I have always been a huge ninja kitchen product fan saw the double stacker air fryer and I said definitely need an upgrade to save space on the counter. So I ordered one from Best Buy it came. We took it out. It was smashed on the bottom so the whole bottom was cracked. There was pieces of plastic everywhere. OK sent that but I took that back to Best Buy ordered another one that one came yesterday and it was used like really Best Buy come on gonna go for number three if number three strike you’re out.

I already have a Ninja air-fryer (Pro 6XL) which is used regularly, and is fantastic. Often I wish to cook 2 items, so thought the DoubleStack XL would be the perfect solution - compact, with good capacity. Unfortunately, now I've been using the DoubleStack for 10 days it clearly isn't as versatile as the Pro 6XL; the cooking time is much longer (almost twice as long) and the machine is noisy! Sadly, I'll be returning the DoubleStack to opt for the less elegant second Pro 6XL on my countertop.

We were very excited to get this new double stacked air fryer to replace a regular air fryer. I’m not sure if it’s the double stack feature or not but we’re having trouble with the food heating up properly. It seems the back of the basket the food cooks fine but the front of the basket the food is cold and not cooking so it’s like it’s not circulating the air properly or something. We’re working on getting a return and a refund, but we’re outside of the return. So it’s becoming difficult. Definitely will not exchange this item. We will buy a single basket air fryer.

I picked this item up to replace my old 8 quart unit that just quit working. I use air fryers a lot and have a 5 and 6 quart model, but when cooking for my family if 4, the 8 quart was used a lot more. This unit combined has 10 quarts, so a fair replacement. I really like the dual zone that I can cook at two Temps for 2 different times, or I can actually use a feature button and have both units matched. The baskets are unique to me because they come with a rack that splits the height in half so you can cook a vegetable below and a meat on top. There is a small sheet included with ideas and pairings. The heat in these blows from the back and not from the top, but it seems to cook fairly evenly. It made Crisp fries and breaded items right the first time i used it (started simple). It is a bit of a learning curve on how long to do things with 2 layers in a basket, but all came out well. The times are not much different from my old 8 quart or my 5 quart. My 6 is a bit longer. This does not pause itself when you pull the basket out, you have to hit the pause button, an odd thing I'll have to grow used to. All my others stop.I have not ever used another dual bin one before to know how a side to side cook, but i imagine not much different than a standard single basket. This does not seem to be too different from my others. The footprint is unique, with the baskets stacked, so less width on my counter, depth is a bit deeper due to where the elements are, and the vent is to the side on the right, behind the control panel. This fits under my standard cabinets still very easily. The controls are easy enough to use, different to me because my other fryers before this did not have multiple settings like reheat, bake, it was just airfry. There are 6 on this (airfry, air broil, bake, roast, reheat, and dehydrate). You have an extra step of select cook type, then select temp and time I have used the bake for warming some garlic bread, and did airfry for chicken and fries, and reheat for pizza recently, all came out good and even. I like the racks that come with this. It allows me to either do two things on separate levels (usually veggie below, meat above), but what i’ve done is use meat in one basket, veggie in other. The racks are easy in and out with the handles, and securely sit in the basket notches. I had to use after market in my old large one and it was easy enough, but this is better. Cost wise, this is comparable to like models. I do reccomend this and really have nothing to deduct any stars from it.

