Customers are enthusiastic about the Foodi 10-in-1 XL Pro Air Fry Oven's ease of use and cooking performance, citing its user-friendly controls and ability to cook food quickly and evenly. Ninja strikes again!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned and loved the Ninja Foodi Digital Foodi Air Fry Oven for the past year, but it's time to retire it to the closet. I've gotten too attached to the 30 second warmup time, the fact that i can do up a batch of fries in no time, how the light comes on a minute before your food is ready, not to mention the intelligent design & operation. So why's it retiring? It's big brother came to town! It's big. It does take up a lot of your valuable countertop real estate. But in return, there's a lot more that can be done with it. Big as it is, I would tell you to look down at the bottom of this page where you'll see "other choices." You'll see competitors that have a control panel on the side, a bigger one on the top side, or maybe thicker walls. This unit makes intelligent use of its space. I don't know that I'll every make use of it's ability to roast a whole chicken (those 5 or 6 buck already roasted supermarket chickens are just way too easy!) But I've already used it to do a regular pizza and a garlic bread, a double load of cookies, fries &onion rings among others. The only thing I've given up is that its little brother preheats in 30 seconds vs. 90 - poor me! As compensation, the interior led light seems twice as brilliant. The best lighting I've seen on any like appliance - and that includes a standard oven. It's also heavy - 33 lbs. to be exact. That says to me well built - no flimsy tin construction. Do be advised that this is an 1800 watt unit. I'm lucky to have multiple circuits in my kitchen, but I wouldn't advise turning on a coffee maker or microwave on the same line, or you'll be off to reset a circuit breaker. Which reminds me - another nice feature is that the unit remembers the last setting for each cycle - even if you unplug the unit. So if you like your bagel dark, and you generally bake at 350, it remembers. If you ever want to reset that, it's a two button press on the control panel. So far I've been really pleased with the features and performance of this Ninja, and kudos to them for another product that one-ups the competition.

An Awesome Oven
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Ninja oven takes up quite a bit of counter space, but it's totally worth it! It's basically a compact, fully functional oven plus the 9 other cooking modes like air frying. You can even dehydrate fruits and veggies or make jerky. The controls and display are all on the front handle which seems pretty clever since that keeps the electronics away from the heat. The included sheets and fry trays seem well-built and are easy to use and clean. When you select the oven mode, it lights up the recommended slot to use for the sheet or tray which is really handy. I haven't figured out if it's adjustable yet, but the alert sound at the end is a bit on the quiet side so you need to stay nearby. The oven is rated at 1800 watts, so you'll want to make sure it's the only thing running on your typical 15 amp circuit. The good thing is it seems to cook things really fast. You'll also want to make sure to keep some space around the top and sides because the outside does eventually get hot. Like other Ninja products I have, this appears to be a well-designed, quality product. If you're looking for a multifunction countertop oven I think you'll be happy with the Ninja Foodi. I've had a few different brands over the years and this is by far the best.

Great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really nice oven. Has several functions and can replace some of your other appliances. Great quality, much better than most counter top/toaster ovens. I probably won't use my old regular oven anymore as this seems much more efficient and is big enough for almost anything except for a really large turkey. If you are cooking a large Thanksgiving dinner this would also give you more additional space along with your regular oven. Yeah, it's kind of big but not too big. Only a little bigger than my old toaster oven but the inside is much roomier partly because the controls are on the handle. Lots of heating elements including in the back for some functions. Nice large fan also in the back for good convection use. Four levels for racks, pans, etc. so easily handles two levels at once. I have cooked two pizzas at the same time and they turned out great. I also air fried some wings and potato wedges and they were great too. Some frozen cod as well. I look forward to trying some of the included recipes soon. Great price for all you get. Get one!

