It took me a long time to make the final decision. But it’s the best decision I have taken. My son doesn’t pay attention to anything. But when he used the blender he asked mom where you bought it?. It’s a real good blender he said. Trust me you won’t regret it. It cleans easy, it blends every single piece, and you don’t have to open up the whole thing to add water or whatever you need to add. Awesome. It’s worth every penny.

The Ninja Detect Power Blender is a smart, simplified, and powerful blender that achieves quicker and smoother food blends. The Detect Power Blender itself is large. The base is square while the pitcher fits nicely atop. It has a protruding grip that makes it feel even larger and I recommend separating storage space for it. Aside from the handle being the one annoying part of the pitcher, I liked other small details with its design. The pitcher’s lid has a small handle that folds into the lid and a ‘release’ button that releases the suction of the lid from the pitcher. Additionally, the lid has a closeable opening for pouring liquids. As for the rest of the blender, the motor base has a small circular screen with the modes of the blender above it. As you turn the screen clockwise, it cycles through each mode and you can press down onto the screen to start it. The base also has suction cups below it that when set down, the base grips onto the counter, ensuring the blender will not move when powered on. Be prepared to struggle a little, if trying to move the blender to a different place on the counter. Its removable blade (huge plus for cleaning) is sharp and chopped vegetables nicely throughout its use. When removing the blade to wash, you could easily get hurt if not careful. With it being a “smart blender,” you have four programs to choose from, Manual, Blendsense, Pulse, and Mode. The Manual option allows you to choose how much time you’d prefer to blend your food in. By pressing the Blendsense option (Ninja’s greatest selling point and secret sauce), the blender automatically senses the type of ingredients that are in the blender and will do the blending for you. When you switch it to this mode and press on the screen to start, it will calculate which is the best mode to blend the ingredients and the time needed to blend them in the blender. With Pulse, you control how long you blend your ingredients and it helps with how thick you’d like smoothies to be. The Mode program will allow you to select which type of chop you’d like, including the mince option. Any mode you select, can be stopped by pressing in the dial. I’ve found the Blendsense option to be a great time saver and my decision maker for blending my ingredients. I can quickly put my food into the blender, slide the pitcher into place, turn it on, press Blendsense, and allow the blender to do all the work for me (literally helps when I didn’t know what the best option was to blend my ingredients). The first food I tried with the Blendsense technology was my homemade version of the “Grimace Shake,” and I think it came out blended to perfection at the thickness I wanted! It was able to read that it was a shake and the display read “Thick Mode.” Any other food I’ve blended has come out nicely as well; salsas, milkshakes, and smoothies were blended to the consistency I was looking for. Whichever program you select (other than pulse where you don’t have to press the dial), you can always adjust the blending time by pressing the dial in to stop the blender. Overall, I liked this simplified and smarter version that shares similarities to a previous model of the Ninja Power Blender that I own. It’s perfect for mornings, when one’s scrambling to finish grabbing one’s things and your breakfast is blending in the background, to saving you from chopping onions by hand and making you cry while preparing dinner. So far, I have not found any negative qualities about this blender and am, in fact, very satisfied with its use. I recommend you give this Ninja Detect Power Blender a try and see for yourself how easy and nice it is to use!

This is an amazing blender for everyday cooking. The results are perfect every time and it is loaded with power. The wow factor is high with the great display and great looks. It was hard to think of any negatives with this unit as it works great and is very well thought out. Pros: -Design -Blend quality -Color display -Smart blending -Ease of use -Easy cleaning Cons: -Very tall Setup: The unit is very easy to assemble. After cleaning, simply attach the base to the container, insert the blades, put the top on and plug it in, then you are ready to blend! Use: My first recipe (pictured) was almond milk, orange juice, strawberries, banana, ice, yogurt and blueberries. There are not many settings on this unit as it is primarily designed to detect what you are blending. After starting the “Blend Sense” mode, it spins for a few seconds then settles on “blend”. It ran for about 60 seconds and made perfect smoothing with minimal froth and no lumps. I tried a few other recipes that include greens and peanut butter and each time the smoothie came out perfect. My only complaint is the unit is very tall which makes it barely fit under my cabinets so I recommend you measure it out first to make sure it will fit in your kitchen. Cleaning: This unit is so easy to disassemble and clean, it is amazing. Pull a handle at the top and the top comes off, remove the blades by pulling on the top portion of the blade assembly (be careful, three sets of blades are extremely sharp), twist the base and wash. I dry the unit right away with a towel to ensure there are no water spots.