    Space Saving DoubleStack

The Ninja brand has done it again. Air Fryers have been quite the rage of the past few years and both myself and wife have religiously used our Air Fryer for multiple tasks from main dishes, side dishes, reheating foods, crisping that ever so not crisped item and more. We have been using Ninja brand for Air Fryer since the double bucket Foodi came out with complete satisfaction, the only downfall really being the amount of counter space it would take up. This is why I went for the DoubleStack XL and overall definitely satisfied. The DoubleStack XL takes up about 1 foot of counter space width wise while providing a significant amount of 10 Quarts of cooking space. There are two buckets, stacked on top of each other (hence DoubleStack). The buckets slide in and out easily; however, have to be mindful when pulling out the top bucket that if pull too far will tilt/come out downwards. Just an adjustment when used to both buckets being at counter level. There are metal racks that allow you to stack within the buckets. This can allow for division of food from top and bottom of one bucket. If needed, could cook 4 foods at two different temperatures with this feature. The heating elements are located toward the back and appear to push air forward into the buckets for circulation. I had seen a couple reviews prior to getting the Air Fryer that there were parts of the food which did not get cooked through. Since using the DoubleStack, I tend to take out the bucket and shake it some to move around the food and with this action have had no issues with thorough cooking. You are able to have the different cook style per basket along with temperature setting and time. There is a setting to allow for timing of both buckets completing at the same time, but I have not found that to be of benefit for myself (others may enjoy finishing up that meal exactly). The control panel being off of the side is a bit weird though, as it adds to the overall dimentions without adding cook space. I do feel as if the design made it limited as you would not want to take up more height necessarily, but the panel itself seems out of place. Ultimately, the DoubleStack XL allows for the Air Frying technology that I have come to love with a condensed space saving design. That is the most impressive/important feature of the DoubleStack. When kitchen counter space is limited in most homes, this allows for a countertop Air Fryer that is not taking up the whole counter.

This is everything I wanted in an Air Fryer, the dual areas with a rack in each which means I can cook with 4 layers is perfect. I cooked two layers of chicken nuggets for the kids and then below I cooked 2 layers of mozzarella cheese sticks for everyone. Then another time I did mini potatoes below with chicken nuggets above. The air fryer sees a lot of chicken nuggets. There is a book that comes with it that gives a ton of suggestions on what time and degree to cook several different meats at which has come in handy. Personally, I love air fryers as fries, nuggets, and other traditionally fried items just don’t taste the same from the microwave and the oven takes too long. The Air fryer is medium fast and much better tasting, it’s crisp. The dehydrator is something that I am excited to try more, it made some good apple chips, but I haven’t gotten to try jerky yet. It is also easy to clean. I love the usability of the interface. Select which device, choose which took type (air fry, dehydrate, etc), click temp and set, click time and set, and then press start and your done. The match cook is a cool feature if you are cooking all the same thing (like a ton of nuggets) that saves 30 seconds. The smart finish is really nice if you cooking two different things that you want finished at the same time. Overall, I am really impressed with the usability, capacity, and functionality of this air fryer. I can’t think of anything that I don’t like about it.

Excellent Fryer That Is Well Built

The Ninja DoubleStack XL is a fantastic air fryer. I have never used a dual basket fryer but immediately love this device. Design First, this is an all metal design. No real plastic on it. It's built very well and the space saving feature is a great addition. Both drawers hold a great deal of food. The racks are very nice as well. Function One of the best features is you can set separate times for each basket with different temperature settings. I have cooked fries to perfect crispiness in one basked and chicken patties in the second basket. In a single basket fryer it was hard to get both to cook right since it was time and temp for one or the other. The other item that is a nice addition is a cooling function. Once done cooking the basket will be cooled a bit to protect from burns. The food is not affected by the cooling. Cleaning The baskets and racks fully dishwasher safe. The unit itself is designed as to not pick up fingerprints so cleaning the unit is very simple. Overall I am very happy with this fryer. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality fyer.

