People say this is a great starter camera. This is a great camera period for stills (portraits) or video. If you are shooting fast past events (wildlife, sports, etc.) I would suggest the Z6. But this is the best budget friendly camera on the market.

Recently traded my Nikon 7500 and bought this. Still early, but I have no regrets. I wanted to upgrade to full sensor mirrorless camera without breaking the back. This came on sale and I couldn't miss out. If you're looking for a cheap full frame camera that doesn't feel cheap, then this is it. The build is typical Nikon build with the very pronounced grip. It's light, but not flimsy. The pics turns out great. The autofocus is pretty on point most of the times. Can't wait to get more familiar with this camera.

This camera is very beginner friendly and takes some absolutely stunning pictures! It is so much lighter than the D series cameras making it much easier to handle when used with the Z lenses. Very happy with my decision to switch.

It’s cool. If you can afford it, get the Z6III. But for someone taking pictures at the family picnic or setting up the photo booth, this is a solid camera.

Great Fullframe mirrorless camera

Great budget camera in the beginner range full frame mirrorless category. One of the best feature it provides is the face detection where it will help you ensure your portraits are in focus. Not so light weight in comparison to DSLRs but it definitely isn't bulky

I bought this camera as a beginner, and this camera is very easy to use to me. The handling is great. The performance is awesome with a 50 mm f 1.8 lens. Highly recommended if you are looking for an entry-level full-frame camera! For lens, I recommend the 50mm f1,8, or 85mm or the 24-120!

I am really impressed with what this camera can do especially given the low price tag compared to the more professional models and the competition. Stabilization works great which allows for lower shutter speeds in less than optimal lighting conditions. I do recommend getting the Z lenses for best results. I am not using it professionally so I definitely have lower requirements and while it cannot shoot 10fps or log video it is certainly sufficient for my needs.

Great mirrorless camera for beginners.
Menu is easy to use and allows you to set custom buttons. I love that it has two memory card slot. Decent battery life mist better than the canon EOS RP.
My only complaint is the Screen really only tilts up or down and does not swivel out.

Great body, good price for full frame. Built solid, as you expect from Nikon. I've been using M43 for several years, and I missed having Nikon colors. I considered the Z6 or Z6II, but I'd rather keep some money for an upgrade later on. I don't use video be recording, so the Z5 had what is needed. I also considered the A7C. If Nikon had a mirror less full frame camera in that form factor (no viewfinder hump) I would have gone for that.
