The air fryer works great. the instructions for frozen french fries however are not too accurate. we use the thinner fries and the recipe/time must be for the thicker crinkle cut. the thinner seasoned fries take half the amount of time to cook.

First Impressions: easy to use, looks cool, yields small batches of food compared to size of device, straightforward instructions, easy clean-up. The 4qt size is a bit misleading as yes you can use the full 4qt size depending on the type of food, however, even using the full 4qts requires moving the food around to make sure it gets "fried". Foods like meats cannot be layered. So overall the design greatly limits the amount of prepared food cooked at a time, so the recommendation is it is great for a family unit of 2, but larger than that you are looking at multiple batches, with two batches of any one type of food taking 45min to an hour to cook. The cooking times stated in the instructions seem to be spot on, so that assessment of multiple batches should hold true too; not adding time for cooling of the device "pot" to be to handle and load another batch, so adding about 10 minutes to get a real world start to finish time. I don't know if it can be called an "Air Fryer" though, as the food looks like it has been roasted, so no different than using an oven, putting oil on something, and tossing it in. Since the food is not being deep fried it doesn't have that fried look, nor does it taste fried...it tastes roasted. Not that it is a bad thing, but the applications my family had in mind, it definitely will not work for as it will need to be tried and true deep fried. I would recommend this, but seriously think through the intended applications and quantities desired. For potatoes/french fries, and the like its an easy win as the mess of a true fryer is gone; again just limited by yields.

I have seen for a long time this kind of air fryer cookers in the market, but I was skeptical about the taste of the food being cooking on this Air Fryers. Obviously the fatty fried food has been always a concern, but the taste of the food is important as well. As Always, I strongly recommend to read the instructions, there are some important tips that will help you to get the best of this unit and the cooking. So, first I tried french fries, following the instructions that came in the little booklet and for my surprise, these tasted really good, crunchy outside and soft inside. And with this ninja unit, one of the major advantage is that doesn't smell the house and it is not noisy. Most of the food cooks in about 20min. The chicken, meat, pork, even fish, were cooked and the texture was not dry but juicy and tender, which surprised me a lot. Another great pro is that the Ninja Air Fryer is coated with ceramic and you will not see issues with anything sticking. It is very easy to clean. This Ninja model has four functions: Air Fry, Roast, Reheat and Dehydrate. The basket and the crisper plate is made of aluminum and covered with a ceramic non stick coating. The instructions manual is easy to understand and the display very easy to read on how to air fry, roast, reheat and dehydrate. Close to de display and the controls there is a sticker with basic but really usefull instructions on how to cook different types of food and the cook time. It comes with a quick start guide booklet with tips, and recipes. It has a chart on cook times for meat, vegetables, fruits etc. Because is a 4qt capacity, the basket is designed for cooking meals up to 2 people. It is recommended to preheat 3 min before you start to cook anything. It has a digital screen with automatic setups, where you can control temperature and cook time. Another great pro is the seize, and the great look, matching perfectly in my kitchen. Now if you want to have a perfect cooking, the manual recommends to flip the food to be sure it cooks even, the food needs to be checked every few minutes to shake or stir the food, also if you are cooking big pieces try not to overlap them. The Ninja model AF101 feels robust, durable, quality, perfect seize to keep on counter top or look for a small storage. The instructions allows to add a little bit of oil to certain foods by tossing or coating with the oil. Without doing that yet, the food taste good. Beside all the advantage that this unit offers as I mentioned before, the fact that I don't feel guilty with fried food is a great plus. I highly recommend the Ninja AF101, it is a great choice if you are looking for an Air Fryer Cooker.

We have been using the Ninja Air Fryer for about a month now. It is really easy to use, and comes with a guide that shows temps and times for various foods. We have made homemade fries, tater tots, fish sticks, chichen nuggets, breaded chicken breasts, etc. They turn out nice and crispy on the outside and generally tender on the inside. My son didn't care for the "crispy" Chicken nuggets because he is used to how they turned out in the oven. It takes some time to adjust times and temps to get foods how you like them but it looks quick and is easy to clean up. I errored on the safe side for chicken and over cooked a bit. So it was slightly dry. But once you figure it out, food turns out great!