A nicely thought out Air Fryer

This Ninja Double Stack XL 2-basket air fryer replaces an older air fryer (different manufacturer) that I had been using for a couple of years now. I primarily used my old air fryer to cook steaks, very rarely cooking veggies or any other protein dishes. So, I was naturally concerned about this Ninja Double Stack’s ability to cook steaks to my liking. While I did use the old air fryer to cook potato fries and other veggies when needed, I didn’t like how I was limited to cooking only one item at a time. This Ninja Double Stack air fryer, in contrast, can cook four items concurrently. What a difference. Size-wise, this 2-basket fryer is 15.4” tall, 19.22” deep, and has a width of 11.25”. These dimensions make the unit much easier to lift and move around compared to the larger and heavier older unit. Some specs on this unit: • Model: SL401 • Wattage: 1,690W • Some components are dishwasher safe, while others should/must be hand washed • Each of the two baskets has a capacity of 5 quarts • Cooking functions include: Air Fryer, Roasting, dehydrate, Broil, Bake, Reheat I mentioned cooking steaks with my older unit. In contrast to this Ninja air fryer, the old unit required you to pre-heat the cooking area prior to starting any cooking process. Thus, five minutes of waiting around until the old fryer was sufficiently pre-heated. Once it was sufficiently pre-heated, the steak would cook for 10 minutes at 500 degrees. This new Ninja Double Stack unit doesn’t have the pre-heating requirement. Steaks now take 15 minutes at 390 degrees. Pause the cooking halfway to flip the steak and add additional seasoning. The resulting steak was very tasty! Not undercooked, not overcooked. Each of this air fryer’s two baskets come with a crisper plate and a meal rack. In a standard configuration, baskets will locate the crisper at the bottom and the meal rack at the top. For cooking the steak, the manual recommends removing the meal rack and placing the crisper in the top slot. Not all protein recipes suggest this configuration, but many do. As with most air fryers, the instructions suggest shaking the baskets when cooking veggies to ensure that the veggies are evenly cooked. This dual basket system is no different in that regard. Cooking veggies on the crisper or the meal rack is generally dictated by how hearty the veggie is. Potatoes, broccoli, and other more hearty items would be cooked on the crisper while more delicate items like green beans and asparagus will go on the upper rack. Cooking times also vary depending on what item you’re cooking. Heartier items like broccoli will cook for between 45-50 minutes, while the green beans (more delicate) will cook 35-40 minutes. This Ninja Double Stack unit has a couple of interesting features I should mention. Let’s start with the Double Stack Pro button. By selecting this button, you’re letting the unit know that you plan on using both baskets to cook food. After selecting basket #1 and programming it for time and temperature, you can use the Match Cook button to instruct basket #2 to use the same time and temperature parameters. This saves time on your part, but only if the items in basket #2 are intended to cook at the same time and temperature as basket #1. Then there’s the Smart Finish button. I used this one when cooking veggies in basket #2 while cooking the steak in basket #1. As previously mentioned, the steak cooked for 15 minutes at 390 degrees. The veggies in basket #2 will cook longer and at a different temperature. By selecting the Smart Finish button, the Ninja started cooking the veggies first, then kicked off cooking the steak in basket #1 when then veggies were about 15 minutes from completion. This allowed the steak and the veggies to finish cooking at the same time. All in all, I like this unit. It is easy to move around, has tons of features, and thus far has done a really good job of cooking my food. I’m giving it a rating of 5 stars.

Review for Ninja® DoubleStack™ XL 2 Basket Multi Rack Air Fryer - We’ve been using a family-sized, extra-large air fryer for so many years, I didn’t think you could find one that would hold as much food but not take as much counter space. This Ninja model is an improvement over the double-drawer, side-by-side models that let you do so much, but sacrifice valuable counter area. Having tried a number of air fryers over the years, I thought I had settled on our extra-large one, but I’m very impressed with this model’s design. It lets you cook two baskets of the same food to feed a huge crowd, or two entirely different meals, if you have, for example, fussy kids. Imagine salmon and brussel sprouts in one basket and chicken nuggets and fries in the other. Each basket has a non-stick crisper tray that holds the food up slightly so that the circulating hot air can go over and under the food plus a metal rack that sits above the food on the crisper tray to hold even more food. The controls are pretty straightforward, although it’s important to read the manual to see how the two baskets can be used together or separately. You can set the time and temperature for each basket and then use Smart Finish to have them both finish at the same time, or you can load both baskets with the same cooking needs and use Match Cook to have them both share the settings without having to set each basket individually. Cleanup of the trays and baskets is easier than my old unit and the non-stick coating on the crisper trays and baskets is excellent. Two notes, if you’re planning how this fits in your kitchen and lifestyle: the controls are on the right and may be inconvenient for left handed people and the exhaust vents for the unit are also on the right. So, although it may fit nicely on your counter, even under overhead cabinets, you have to leave room on the right for the unit to exhaust properly. Finally, and this may seem petty (no pun intended) but the audio signal does NOT send my dog into fits, like some other models I have owned.

