I had to replace an old KitchenAid coffee maker. But, I wanted something similar, or better. My KitchenAid spoiled me. This Ninja coffee bar is even better - in most ways. My KitchenAid only made full carafes, but it had a lit area where it told me how long the coffee has been in the pot - up to two hours of keeping it warm. It also had a very audible beep when it turned off after the 2 hours. The Ninja does beep when the coffee is made, but doesn’t tell you how long it’s been since it was made. It also doesn’t beep when it shuts off. Not really a big issue, but I do miss that feature. The other options with the Ninja make it all worth it. The frother works perfectly! I flavor my milk, heat it, and froth it to mix everything into the milk. It’s nice leaving the coffee maker on because the preheating feature really does help. But, if you’re not going to use the coffee maker for a day or so, turn it off. The coffee maker does stay warm to the touch, and wastes electricity. Power it on about 3 minutes prior to making coffee to let it preheat. It just makes that cup of coffee a bit hotter. I have forgotten to add more water when making just cups of coffee. It will automatically stop brewing if you don’t have enough water I’m there. So, if it starts your drink, but stops early, be sure to check that you have enough water. I’m not sure it’s worth the amount of money I spent, but as long as it lasts for many more years, I’d say it was a good purchase. I am a bit partial to Ninja brand appliances. I also have a Ninja blender/processor set that’s been amazing for several years. One more note - do not put it under a cabinet. Steam comes out from the top.

Coffee made (more or less) complicated

The Ninja Coffee Bar looks like an eyeful. It has most of the bells and whistles you'd expect from a coffee creator of this caliber: large 50 oz. glass carafe; parts that are easy to disassemble and clean; an efficient, minimal step-by-step process; and even a robust coffee recipe book. While it is surprisingly missing one major facet of your morning coffee routine, the Ninja Coffee Bar is an impressive machine overall. I liked the little things. The button placement is sensible, from the clear displays, to the drip stopper, to the coffee size dial. The milk frother, if you like that sort of thing, slides easily behind the machine. The reusable filter is a plus, but it also gives you the option to use throwaways if that's your jam. Even the coffee scoop is attachable, sensibly placed on the machine, and contains simple scooping instructions for the coffee novice. The machine gives you options to make coffee at a variety of temperatures, and a full pot of coffee will take 3-4 minutes tops depending on the desired temperature. And speaking of time, the self-cleaning process is a nice touch, but it took longer than I had expected. Plan to perform maintenance at night or at times you don't desire a cup. The one major disappointment I found was the lack of a coffee bean grinder, which is shocking from a Ninja brand popularized by its blender line. It's more surprising than disappointing, I suppose, as the features of the Ninja Coffee Bar more than make up for its one deficiency. Coffee connoisseurs will enjoy the variety of functions and recipes the machine provides, while coffee tourists will like the single-serving styles and simple choices. The best feature of the Ninja Coffee Bar is that it has a little something for everyone. Full disclosure, I received this product for my honest, unbiased review.

I waited for this product with excitement, a coffee bar, wow. It looks cool and is fairly simple to operate after initially being a bit intimidating. We start our day with a large cup of coffee and let's just say that I have a little coffee with my sweetener AND flavoring. Lol. We make a half carafe, just press the preheat button, fill the water reservoir, add your ground coffee and select 1/2 carafe. Quickly & quietly you get a good cup of coffee. It beeps to let you know when its ready and will keep the pot warm for 2 hours or you can program a hold time you prefer. Frankly it tastes just as good as my cuisine art grind, burr & brew with freshly ground beans. There are a number of options to select different size cups with different strengths. On cold afternoons we have tried some of the recipes in the book that comes with the Ninja. Every option I've tried works well an we've enjoyed the frother attachment. Things are convenient with the attached scoop and frother attachment right on the system. All this being said, a cheap coffee pot with a wire wisk would probably do the job. All of the speciality coffees are pretty much a result of whatever milk and syrup you add, the strength of your brew and the #of cups you choose. It is fun when you have company to let folks choose their own options. We really like our ninja coffee bar and our cuisine art has gone away. But folks, I just don't get why you would pay $6 for specialty coffee when all you need is a frother, syrup and milk/cream. Oh yes, don't forget your favorite coffee blend.