I’ve never fully used all the settings on a blender. I don’t trust that they’re all that different. Maybe it’s just me and my lack of knowledge. I also normally probably keep the blender going way longer than necessary. With the Ninja Detect Power Blender whether the settings are different or not, load the blender, push the button and it takes care of the rest. Set up for the most part with this blender was super simple. When I originally set it up it told me to “install” when everything was already put together…but that was largely due to the order in which I did everything. The blender looks very modern…nice addition to the rest of my small kitchen appliances. In terms of size, it’s far bigger than any blender I’ve ever had before. When it comes to ease of use…I love it. I’ve blended everything from fruits and veggies for smoothies to frozen adult beverages, and all of them came out perfect. This blender got me excited to toss stuff in it just to see how things turned out. I’ve probably used this blender more in the past week then I have any other blender for the past year. For those in the market for blender, I’d strongly recommend this one. For those happy with the blender they have at home…I’d strongly recommend this blender. A definite no-brainer purchase.

Simplicity and power combined in one blender

One of my first blenders was a simple one that only had levels 1-8 and a pulse option. It had a glass pitcher and was powerful enough to blend up ice. Since then, I’ve used many different types of blenders including Ninja brand blenders. One of the things I like about this model is that it combines Ninja’s power with old-fashioned simplicity thanks to the Blendsense technology. I’ve used it to make several different types of smoothies including straight up milkshakes and have even made a puree for soup. I found that I had to do very little in terms of determining what speed to use since the blender did that for me. It’s a simple blender for getting things done. Here is a quick synopsis of how the main features worked for me. Crushing Power One of my favorite things to do with a blender is make crushed ice. In fact, growing up, this was the only way we got crushed ice at home because our ice maker only provided full sized cubes. The Ninja blender’s 1800 watt motor has no problem with providing this icy treat. I was able to toss in full size ice cubes and watch it make frosty crushed ice that I could use in other drinks or even create slushie-type sodas. This beast of a motor doesn't flinch and in seconds, your concoction is transformed into a silky, frosty delight. I was even able to make an at-home version of snow cones. It wasn’t the shaved ice type, but the ice was crushed up enough to enjoy as a frozen treat. BlendSense Technology The main ‘technology’ feature of this blender is the BlendSense innovation that is built into the device. It’s almost like having your own personal smoothie sous-chef. While I still monitor it pretty closely, I have to say that the blender does a great job of figuring out what type of ingredients I’ve put in and how much power it needs to blend it all together. It detects the mix of fresh and frozen ingredients, adjusts the power, and precisely calculates the blending time. My mixtures have come out just right — not too chunky or too runny. In addition to type of ingredients, the blender takes into account the quantity of ingredients you've thrown in – if it's a massive breakfast bowl or just a quick snack. There is a manual control if you want to fine-tune the speed for yourself. Pitcher Size & Chop in the Pitcher The pitcher is a 72-ounce beast. It has the capacity to handle any type of blending recipe you throw at it. I’ve always struggled with this because even with simple powder-based smoothie recipes, I always seem to overfill when I add ice. This extra large pitcher has been just what I needed. I love that the blades go up the center of the blender. It really makes blending a breeze. Given its size, it is a little harder to store but that’s a minor issue in my opinion. Clean-up Based on how the blender is constructed I thought it might be hard to clean. Fortunately Ninja thought this through and made the blades removeable for easy cleaning. I’m also thrilled that it’s all dishwasher safe. I will usually give everything a good rinse before I put it in the dishwasher, but that’s just to get the excess debris loosened up. I’ve not had any issues with the blender elements getting clean in the dishwasher. Overall, the Ninja Blender Detect seamlessly combines power and simplicity. With its BlendSense technology, it's a breeze to make a variety of concoctions, from smoothies to milkshakes and soups. The 1800-watt motor effortlessly crushes ice, while the roomy 72-ounce pitcher handles large recipes with ease. Cleanup is a cinch, thanks to removable blades. While it may take up a bit more counter space, it's a testament to how far blender technology has evolved, harmoniously marrying the best of the past and present.