    Versatile cooking for this novice

This is my new favorite kitchen device. I have been into air frying for some time now, and our recent air fryer is great but we can only really cook one item at a time. With this Ninja DoubleStack XL, we can cook up to four different items at the same time. I love the double stacked look as it does save space in our small kitchen. The control panel is very simple to use. The display gives you which tray you want to use (One or Two), as well as six different cooking styles. The Temp and Time knob is easily adjustable, and if you want to use the Double Stack, the options are there for additional adjustments. Also, the best feature is the Smart/Match Cook features. Even though it is a double stack, my initial thoughts were if you are cooking two items in the same tray, it has to be the same settings. I was wrong. The air flow is designed for the double stack with either a Smart Finish feature where you can control cooking two foods with two ways, or the Match Cook feature which mimics the settings for all of it. I love that my foods come out crispy and cooked all the way through. So I did try putting a whole chicken (which they state a 5lb bird can fit), so it's a Cornish Hen basically. It did slightly burn the top because of the size of the bird, but it was cooked all the way through. I also did put sweet potato fries and asparagus in the other tray using the basket and it cooked them really well. Cleaning is a breeze as very efficient. as it is non-stick and dishwasher safe. I don't use the dishwasher, but washing in the sink is effortless. As a novice cook, this really helped and elevated the amount of food and reduced my time. Cooking multiple items at the same time was once daunting and took too long, but now, this really helped lower that time and bring more food to my plates faster.

This is probably the most efficient piece of appliance I ever had. Every so often, we heat up pizza, fish sticks, fried / rotisserie chicken, fries, calamari, fish, and almost any leftover. There are so many advantages of this air fryer versus our current “all-in-one air fryer: 1) This air fryer ONLY USES THE SPACE WE NEED. In our old one, you heat the whole thing up, and use probably max 70% of the tray. With this air fryer, I can opt to only use one tray. 2) Because we only use what we need, it is very ENERGY EFFICIENT. It does not draw up too much power that I can use it alongside my microwave. Before I cannot use my previous air fryer with the microwave at the same time. 3) I want to mention the SPACE it saved. It reduced the size of my current air fryer by almost half, and this doublestack air fryer still does what we usually use the air fryer for. It takes up the same height but the least width. And it still does the job for us—a family of 6 at less time. 4) I can cook TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT dishes at the SAME TIME. I know I have a microwave as well, but this appliance makes me focus on what I need to do by doing it all on one machine, and I can easily time it too. Plus, the size on each tray is deceiving-- they actually hold a lot. 5) Moms, please pay attention. This one is VERY EASY TO CLEAN. I have not found an air fryer that is easy to clean. The grill, the tray, the under tray—this one, has components that are easy to detach, clean and run in the sink! 6)It LOOKS GOOD on the counter. It saves space and it looks good—I think it’s a no-brainer. I don't think I have any con to mention with this appliance. Ninja has come way far from when it started making powerful blenders. Now they are making efficient air fryers too. I think this one should be a home requirement.

