Excellent upgrade coming from a Nikon D5300.

This was the upgrade I needed at a price point that allowed me to finally take the plunge into full frame. While I have been shooting with a Nikon for years, I have never had a full frame. As someone who shoots weddings and enjoys shooting events, I have found myself really exploring the many features and trying new things. Having compared the options before making my decision, I knew this camera would fit my specific needs without going overboard or not getting what I truly wanted in my upgrade.

I upgraded from the d7500 and it's a night and day difference. I absolutely love the speed and quality of this camera (used with nikkor z lenses). If i could complain about something, it's that the auto focus (on all nikons, from what ive read) are just not quite as fast as brands like sony or cannon, but it does good enough if your subject is well lit. It doesnt affect me enough to drop down to a 4 star rating.

    DSLR to mirrorless transition.

I have been a Nikon DSLR user for many years. I transitioned to the z7ii mirrorless from a D810. After a bit of a learning curve to get comfortable with the dials and menus I find this to be an amazing piece of hardware. I was reluctant to go mirrorless because of my comfort zone with the DSLR and its controls but I’m loving my new gear. Highly recommended

Upgraded to mirrorless from the D3300 I bought back in 2016. Wow. What a difference. With the FTZ converter I can keep my old F-mount lenses. I was focusing on GoPros the last 5-6 years. This is going to bring me back to photography.

I have owned for 2 years. It is a great camera Coming from d7500. It will take time to learn the AF modes and when to use them and for what. 45 megapixel allows for ease with cropping. The ftz ii adapter will allow use of AFS lens with ease and zero optical difference. The viewfinder is natural view. I’m no pro, but a 68 year old enthusiast. O need to spend more for z8 unless you have pro aspirations or just disposable cash. Invest in good glass and rent Lightroom mobile. You will have pro level images! The focus tracking isn’t A plus but if needed will get the job done.

Great mirrorless camera. My first mirrorless and a decent step up from my previous DSLR, (Nikon D750). The transition was smooth and easy, (nominal learning curve). Besides the mirrorless features, the Z 7ii is lighter weight, double megapixels and the camera is a decent step into professional level photography.

Outstanding camera! I was going to upgrade from the Z6, but decided to keep the Z6 for video. The images out of the Z7ii are outstanding and it is nice to have the flexibility to crop in a little more. When I don't crop, it is even better! I shot some video with the new camera and it was great too! Very clear and auto focus worked as it should. One thing I have to say to the negative Nikon people, I shot some long videos at full resolution and I didn't need to stop because the camera got hot (same with my Z6, can run it for hours on live webinars). I have been on video shoots with videographers using the other two main brands and they all needed to stop to wait for their cameras to cool down. Not an issue here! I have been shooting with my new 24-200 at the beach and was able to get some incredible wild life shots (have other lenses, but wanted to use this one). Although my F mount lenses are working great, even the 24-200 Z lens takes great pictures! I am on a budget, but can't wait to get some of the more expensive Z lenses. You can't beat Nikon glass and Nikon colors! I wish I can say that I can compare this against the Z7, but have only used the Z6. This is very fast and focus is great whether with people or wildlife. Can't say enough about the camera, if you are thinking about this camera, just get it!

Absolutely love this camera. It was an upgrade from a crop sensor Nikon. It did take more time than I expected to get used to the new controls even though it was a Nikon to Nikon upgrade for me. Lots of different settings and controls. Just a couple weeks into it though and I can already see, I was ready for the upgrade, I had stretched my crop sensor to its absolute max and this took my pictures and abilities to a whole new level!

After months of research, I decided to purchase the Nikon Z7ii. I chose to purchase from Best Buy because the prices are fair, they match, and offer great services so I can be worry free on photo shoots. I've had the camera about 6 weeks and had the opportunity to go on about four or five photo shoots. The results are fantastic. With over 30 years photography experience, this camera is the best yet. Will definitely purchase future photography needs from Buy Best. Cannot wait to uncover all the possibilities with this camera.

I did tons of research beforehand and decided this was the best choice on the market for me. It's lightweight, sharp and has excellent glass lenses. As a few others said, I wish that Nikon made the rear screen fully swivel but overall it's not a deal breaker.

I decided go with the newer technology of mirrorless and love this camera so much. I really enjoy the electric viewfinder! All settings (ISO, shutter speed, and F stop) all show up in real life changes in light within the view finder. You can set this camera to beep when you shoot, if that's your thing, I have the beep off. It makes a quiet shutter noise that is similar to my old DSLR, that I prefer most of the time. However in instances where I want to be more discrete, there is a silent shooting mode where there is no beep or shutter noise... just a tiny motor noise which is barely audible. Works fantastic when I'm shooting photos of birds that can be very easy to startle. All the button settings and dials on the camera can be customized to how you shoot. The pop up menus can be customized for the other settings you use most. It's a good weight, much lighter than my DSLR and smaller... yet it feels great in the hands and is balanced well. I don't use the LCD much but it works great and is touchscreen so you can use it to focus or change your settings at will and it also shows the changes in light. Another option I enjoy is the focus peaking. It has multiple colors and strength settings. The only issue I see is that its auto focus can sometimes be a little wonky. It works excellent on people, and there is a pet option that does excellent on cats and dogs. However, birds and more fidgety animals can be a bit trickier... normally I turn it to manual focus and still get excellent results, but I wanted to give this a fair review. It is a little harder if you are used to shooting with autofocus, sometimes it's auto focus is focusing more on the beak than the eyes, especially trying to track animals. I almost exclusively shoot manual so for me it's not a big issue.