Stacked Blades & Blend Sense = Perfect Blend

We love the multiple blades on the stacked blade assembly and the auto sensing features in this Ninja blender. Whether we are pureeing vegetables or making frozen drinks we are getting the most consistent blend without having to do anything but push the start button. Due to the stacked blades I no longer have to stop blending and use a spoon to push the stuff sitting on the top down to the blades at the bottom before restarting the blender. Pros: - Multiple blades mounted on a center shaft that blend top to bottom - Auto sensing that adjust speed, time and required pulses - Locking lid with a pour spout - Removeable blades for easy cleaning Cons: - Blade shaft is not locked into place and will fall out when you pour ingredients with the lid off - At a little over 17 inches tall it may interfere with overhanging cabinets This is the first blender that I have owned that has blades mounted on a shaft that run up the center of the blender. The extra blades definitely move the ingredients throughout the pitcher much better than a bottom mounted blade system. This really becomes apparent when you are blending thicker or icier ingredients because the blades make sure the top ingredients are blended just as finely as the ingredients at the bottom. The 72 oz pitcher is plastic but it locks tightly into place when mounted to the base. The lid is a locking lid that keeps the center blade assembly centered in the blender. The lid does have a nice pour spout and you have to push a button to release the lid. If you remove the lid there is nothing that secures the blade assembly to the pitcher and it will come out when you attempt to pour something with the lid off. Even though we know this we still forget at times and end up with the blade assembly in our cup! The blender has suction cup feet that keep the blender sturdy on the counter. The Blend Sensing on this blender makes most jobs simple, you just hit the start button and it senses whether the items are frozen or not and how much torque is required to give you a consistent blend. Its not perfect but for most things it does a much better job than I can do using the 10 speeds and manual settings. We pureed vegetables and made frozen fruit smoothies using the auto sensing and it did a fantastic job - much better than my older blender. This blade system handles ice and frozen fruit without an issue. The auto sensing feature displays information in the dial on what it is doing and how long it will take to complete the function. If you don’t want to use the autosensing you can select different blend modes and speeds as well as modes for large chop, small chop and mincing. You can also use the pulse mode to add some additional blending. All the features are easy to navigate and select. As I mentioned above the stacked blade assembly really does give you more consistency throughout the blender. This blender is more powerful than our previous one but its not much louder if at all.

This is definitely one of the most high-tech and powerful blenders I've ever used! It feels like every little aspect of this blender's design was carefully and specifically chosen, and it leads to a fantastic blending experience and the ability to effortlessly blend any food like a professional! To start, the blender base has suction-cupped feet to keep it completely stable while power blending at any setting level. The blender base and 72oz pitcher are made of a high quality, durable plastic that can handle anything it needs to blend, with both being extremely solid in construction and ready to withstand the high powered blending it is capable of. The pitcher also has extremely handy measurement lines on the side to perfectly measure out any portion size for blending, and comes with a highly secure cover with a sealable pouring port to see into the pitcher, a straining wire to hold back chunky food pieces while pouring, and a built in handle and lock release button (which together serve as it's locking mechanism). Overall, the pitcher is very well built and serves it's purpose well, but with the large size of the blender base and pitcher combination, storage can be a bit difficult depending on your alloted space, as well as cleaning the pitcher can be a bit of a hassle as it is large and has small hard to reach nooks and crannies without the proper dish cleaning supplies. On the inside of the pitcher, there is a set of 3 super sharp inner blades that lie in the center of the pitcher, which is truly the key to its amazing blending capabilities! The power that this blender brings and quality of every blend I desire is amazing (note though that with the power comes noise, this blender can be very loud)! The blender uses a few different modes to achieve its high quality blends: BlendSense mode (my personal favorite) that allows you to push the start dial and achieve a perfect full blend with ease, manual mode that lets you select the blending power level (1-10), the classic manual pulse mode to easily blend further if needed, and three other modes for mincing, small and large chopping! All of these settings can be set using the intuitive smart dial (with a color screen!) and buttons on the blender base, which also give a great experience with information given during blending on the dial's screen! I highly recommend this blender if you're looking for a high powered, high quality blender!

