learning curve, and this camera has helped me capture many great images for my clients and personal photos for myself. I highly recommend it! Especially if you are looking for a budget friendly alternative.

Great camera if you are coming from a crop sensor, it does enough and is a well rounded. I would have expected a little more on the ISO range but couldn’t say no because of the price.

My most favorite camera yet! I’m a Nikon girly so I’ve had quite a few and I’d say this one is definitely my favorite out of all the ones I’ve had! Works well! Quality of the photo is outstanding!

Best value in a full frame mirrorless camera. I am able to use all my old F lenses (thought not very compact).
Get the 24-120 or 24-200mm lens (I got the latter). Works great, perfect travel lens

I'll start by saying that I am not a pro, just an amateur. I got this on sale for $999 and paired it with the 24-70mm f4 which is also discounted if you bundle them together. I picked up the 50mm f1.8 as well and the combo covers a lot of bases for approximately $2200. This camera is absolutely amazing for my purposes. I was not worried about the 4k video crop, because I don't need video. Having a blast shooting with this thing and as of this review, a new firmware update will be released in a couple days that will improve it further.
As a side not, the Z 50mm f1.8 is an INCREDIBLE lens. I highly recommend it. It may seem expensive for a 50, but it is no joke.

The Nikon Z5 is an excellent camera for beginners who want strong performance at a reasonable price. It offers great image quality, solid autofocus, and very good low-light performance for its class.
The controls are intuitive and easy to learn, making it a perfect camera for anyone transitioning from a phone or entry-level camera. At the same time, it has enough advanced features to grow with you as your photography skills improve.
Build quality feels solid, the ergonomics are comfortable, and the full-frame sensor delivers impressive detail and dynamic range. For the price, the performance you get is outstanding.
Overall, this is a great value camera and an excellent choice for learning photography without feeling limited too quickly. Highly recommended for beginners and enthusiasts.

This camera is incredible for the money. You get in-body stabilization, access to the absolutely incredible Z glass, dual UHS-II card slots, and the new EN-EL15C battery which supports charging while the camera is on. This camera does shockingly well in low light situations, and especially with the Z glass the autofocus is nice and snappy. The controls are layed out in a very ergonomic and intuitive way, and let you customize them to have exactly what settings you need at your fingertips. The touchscreen looks amazing, and makes this camera so easy to use being able to swipe through menus or adjust settings without turning dials or clicking buttons.
All in all this is an amazing entry to Nikon's Z lineup, and for an entry level full frame camera I think it is incredibly difficult to beat.