So I researched a little bit and set mind on this air fryer because of 4.8/5 reviews. I made purchase today and in just few hours I was making my first ever dish in it. It's very easy to work with. Instructions are crystal clear in the recipe booklet. I cooked Salmon in it and I was wowed as how crispy the skin and outside was; and inside was so soft and pink exactly as I wanted. Also the size is great, fits perfectly on the counter of my small kitchen. It's more than enough for a single person but can accommodate a family of four. Also would like to mention that I agree with other reviewers that this doesn't come with bunch of accessories, just a multilayer basket and a crisper; also it's a bit noisy. But still I'm very gladly live with it as this product is awesome. Please don't think just get it, you will be so happy and pleased.

I love, love, love this air fryer. This thing is amazing. I've been wanting one for the longest and finally got my chance during Black Friday. I was at work all day and was hoping I was able to get one after the crowds. Thankfully there was 2 units left on the shelf and I quickly grabbed mine. The Ninja Air Fryer is so easy to use. The included user manual and cook guide makes cooking easy and fun. Set it the desired temp and time and walk away. So far I've cooked steaks, fries, pork tenderloin (my fave) and of course chicken. A quick 3 minute preheat, then placed your seasoned (or not) food in the basket set the temp/time and that's it. It does make a sound that lets you know it's working but that's NOT a deal-breaker, at least not for me. One thing I wish it did was auto-pause if/when you pull out the basket to check on your food. Again, that's not a deal-breaker for me. Another great tip is that it washes up very easy. The basket and the bottom plate is easy to clean. This is a must buy if you've been in the market for a new air fryer. You can't go wrong with the 4-Quart Ninja Air Fryer.

This is a nice unit, well thought out and intuitive. It can roast, dehydrate, reheat and of course fry. It has a somewhat small 4 qt. capacity but is sufficient for cooking for 2 people. I have tested several Ninja products and have always found them to be well built and intuitive. Hardware; Base of unit is sturdy and has easy to use touch controls to select - cooking type, temperature and times. It is pretty lightweight so is easy to move around. Comes with; Removable stainless-steel multi-layer rack Removable ceramic non-stick crisper plate Removable ceramic coated 4 qt. basket A nice starter guide with a host of recipes. Actual use; I have only used it for frying so far and all have gone well. Just preheat as booklet suggests. I used the air crisper for the frozen french fries. I just stuck them in set temp to 360, timer to 10 minutes - gave them a shake - put them on for another 10 minutes and fries came out crispy and fluffy - no oil or mess. You can easily check on them by opening the crisper lid, as it automatically pauses the cooking or to give them a quick toss. It barely made any mess in the pots and I basically let it cool and wiped areas out with a paper towel. Roasted thawed chicken legs. I did spray with a little olive oil and salt and peppered them. Then set crisper function, with temp of 390 and time of 20 minutes. I checked at 5 minute intervals. At end of around 20 minutes we had delicious, juicy, crisp chicken legs. Fried frozen corn dogs. Just stuck them in with no oil at 375 for 15 minutes and they came out crispy on the outside and the hot dog was hat and juicy on the inside. No oil and virtually no clean-up. Also used air crisper to roast cut up onions, carrots and red pepper. Just gave them a spritz of olive oil and 12 minutes later they were soft but still crispy with that slight char around the edges that you get from grilling out on a kabob - excellent! Reheated cold pizza and that was really nice as crust came out crispy. Clean up was a pretty easy but I hand washed the plate and crisper basket. Have not roasted or dehydrated anything yet but do plan to. Saves heating up the oil fryer and its associated mess as well as using heating oven if roasting. No real downsides other than; I pulled the basket out to check the food and the crisper didn't turn off or pause. I tried it several times pulling it all the way out and it didn't stop any of the times. I find this concerning especially if you have impatient children around. Maybe its operator error but wanted to mention it, but I did take off a star due to this. Good unit providing quick healthier frying and roasting options. Looking forward to healthier eating with much less overall mess. Would recommend.