The BlendSense technology in the Ninja Detect Power Blender Pro is truly amazing at determining the correct setting and time for whatever you place in the container, and then when you add in the build quality and capacity of this beast, you have an absolute home run. First, let's talk about the capacity. As you can see from the photos, this holds up to 1.9 liters, which I found especially useful for making margaritas, being able to make 3 at a time for my guests. It's a tremendous time saver for large jobs. Next, the 3 layers of blades are able to chop and crush quickly and efficiently; this is so much better than just one blade at the bottom which was the case with my former blender, which took substantially longer to make smoothies and frozen cocktails, and especially with ice it always left some number of chunks untouched. Not so with this product. The lid is even unique, having a flip up pouring spout, and a locking push bar that affirms that the lid is firmly in place and isn't going to fly off. Included in the box is a recipe book to inspire you to use the Blender Pro to make all kinds of frozen drinks, smoothies, and other concoctions. The best part though has to be the intelligence built into the blender. I'm at a loss to explain how it knows, but it does! My favorite thing to make is a strawberry banana smoothie with a fresh banana, a handful of frozen strawberries, and a half cup of chocolate milk. I put them all in the blender and press the start button in auto detect (BlendSense) mode. In a few seconds, it determines the time and intensity of the blend, and less than a minute later I have the perfect consistency smoothie for breakfast. I have documented the entire process in the attached photos. I take my reviews seriously and generally try to come up with some constructive criticism, even for products I give 5 stars to, and I really struggled to come up with anything for this product; however, I do have a suggestion for a future, similar product: Because the blender is so large at nearly 2 liters, that's a LOT of surface area that holds onto whatever you're blending. It takes me a good minute using a small spatula to scrape what ends up being a decent amount of smoothie off the walls of the blender. I think it would be awesome to come up with a custom shaped squeegee/spatula that could pull whatever is stuck to the walls of the blender off, in the interest of less waste and saving time. Overall, I enthusiastically give the Ninja Detect Power Blender Pro 5 stars. It's going to save you time and effort, and really make you look like a top chef with recipes that come out the perfect consistency.

    This Blender Does Not Disappoint

I’m a simple man. I just want to dump a bunch of frozen fruit and juice….and cross my fingers that the blender does the job without any intervention. Sadly, I haven’t been able to experience this with 100% success with my past blenders. I’ve had those blenders with “tech” in the name, and I’ve owned a blender that had "vitamin" in its name. At some point, I’d have to intervene to allow the blender to completely blend my smoothie at the consistency that I want. The Ninja Blender Detect has exceeded my expectations in the auto blend department. I've made several smoothies thus far and every time the Ninja blends perrfectly without any intervention. Now the big difference I see is in the blade design. Most blenders have a spinning blade that sits at the bottom and creates a vortex to allow ingredients at the top to make its way down. More often than not, that vortex created only blends the bottom half of the entire blender jar. The Ninja has a towering blade that stands almost as tall as the blender jar. This allows for blending at all levels of the large 72oz blender jar, and it works really well. The Detect aspect of this blender is pretty sleek. It is able to detect how much effort is needed to blend your ingredients and apply a blending profile automatically. They call it BlendSense, and it will adjust the blender's speed, pulses and run time. With a peak wattage of 1800w, this blender doesn't shy away from the most toughest frozen fruit or ice. Ninja is telling us to trust the machine to do the work the best way that it can. Using the blender is very easy. I love that you have to lock in the blender jar to the base in order for you to turn it on. This assures that the motor is in full contact with the blade mechanism. Then you simply turn on the blender using the power button, then press the big center button and let BlendSense do it's thing. The blade itself is removable from the blender jar, so after you're done blending your ingredients, you can simply pull the blade out of the jar and you'll be left with your blended goodness. No need to fish for that little bit of smoothie underneath the fixed blade like other manufacturers. For those power users, yes you can still choose from manual settings just like most blenders on the market. The blender is actually on the quiet side for me, and that's always a plus. Cleanup is just as easy. The entire blender jar, blades and lid are dishwasher safe. There are holes in strategic places of the jar to allow the water to drain while in the dishwasher so it's not pooling up after a wash cycle. Overall, I'm very impressed with this blender, and it has a new spot on the countertop. Ninja provides a one-year warranty.

This blender is awesome!!! I wanted to add more fruit and vegetables to my daily diet and the Ninja makes a smoothie to perfection!! I throw the frozen fruit, fresh spinach, banana and a cup of unsweetened almond milk in, push a button and walk away while the magic happens and DONE! The blenders I’ve owned in the past don’t compare, the Ninja, which has multiple blades, is very effective in puréing.