Large in Size and Functionality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a very small apartment kitchen and I've been wanting a toaster oven for awhile. I decided I needed a device that could do more than just toast and bake if I was going to devote limited counter space to it. This Ninja oven certainly fits the bill, with no fewer than 10 advertised functions and a variety of accessories included in the box. First off, this thing is huge. Large and in charge. It is much deeper than I thought it would be, stretching nearly the entire depth of a standard countertop. That said, it makes good use of all the space it takes up, with a huge oven cavity and a large glass window. I am particularly a fan of the way Ninja incorporated all the controls into the large front handle. It's not only sleek (especially when the oven is off, as all the lighted text and numbers disappear), it makes for easy cleaning and allows for maximum glass area to view what's cooking. Note that the back of the oven has a bumpout for the convection fan, much like a microwave has a bumpout to fit larger plates. This is hard to see in photos but adds to the overall depth of the oven. This Ninja is well-built, too. It feels very solid, with an all-stainless steel outer shell, quality metal racks and accessories, and a well-sprung front door that doesn't wobble at all when opening and closing. The control handle, the only major plastic piece on the oven, is solid and does not wiggle or feel cheap in operation. The buttons are easy to press and nice and "clicky." The racks, pans and accessories are similarly solidly made, without undue flex. The pans and roasting tray are non-stick and in use burnt-on foods came right off with a little soap and water. The design of the oven, like many Shark/Ninja products, is pretty clever. The default settings for each mode - bake, toast, air fry etc. - change as you scroll through the functions list. You can make further adjustments to suit your recipe after selecting a function. To take full advantage of its large size the Ninja has a "two-level" option button that tells the oven you're cooking foods on two levels vs. one level. You'll want to read the included instructions for this to determine the proper cooking temperatures and times for your needs. Each function also shows the recommended rack position (1,2,3 or 4) and these change when you select two-level cooking. Pretty foolproof and it's nice the oven tells you right where to position things for optimal cooking. So how does it work in practice? Very well, as far as I can tell. The oven heats up very quickly, so quickly that you can put all your ingredients right into the oven before hitting the start button. Once preheated the oven immediately begins counting down the cooking timer. The oven is lighted and the light comes on when cooking starts and then again in the final minute of cooking, letting you easily check whether things are done. There's also a dedicated light on/off button on the oven so you can check cooking progress without opening the door. If you do open the door during cooking the timer pauses and the fan shuts off, a nice touch to keep from blowing a bunch of hot air into your face. My first experiment with the Ninja was air frying on two levels. THe air frying function uses the fan at max speed, which is rather loud, but it cooked chicken nuggets, breaded tofu and french fries quickly and evenly. Nothing can truly replace deep frying in oil, but I'll be darned if this air fryer didn't come close. Everything was cooked through and nice and nice and crispy in only 20 or so minutes. Neat! Regular baking also worked just fine. The oven still uses the fan on a lower speed to cook evenly, and the brownies where nice and flaky on top and hard but not burnt on the edges. I took them out a little early for fear of burning them but I could have left them in another few minutes so they cooked a bit more. The 9x9 metal pan I used fit in the oven with room to spare on all sides. I'm also using the oven regularly to toast bread, as devoting this much counter space to an appliance meant giving up my regular pop up toaster. I've found toasting to work just fine, if not spectacular. The toast comes out done to my tastes on shade five (one up from the default of 4) and it's done on both sides. There's not as much golden-brown "toastiness" as you might be used to getting in a pop up toaster because, as with any toaster oven, the heating elements are much farther from the bread surface. That said, all my toast has been done and tasted as good as it would from a regular pop up toaster. I'll sacrifice a little evenness for the convenience of being able to toast so many slices at once. Overall I'm very pleased with this oven and excited to try all of the features over time. I haven't once used my regular oven since bringing the Ninja home. It takes up quite a lot of valuable counter space, but for me it is worth it to combine multiple appliances into one convection toaster oven wonder machine.