I got this unit for what it was - a high capacity unit with the ability to cook a notable amount of food. Having used an air fryer previously, I anticipated that this would be the equivalent of having a couple units - which it is. But I also anticipated that the cooking durations would be roughly equivalent of having a couple units - which in my initial experience is not the case. My initial view was favorable of this unit. It is slender enough to not take up too much counterspace, while still fitting under a cabinet. The unit is light enough to shift around, including placing it away in storage when not in use. It is a very intuitive unit to use, with simple displays and a clear understanding of how to control one or both of the cooking trays. Giving it an initial run with frozen sweet potato fries, the unit took closer to 30 minutes to crisp up the fries versus the advertised 20 minutes. These were standard-sized fries, so there was nothing out of the ordinary. The experience was the same with cooking additional food in the unit. The food comes out great, but with the realization that it just takes longer than the advertised amount of time to fully cook up (and crisp) the food. Overall, I like this unit. It does what it is intended to do - cook a lot of food within a single unit. I do recommend this air fryer, but with the awareness that - in my experience at least - it will take longer to cook than defined in the manual and cook sheet.

This is my second Ninja air fryer. I've had a 2-basket Ninja for the last few years it has seen a lot of use in my kitchen. It's only shortcoming, in my opinion, was it was a bit too small to feed a family of five. But now Ninja has the DoubleStack XL, a 10 quart, 2-basket fryer that also has the ability to stack ingredients using elevated grills to take advantage of even more space within the fryer. In addition, there are bake, roast, broil, and dehydrate functions, making this a very versatile unit. I generally use the air fryer function the most, and the Ninja DoubleStack XL excels in doing so. Last night I had company over and needed to make chicken breasts for 6 people. The Ninja had enough room (doublestacking the top basket) to cook all 6 breasts at one time. And these were 3/4 pounders. I rubbed them with olive oil and seasonings, and 20 minutes in the fryer was enough to kick out amazingly juicy breasts with a nice seared outside. I've air fried pork chops, green beans, asparagus; I've baked corn bread, even made s'mores. The Ninja DoubleStack XL is a great appliance to have in the kitchen and keep from having to fire up the big oven or cook in hot oil over a hot stove. Next up for me is trying to roast a 5 pound chicken. The Ninja says it can do two of them, one in each basket, at the same time. I look forward to giving it a try! Highly recommended.

Okay, so this is a REALLY nice air fryer...but I think it should be a little bit bigger. Hear me out. Okay so let's start with the size of each tray, they are not nearly as big as I thought they would be. But they are still big. The pictures shown, make them look really huge. So knowing that, I still think they are a decent size. Whole chicken though? Maybe a small whole chicken, not a big one at all. You can for sure stuff a medium size chicken in there, but you will not be able to get anything bigger than that in there for it to cook properly. The trays are nice and deep when you remove the grills inside, so that is good. You will be able to cook a LOT of food in there, and it cooks evenly too. Cooking instructions: They are very simple, just look on the box or look on the fryer. They are listed all over it. I like that too, but after a few uses...you will be able to decide how long you want to cook your food to your taste like all things. Food takes great, and is not greasy at all. Like most air fryers, they cook your food quickly and it comes out great every time. The price is very competitive for what you get, and this is a well known brand for high quality products. Build quality is strong, and solid. No issues. Buttons are tight, and easy to understand. This is a solid purchase to add on to your kitchen collections, it's worth it. Buy it now...

We are a family that have always loved shark and ninja products. They always try to balance innovation with a tried and true design. With everyone trying to one up each other Ninja has always tried to innovate without forgetting what makes their products so good and reliable and I appreciate that and this is no different. I think you can only go so far with an air fryer but maybe not. Ninja updated the visuals which was a good thing as this blends much better visually with the current trends. The stacking design is definitely a game changer especially when counter space is at a premium. I also love that both chambers now are completely independent of each other as on the previous version you were still sacrificing heat and cook times when using one drawer. Feature wise it’s very much the same as previous generations and that’s a good thing. The improvements they have made is game changing. Cooking times are improved and the new rack system is great. Sometimes small improvements wind up bigger than what shows up on a specs sheet. Nice work Ninja.