I've had this for about a month now and have made several types and pots of coffee. I had forgotten about the aroma a freshly brewed pot fills the kitchen with. I've been spoiled by Keurig machines for the past 7 or so years and it wasn't going to be an easy task to walk away from them and start brewing pots again. I still can't do it every time, but there is room for both on my countertop so they both will stay. It's perfect for weekends while I'll be home and having more than 1 cup or when friends come by. I'll stick to my Keurig for mornings before work when I just want one cup. I know the Ninja can make single cups as well but the cleanup is the same as a pot and it's just not as quick. I started using the built in filter but quickly switched to the paper filters once I realized how many grounds were going down the sink when trying to clean it. Similar to the "brew your own" filters for the Keurig. Kind of defeats the purpose of quick when it takes longer to get it clean than to make the cup with it. It's winter time so ice coffee will have to wait a few more months but I am looking forward to brewing some coffee specifically for ice. I have no doubts it'll do a great job at it. Overall, I do really like the Ninja. It looks classy on the counter, makes a nice cup of coffee and is simple to set up and use. It's just cumbersome making coffee this way again after so many years of the K-cups. Perhaps I'll get used to it when my Keurig finally gives out and I don't get another one.

It's over average coffee machine, not espresso

The coffee taste and preferences are so personal that I found very complicate to draft this feedback. I’ve been testing this coffee machine for almost a month and, as European I have a strong preference for dark taste coffees, I am very happy with the brew obtained every morning. I am not an expert to say if this is due to the technology inside the machine (and it doesn’t matter to me) but is clear that the coffee taste is more powerful that the average machine that I had before. Easy to fill water and coffee, the cleaning process is quite easy and the different options and grades provided satisfy all my requirements (you have the “Americano light” if you wish). The machine new format, looks more integrated than the previous version, but is a bit bigger in volume. I like the possibility to use different size mugs or the carafe depending your needs and the function for keeping the coffee warm. Now, be aware that their strongest version is still not a real espresso. An additional info that you could consider, the machine is keeping the water hot for any brew anytime during the entire day so if you plan to save energy (and avoiding water to evaporate), you should consider to turn off when is not in use. Extra recognition to the electric cream frother integrated in the machine that transforms milk in cream in question of seconds. My picky 6-year-old son started to drink his new creamy chocolate thank to this accessory.

Great coffeemaker but 2 minor issues

This coffeemaker has a lot of great features and so far it's been making way better coffee than my last coffee maker and I'm still experimenting to find the perfect cup. The frothier is a wonderful feature and it comes with a recipe book to help you find the brew you're looking for. There are two design features of the coffeemaker that I would definitely change. The first is rather minor but was annoying. The water level indicators are on the side of the pot so if your pouring water into the water reservoir you can't see them if you're in front of the unit and pouring water in from the top. It is removable but if you'r holding it by the very convenient grip area, your hand is covering them. This was an easy fix and I just used a maker to indicate the same levels on the front of the reservoir so I can see when I've added the amount of water I want. The second thing I would change is the shape of the carafe The opening on the carafe is not big enough to fit your hand in for cleaning. I know you can get a sponge on a stick but I don't keep those in my house and I'm not going to start just for this one pot. My husband made the purchase and had I been there, I might not have purchased it for that one reason. But that's just me.....

Got this at Christmas time. Excited to unpack it and try out a fresh cup of joe. However, despite being very easy to assemble out of the box, before the first use you are recommended to put it through 2 cleaning cycles. Each cycle takes 1 hour. Takes a good bit longer to preheat than the Keurig 450 that we had previously. The water chamber is also smaller. With this Ninja there are no special pods to buy which is probably a big plus. You can use any brand of coffee. However, if you use a fine ground coffee you will need to use an additional filter. The frother is flimsy plastic but does seem to do its job, but DOES NOT HEAT THE MILK you have to do that in the microwave. Not sure how long that part of the machine will hold up. It detaches easily for clean up. Several washable parts are NOT dishwasher safe so it must be hand cleaned which is another negative of this product. The only other drawback versus the Keurig is the limited variety of beverages available for this machine. Keurig has some excellent ciders and hot chocolates that you can make with it. This does not offer that. If you are just a plain joe (or jane) coffee drinker I would go with the Keurig. If you like the fancy coffee drinks, this nifty machine will help you make them.

Purchased just over 2 months ago after having a Cuisinart on demand carafe free maker for 12 years. Took me a couple weeks to get use to all the options but finding it very easy to operate. There are also button options for Classic or Rich coffee, however for myself I found the Rich resulting in too strong for my personal taste but occasionally like using the Classic setting. Bought on sale for almost $50 less than the regular price making it about the same as I purchased my Cuisinart which had no "bells and whistles".

