I had some issues learning some of the features at first. Although I still have not learned an 8th of its features, it is an amazing camera. The focusing system is great when it is locking on the subject, but when it is hunting in the moment... whew!! I love it so far and I have had it almost 2 months. I do not like to review anything in a hurray as first opinions' can and usually change.

This was my first step into mirrorless. It isn't my favorite Nikon camera. I still reach for my D850. The images are very sharp, but Nikon really needs to catch up in the mirrorless game especially with the eye tracking. Going mirrorless is a learning curve even if you already shoot that same brand.

Everything is great on the z6ii. The Z6-z6ii is a low light monster. Main reason why I decided on this instead of the z7, also I don't need that extra mp even though its nice to have. I only need 1 card slot. I Tried using 2 but its a waste for my needs. Auto focus works great but I rarely us it. I use tracking focus and i like to use the boxes to pull focus. Other then that I probably could of bought the z6 instead of getting sold on the z6ii. I love this thing. Had it for over a year and no issues at all. Battery life is great. I bought an extra battery. Just made me lazier on keeping up and charging my batteries. All i need is 1 but always good to have an extra batter for those days that you'll never know you'll need (maybe 2 times at most in the last year). If you're really sold on auto eye focus, spend the extra $600+ on other systems but as for me I works great.

The Nikon Z6 II is an absolute powerhouse! The image quality is stunning — crisp, detailed, and vibrant even in low light. The dual processors make everything fast and responsive, from focusing to burst shooting. I love how solid and comfortable it feels in hand, and the menu system is intuitive and easy to navigate. The dual card slots are a huge plus for peace of mind during professional shoots. Whether I’m capturing weddings, concerts, or portraits, this camera delivers consistently beautiful results. Highly recommend it to anyone serious about photography!

Great upgrade from the original Z6

This is a great upgrade from the Nikon Z6 for a few reasons:
Video recording up to 4K 60p (which is at a 1.5 crop)
More robust autofocus system
The addition of one SD card slot
New battery version (longer lasting and allows charging in-camera)
New battery grip compatibility
Unless any of those reasons are necessary for your shooting, I wouldn't consider the Z6II and stick the Z6.
For practical purposes, consider this camera is you already have money invested in SD cards. This allows time to add CFExpress/XQD cards in the future when they are necessary.
This is a great camera body that gives you a lot of tools at your disposal. You may have to spend a good amount of time getting used to the Z autofocus modes, but they are reliable and solid once you understand how to effectively implement them for your situation. The Z glass is great, and I find that the images coming from the 1.8s primes are super sharp (sometimes a bit too sharp for my taste). If you have plenty of F glass, the FTZ adapter is a great addition to this camera body. AIS and D lenses work well if you are comfortable with manual focusing.
I highly recommend considering this camera body if you are moving into mirrorless territory.

decided to upgrade from a Z5, and it was well worth it. Great in low light and very easy to use operating system makes this a nice upgrade from the Z5. Battery life is also pretty good. Paired with any of the Z mount lenses and anything is possible

The Nikon Z6II is an exceptional camera that excels in both photography and videography. This versatile camera produces sharp and crisp images, as well as high-quality videos, making it a fantastic choice for enthusiasts and professionals alike.
One of the standout features of the Z6II is its impressive image quality. The photos are incredibly sharp, capturing intricate details with stunning clarity. The dynamic range is excellent, providing rich, vibrant colors that bring every shot to life.
When it comes to video performance, the Z6II continues to impress. The videos are equally crisp and detailed, with smooth motion and precise focus. Whether you’re shooting in 4K or experimenting with slow motion, this camera delivers professional-grade results.
A key component of my setup is the Nikon Z 40mm prime lens, which has become a permanent fixture on my camera. This lens complements the Z6II perfectly, offering a versatile focal length that is ideal for a variety of shooting scenarios. The combination of the Z6II and the Z 40mm lens produces consistently stunning images and videos, whether I’m capturing landscapes, portraits, or everyday moments.
In conclusion, the Nikon Z6II is a reliable and high-performing camera that never disappoints. Its exceptional image and video quality, paired with the outstanding performance of the Nikon Z lenses, make it a top choice for anyone serious about their photography and videography.

The camera is great in low light. The built in mic works well. The batteries also provide a good amount of photos.