I have love ninja products for quite some time now, so I was excited when I seen the double stack with two baskets instead of just the one! I have a few ninja products that I have purchased over the years and still used to this day. I'm trying to eat a little bit more healthier nowadays, so I try to find better foods to eat and better ways to cook them. Air frying your foods are one of the simplest ways to help lower calories. So when I received the air fryer, I was anxious to look at what I normally look at first which is the recipes. And all the recipes were pretty simple and straightforward, so I figured I would Cook one of the things I love to cook the most, which is a skinless chicken breast. I usually make these in one of my other ninja products all the time, and I wanted to see how much simpler it could be with this air fryer. The first thing I did was open up the booklet with the recipes in there, and seen that to fully cooked the chicken breast you would need to temperature at 390°. So I popped it into one of the baskets set the settings to broil, the time to 30 minutes the recipe says and push start. So when the air fryer beeped, I opened it up and pulled out the chicken to find it was overcooked and somewhat dry. So I thought that I originally had it set too high and thought that I didn't do 30 minutes and thought I made a mistake. So I plopped in another piece of chicken and did 30 minutes again with the same result. So at this point, I was going to rush and do the review for this at 3 stars. I decided to continue cooking a few more meals and not looking at any of the recipes Time limits and set my own, and the food came out perfect! So after cooking chicken legs, chicken thighs, Country style ribs, and a hamburger that all came out perfect, I decided to change what I was going to originally rate at 3 stars to five stars! My recommendation to whoever wants to buy one of these, is not to follow the recipes Time limits.

The Ninja DoubleStack XL 10 QT, 6-in-1, 2-Basket Air Fryer has quickly become a favorite in my kitchen. With its space-saving design and ability to cook multiple foods simultaneously, it’s a versatile appliance that has transformed how I prepare meals. At first glance, its stacked design might seem unconventional, but it cleverly maximizes counter space while offering the functionality of two air fryers in one compact unit. This is particularly beneficial for smaller kitchens like mine, where counter space is always at a premium. What sets the Ninja DoubleStack XL apart is its DoubleStack Air Frying technology. This innovation allows you to cook up to four different foods at once, thanks to the stacked meal racks. These racks create two levels per basket, ensuring that superheated air surrounds each food item for an all-around crisp. I found this especially useful when preparing a variety of dishes for a family meal, as I could cook proteins and vegetables simultaneously without compromising on texture or flavor. One of the standout features is the Smart Finish and Match Cook options. The Smart Finish feature synchronizes the cooking times for different foods, so everything finishes cooking at the same time. This has been a game-changer for my meal prep, as it eliminates the guesswork and ensures a coordinated, hot meal. On the other hand, the Match Cook feature is perfect for larger, single-batch meals, easily replicating settings across both baskets for full 10-QT capacity. The DoubleStack is not just about functionality; it’s also about efficiency. With six versatile cooking programs—Air Fry, Air Broil, Roast, Bake, Reheat, and Dehydrate—it has replaced several appliances in my kitchen. I particularly enjoy the Air Broil function, which gives my dishes a beautiful, crispy finish without the need for excess oil. This air fryer claims to reduce fat by up to 75% compared to traditional frying methods, and in my experience, the results are just as delicious and much healthier. My initial skepticism about the new design was quickly dispelled after testing it with various meals. One of my first tests was cooking chicken and waffle fries. Despite my concerns about even heat distribution with the heating elements positioned at the back, the DoubleStack cooked everything uniformly. The chicken tenders were evenly cooked, with no noticeable difference between those placed at the front and back of the basket. Cleaning up after cooking is a breeze with the DoubleStack. The baskets and crisper plates are easy to clean and dishwasher-safe, which is a huge plus for someone like me who prefers minimal cleanup. This ease of cleaning has made the air fryer an even more integral part of my cooking routine, as I’m not deterred by the prospect of a lengthy clean-up process after meals. Over the past week, I’ve used the DoubleStack to prepare a handful of different meals, and it consistently delivers impressive results. Whether I'm cooking chicken, fish, vegetables, potatoes, or even experimenting with baking, the outcomes are always satisfying. The ability to double stack food has also reduced my reliance on the microwave and stovetop, streamlining my cooking process significantly. In conclusion, the Ninja DoubleStack XL has exceeded my expectations in every way. Its innovative design, versatile functionality, and efficiency make it an invaluable addition to any kitchen. While the smaller basket volume means I often use both baskets for a full meal, the convenience of cooking multiple items at once far outweighs this minor drawback. For anyone looking to enhance their cooking experience with a reliable, space-saving appliance, I highly recommend the Ninja DoubleStack XL.