The Ninja - Coffee Bar Coffeemaker is like being your own barista in your home! Make sure after you set it up you run it through two cleaning cycles before you make actual coffee in it (Just so you know each cleaning cycle takes about an hour.). The Quick Start guide tells you to do this, but does not mention how long it will take. It is not hard to do, but wish the Quick Start guide mentioned the second stage flush cycle and how long the initial cleaning takes. Besides this not in the Quick Start Guide, the instructions are clear and easy very to read. It can brew one cup or a whole carafe, with multiple settings and coffee strength. The frother is an added bonus! There are also coffee recipes included. Ninja has done it again but in the coffee arena. Love it!

Pros: built-in frother is awesome. Reusable coffee filter is a nice option--removes the filter taste you get from other filter-coffee makers. I like that you can make a cup or an entire pot, or any amount in between. You can choose the strength of brew with a touch of a button . I'm super pumped about this buy overall. Cons: I wish it had a built-in coffee grinder. I got a separate grinder in this case. The stay warm-plate option doesn't seem to be as hot as my previous coffee maker. I'll drink a pot of coffee over the course of a few hours, so it needs to stay hot! Overall not too much to complain about!

Have had for around a month and love. Easy to clean. Makes great coffee. The frother works great and also easy to clean. The only reason for 4 stars. The carafe is only 10 cups. If you are used to a 12 cup standard pot and use most of it (I have 3 coffee drinkers) who load up in the morning to head to work. This can be a slight problem for the last person to get a full dose of coffee. The frother would be nicer if it was up a little higher on the side. I use a 30 oz yeti for my coffee and if I want to froth my creamer I have to use a separate cup.

Makes a great cup of coffee, but DO NOT use the permanent filter. The permanent filter makes a very cloudy pot of coffee & leaves dark rings in the crafe. I read in a forum where other people were having the same problem, it was suggested that paper filters be used, which I did, now the coffee tastes great, and is a nice crisp black. Also, after coffee is made, the water reseorvoir, a lot of water drops condense in the container. Solution, leave the resorvoir lid open to evaporate the condensation. Other than the above issues, which are easily resolved, it's worth the $!

I had the original ninja coffee bar with the metal carafe. It was great because it kept the coffee hot for hours without external heating. The new version has a glass one that loses heat quickly when not on the burner and makes the coffee bitter the longer it sits on the heat. I do like that they moved all the electronic components up on the side instead of having the clock and buttons in the base of the coffee maker, where it was prone to water damage.

I love that I can make a single cup for me, an xl cup for my husband during the week and then make a full pot on the weekends. My 4 star rating because it's not like hot hot hot coffee it's more of gulp warm temp? If that makes sense. I wish I could get a hotter cup but it's just not something I've figured out. Otherwise I love this coffee bar as I love all my ninja products

I am happy with the coffee bar except for one thing. I wanted to be able to make my mocha drink and only use the coffee bar. However, if you want hot froth, you are told to heat the milk in the microwave for a minute. In this one area I feel the product information is a little misleading. Had i know this, I would not have made the purchase. I do believe that the coffee being made in the carafe is very good and I do like the single serving better than using the Kerig because I can adjust the strength of the drink.

After having issues with my single-use coffee pod machine, I took a look at the Ninja. This is a pretty awesome coffee station. It handles small individual cups up to a full pot of coffee quickly and cleanly. No little pods, no paper filters. Frother works pretty good too, however it's ONLY a frother, you must warm the milk first before frothing. My only "criticism" of this unit. Really love the recipe book that's included. It's really a nice collection of tasty drinks.

This machine does a great job replacing both my single serve unit and the carafe/pot drip unit that I used when we had larger groups or weekend breakfast. I like that I can set it up the night before and have a hot single cup of coffee ready for me to grab when I come down the stairs and rush off to work in the morning. Minor points off for being pretty large and for not heating the milk when frothing (who wants to have the extra step of microwaving it). Those are minor and I'd absolutely buy this again.

I had wanted this machine for a long time and somehow was under the impression that it made espresso too. It does not and therefore is essentially an overpriced coffee pot. It's super easy to set up and use (I did an Instagram story about how easy the set up was) and it makes good coffee. The over-ice setting is not great to be honest but the regular brewed hot pot is good. Having a frother attached is cool but it doesn't froth non-dairy milk well at all.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my parents, but I have the exact same one. It is a great machine that is easy to use. The only drawback to this coffee maker is that it doesn’t make enough coffee for coffee hounds like me. I am used to a 10-12 cup coffee maker, and this is only about 4-5. Good coffee, but more time consuming and more expensive when you start doubling up on grinds to make more coffee.