    Heavy Duty Blender

This is a heavy-duty blender with some really nice features but it’s not perfect, especially for me. Feature wise, this blender is very sturdy. It has a heavy base with suction cup feet in the front. Once placed on the counter, it’s not going anywhere. The pitcher is quite large and the lid locks in place. The lid also has a covered spout to pour your blends. I was able to make 6 smoothies in one shot. The personal blender I previously used can do 2 at most. The pitcher twists and locks onto the base for a solid connection. The blades are very sharp and quite large. Maybe too sharp and large. You need to be very careful adding ingredients as these blades will cut you if you touch them as I learned the hard way. More on this later. I used a wooden spoon to push the ingredients to the bottom of the pitcher. The main feature of this blender is that is supposed to sense the ingredients, adjust the speed of the blades and set a length of time to blend automatically. You just add your ingredients and hit the start button. There are also settings for selecting speed for yourself (1-10), Pulse, Mince, Small Chop and Large Chop. I made a family sized smoothie that included fresh kale, spinach, carrots, tomatoes and a banana. Frozen blueberries and strawberries. As well as some yogurt, orange juice, water and a bunch of supplement powders. One of the powders is a protein powder that froths up and really thickens the smoothie. I usually add it after I blend all the other ingredients because it can bog down a blender. As a test, I added this powder with all the other ingredients. I set the blender to automatic and pressed the start button. It flashed sensing for a few seconds, set a time of 48 seconds and displayed the word Blending. After about 20 seconds or so, the smoothie started to thicken and the blender sensed this. The display changed color, added some time to the blend and displayed “Thick Mode” on the screen. Once the time was up, the blender stopped. There was a slight electrical smell. I’m not sure if this was because the motor was at its limit or if it was because the blender was new. Despite this, the smoothie came out great. It was thick and very nicely blended. I really like the versatility of this machine. In the future, I will likely add the protein powder after the initial blend Now for the things that don’t work for me. First, this is a big blender compared to the personal blender I had been using. I have very limited counter and storage space. It’s tough for me to find room for this thing. Second, as noted earlier, the blades are “very” sharp making it difficult to clean them. I cut my finger the first time I tried even being very careful. I do not have a dishwasher so I have to wash them in my sink. I did try to rinse the pitcher, blade and lid and then run some soap and water through a quick cycle. That didn’t go well. The soap foamed up quickly and made its way through the gaskets making a mess on my counter. I do really like this blender. If you have the space for it and a dishwasher so you don’t have to hand wash the blade, I would recommend this blender without hesitation. If you are limited in space and/or wash your dishes in a sink, I would likely say you should look in a different direction.

I love this blender. It blends really nicely. When I was shopping for a blender, one. of the things I was looking for was a blender that had a blade that covers the entire length of the pitcher. So many times, I have used a blender that only has a blade at the bottom of the pitcher. This makes for a much more difficult way to blend up items such a ice and fruit. I absolutely love this blender.

The Ninja Detect Power Blender outshines my previous blenders over the years. It’s technically innovation with the BlendSense technology is remarkable. It senses your input ingredients and blends them so you don’t need to figure the time or blending speed. The range and blending manual controls are very straightforward to use. If rating 10 is the best, from using the unit would rate it a 15. Very easy to use and well built unit. Highly recommend.

I bought this last weekend because it was highly rated on several web sites and had good reviews here. My friend talked about frozen margaritas. I wanted it for smoothies. I had a cheap blender before and it didn't last long. I decided a better mixer was in order. I brought it home and unpacked it. It was bigger than I expected, but that was a good thing. I skimmed the directions (I'm a guy, after all, and we don't read directions) and saw the warning about the sharp blades. Of course, while I was washing the blades, I sliced my finger. So be warned, the blades are exceedingly sharp. But that is a great thing, IMHO. So I made my first smoothie. It ran through the frozen fruit like it was putty and produced a wonderful smoothie. I have used it almost daily since then. I highly recommend this product. I love the sensing and mixing part. I can't say how it will do with other things but I like the ease of pushing the button and letting it go. The only drawback for some people may be that it may not make small batch items. The blades don't really reach to the bottom. Again, that's not an issue for me but if you are expecting a traditional blender with the blades in the bottom this is not for you. I only gave it four stars for the ease of use. The blade tree is a bit large and cumbersome. That's by design, of course, but it requires some care.

I had many blenders throughout the years but this one is a beast. It is so powerful that it crashes ice in seconds. Easy to use and clean. Compared to other expensive blenders, this one is a steal.

Very good blender. I make Mexican soups using chili pods and you don’t even have to strain the sauce it blends it so well. One negative is if you overfill it does splash out, but overall I love it.

I am so happy I purchased this blender. Just put all the ingredients on the pitcher, push the start button and it’s intelligent enough to select how long to blend it … I would recommend it to others!
