Cutting down on fried foods is hard to do. If you don't want to go cold turkey, Ninja's Air Fryer Max XL is a great option. With a sneaky sleek design and simple operation and cleanup, the Max XL will change the way you cook. Out of the box, Ninja's air fryer looks pretty massive - on the counter top, it looks like a giant coffee pot. With a 5.5-quart capacity, it does utilize all that room inside. It has a lengthy power cord which should allow you to place it anywhere in your kitchen. The display is large and easy to interpret, and the included cooking guide is very simple to understand. The cooking basket has a firm handle and feels very secure for constant pulling and placing into the fryer. The basket, crisper plate, and broiling rack are all dishwasher safe, so cleanup is as quick as its amazing cooking time. Speaking of cooking, the Max XL is so easy, a five-year old can do it. This is fact, as my kids enjoy helping to prepare their meals. They especially love the tater tots and corn on the cob they made with this machine. From tasty shrimp tempura, to crispy chicken wings, to roasted brussel sprouts, we were able to make quick, delicious dishes in a fraction of the time and care it would take on the stove top, not to mention the small (if any) use of oil for most of our dishes. The Max XL tackled each dish with success. If there's one complaint, the machine does appear to get very hot on the sides and near the top. While the literature does indicate this, some clearer warnings for consumers on the machine itself could be beneficial. We use this machine as much as we can. It truly is a game changer in my kitchen - no doubt it will be for anyone else. Ninja's Air Fryer Max XL is an easy recommendation for anyone who wants to simplify their cooking for delicious, healthy versions of the foods they already love. Works great to heat fast but smells always like hot metal. I was thinking that would only be for a few uses but it continues.

The plastic smell it emits is nauseating. The bake setting emitted a different very gross smell. It make work, but not sure I want the stinch when I'm preparing food. Big turnoff. Great if you're dieting because you don't have an appetite after. Nasty. So much for high praises it gets in reviews.

Haven't used it long enough for a full review, but it's fine so far. My only cons for now is the footprint on counter, it takes up a nice chunk, considering we don't have a big counter. Other than that, it is just fine.

The plastic on the side is burning. The cooking is ok but small. The burning on the sides would be the biggest concern

Love it! Don’t know how I’ve cooked without one for so long. It is so easy to use and dishes come out restaurant quality.

It works very good, got it for the teenagers at home easy to make quick meals.

Loved it, right up until month 14 when it died. No power no sign of life like the self-destruct timer went off to get me to buy a new one. Nope, went with another brand this time.

Excellent air fryer but a little frustrated that food hopper had a screw sitting in the bottom of it rather than secured inside. It is stripped out so may need to request new hopper.

Works well, however for the space there’s really not much you can do. I recently upgraded to the ninja foodi grill and I haven’t used this appliance since.