    Not just for French fries

The Ninja 1500-watt air fryer is a wonderful addition to your kitchen. It circulates super-hot air around your food while browning/crisping it. You can use it for air frying, roasting, re-heating, and dehydrating. You can use it for anything you would typically cook in the oven. It has a 4-quart basket capacity so you don't have to cook in batches. There is also a multi-layer rack to increase capacity when dehydrating foods. The quick start guide includes 20 recipes and handy cooking charts for different meats, fruits, vegetables, and frozen foods. The bonus is that the basket and food crisper are easy to clean. Just be sure to let them cool down before cleaning so you don't burn yourself. So far, I used the air fryer to cook Brussels sprouts, French fries, and to reheat baked stuffed potatoes. While it doesn't promise to cook food in a fraction of the time, it does crisp food that is fresh or frozen. Tips for best results: 1. Always preheat for 3 min before cooking foods. 2. Use the crisper plate when you want foods to come out crispy. If using a baking dish, you won't need the crisper plate. 3. Shake or toss your food several times during the cooking process. 4. Check your food frequently so it doesn't overcook. 5. Secure lightweight food so it doesn't blow around (toothpicks, etc). 6. To convert recipes you would cook in a conventional oven, reduce the temp of the air fryer by 25 degrees. If you are looking to purchase an air fryer, compare basket capacity, cooking programs, and power (watts) so you know you have equivalent products. I only have a single door oven, so the air fryer is useful as it gives me extra oven space for when I am cooking multiple dishes simultaneously at different temperatures. While I really like this product and would highly recommend it, I find that all these individual, handy-dandy, kitchen appliances start taking up all the room on my kitchen countertop. I would encourage you to look into purchasing a combo appliance, such as the Ninja Foodi, that is a pressure cooker, steamer, slow cooker, air crisper all-in-one.

Who knew I needed an Air Fryer?

I had heard of air fryers but never thought I needed one until I used it the first time. The Ninja came packaged nicely and does not require assembly. Remove the tape and you're ready to go. This comes with an easy to follow manual, great food guides as well as some recipes. I wanted to try this for two things that I never made right at home...French fries and buffalo wings. I tried baking them. frying them in a pan, and broiling them and could never get them right...until now. I tried French fries first. I sprayed the inside with a bit of non stick spray and layered some fries on the bottom of the pot. I cooked them for about 15 minutes and was really pleasantly surprised by how well they were cooked. The fries were crispy. crunchy, perfect on the inside and absolutely delicious without being greasy. I can't wait to try other veggies now. Next test would be buffalo wings. I marinated wings over night and put them in the Ninja about 30 minutes before Thursday Night Football started. I cooked them for a bit at 350 degrees and then raised the temp to 390 as the guide recommended. Upon checking them midway when I gave the bin a shake, I noticed that they were already nearly done and looked pretty darn crispy. I love crispy wings and hate them when they're soggy. I let them go a few more minutes while I heated up my wing sauce and then tossed them right in the Ninja bin. The wings were amazing! Crispy, hot, moist, and delicious. Total game changer and I will be making this a football tradition, no more delivery. Cleanup of the unit could not be easier, even after tossing the wing in hot sauce. I ran it under hot water and rinsed it a few times and then soaked it in dish soap for an hour or so. Another rinse and the bin was perfectly clean. A wet towel inside the unit and voila, clean Air Fryer. I remember having a roommate who bought a mini fryer and the thing was a disgusting mess. The Ninja was clean in minutes and didn't leave a mess all over the kitchen counter. I can't wait to experiment with some recipes and cook food healthier. The Ninja Air Fryer is amazing!