Overall this is an excellent air fryer. Ninja makes excellent products and this is no different. The only personal drawback for me is the design of the control panel. Again for me personally, I wish it could have been more strategically placed. Maybe across the top or something. So that is the only reason I gave four stars instead of five. Otherwise this is a very powerful and effective cooker. You can do it all with this unit. Cook in dual mode, cook 4 things at once and even time multiple items to be done at the same time. The metal trays that come with it are extremely handy. It allows you the comfort of being able to actually separately cook your choices without having things clumped together in one pot. You can also broil, dehydrate, air fry, reheat bake and even air broil. I've made chicken, hamburgers, fries some minor baking and it all came out perfect. It also comes with a nice recipe book to show what all you can do with this particular fryer. You definately need to review the instructions to make sure you are setting up everything the right way. As a man who doesn't like to use instructions, lol, this time it was very necessary. Now that I know what im doing, makes the product that much more versatile in all the cooking I will be using this for. I honestly like using this more than my oven. Definitely recommended.

My desire for a multi-zone air fryer grew substantially once I had more than one child. The ability to cook more than one thing at a time whether it be because they feel like different food or I'm cooking some dino nuggets and tater tots, this makes things a lot more convenient.. once I reorient myself to cook times, that is. Setup was as simple as plugging it in. There's a nice quickstart guide included that gives you the run down on a lot of types of foods and the timing suggestions for them. They give you a timing suggestion if you're only using a single zone and another one if you're using both because you basically have to double the cook time. Using the controls is fairly intuitive.. to me. I didn't have any issues. But I can see how some people might be a bit confused. You have to select a zone, then turn the wheel to select the type is cooking you're doing, then when you want to adjust the temperature and time, you need to press the temp and time buttons to adjust those. Then you can set up another zone if you're cooking multiple things. Once you're done with all that, you can select a "smart" cook option if you want to set up another zone so it'll keep the zone with less time on hold until the timer on the other zone gets to the same point. Another nice thing is the included wire trays that separate each zone into two. So you can feasibly cook 4 different things at once if you plan it right. The top is supposed to come out crispier than the bottom and they include more suggestions about what kind of things you can cook in the same zone together. Cleanup is pretty nice and easy. Most of the air fryers I've use in the past have been things with flip up lids or mini oven styles. I feel like the pull out tray style is more common but I've never used them before. It's very nice to be able to just pull out the dirty compartment to clean it and put it back. A couple downsides.. Like a lot of other Ninja gadgets, the beeping noises when starting up are obnoxiously loud. It's not the first or only Ninja cooker like this and I don't understand why it needs to be so loud when you just turn it on or it starts to heat up. It's not a deal breaker but it's striking every time I use them. The hot air that gets spewed out of the sides while the unit is cooking really does warm up the area around it so you need to be careful what you have nearby and that there's enough space around it to vent. With cooking times up in the 40+ minute range, it's not in insignificant amount of time to be heating up your house. Overall, once you get used to some new cook times, the convenience of being able to cook a bunch of different foods at the same time is really nice. It might take longer to cook so you need to plan ahead a little bit more, but since most of the food is easy to set and forget while it's cooking, that's not really a big deal. If you're in the market for an air fryer or find your current air fryer limiting by how much you can cook at the same time, this might be one for you to look at.