Replaces Three Appliances!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PROS: - Takes up less space than my previous toaster oven - Quick to finish pre-heating - Menu is very easy to navigate and use - No need for a dedicated air fryer or dehydrator CONS: - Non-dishwasher safe components == As A Toaster Oven == One of my favorite kitchen appliances (after my coffee maker) is the toaster oven. It doesn't take up much space or use nearly as much energy as a traditional oven. It's quick and easy to make toast/waffles for the kids in the morning, or quickly cook a pizza for dinner. The Ninja Pro oven gives you plenty of control and options, based on what you're cooking. You can set what rack level you're using and really dial-in on how well you want your items cooked. What really surprised me was how quickly the oven is able to complete pre-heating. == As An Air Fryer == I really love the idea of one appliance that can (potentially) replace three appliances. No need for a dedicated toaster, no need for a dedicated dehydrator, or no need for a dedicated air fryer? Yes, please! The air fryer I currently have is quite small, and now that everyone is eating more meals at home, I've been wanting a larger air fryer (more wings and tots!), so I was excited to see how well the XL Pro would perform as an air fryer. I've tried a few house favorites: wings, tater tots, egg rolls, fries, and chicken nuggets/tenders. For breaded items, using the included air fry basket worked quite well, but there was some minor trial-and-error messing with cook times and temp to find the perfect cooking method. Trying different temps and times (and rack levels) was even more time-consuming when it came to trying to get perfectly crispy wings. I've had the best luck cooking frozen wings on the 3rd rack level at 400 degrees for about 24-30 minutes. Ninja includes a handy little cooking booklet with several different recipes to try as well, but I've enjoyed just trying different settings/times to find what tastes the best for my family. == As A Dehydrator == If you've ever used your oven to make jerky or apple chips, you'll feel very comfortable using the dehydrate feature on the XL Pro. I've had great results following traditional oven-style dehydrating recipies, but you do need to keep an eye on your items, since the XL Pro doesn't need as much time as a traditional oven. You'll likely need to do some minor trial-and-error to find your perfect results, but it's worth it. == Cleanup == The racks, air fry basket, sheet pans, roast tray, and crumb tray are all non-dishwasher safe (according to Ninja). They all need to be hand-washed. They're pretty easy to clean, so I don't mind. It would have been nice if they could be placed in the dishwasher, but that's really my only complaint about the XL Pro. == Bottom Line == I HIGHLY recommend the XL Pro if you're considering a toaster oven and possibly an air fryer, as you won't actually need multiple appliances for the same end result. It doesn't take up that much counter space, it pre-heats very quickly, cleanup is quick and easy, and you can cook your food quicker than compared to a traditional oven (and tastes infinitely better than something from the microwave).

Great if you have the room.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1st let me say that this thing is huge! Please make sure you have the counter top space before you purchase. Also make sure you have somewhere to store it when not in use. It will take up a lot of space. However, it works like a charm. It's powerful and cooks chicken to perfection. I want to use to cook a turkey for thanksgiving so I'm confident that it will come out great. The pans that come with it seem pretty flimsy but I guess that's ok. I haven't had a problem with them. I do think fries come out better in this than the regular size air fryer. I also like the portability of it. So if you have the space to cook and room to store then go for it. But if you have a small spot this may be a challenge.

Beware of missing splash guard
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My oven is missing the splash guard for the fan. This seems to be a common issue with this product.

Posted .Shortly after the launch of the Ninja Foodi Oven, it was determined that the splatter guard was not required covering the fan and that the product performed equally well with and without the splatter guard. Moving forward, no units are being manufactured with the splatter guard.

Loud but versitile
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monster of an oven is gonna make you think twice about using your standard oven again. You can seriously fit a 9x13 pan in as long as you slide it in the rack holders. Many different cooking options to choose from makes it a very versatile oven. One puzzling feature is "Toast". I suppose it's a nod to it's ancestors, the old toaster oven. I've only had it a week so I haven't gotten to use all the features yet. My main has been Bake, Air Fry, and Reheat. The oven has one big fan in the back that provides the air for the "frying" and convection cooking. While it works well it's probably the noisiest countertop convection oven I've owned. If you want to cook without the fan you can use Reheat which will make it a normal oven. Most the other modes use the fan when cooking. I'm not into using any pre-named modes that supposedly target specific foods like Pizza or Bagel since they almost always let me down. I know already what temp and time to use so I stick with knowledge instead of the smarts of a dumb machine. One thing I love about the Air "frying" is how big the tray is. I can actually make enough french fries to give a decent portion to the whole family. Mozzarella sticks came out great and quicker than in a standard oven and crispier - my daughter's been on a mozzarella stick kick for the last few weeks. I really haven't gotten around to the other features like the dual level cooking but I am looking forward to it. After using a few counter top ovens I don't want to ever be without one. So far the Ninja is my favorite. Other than the noise it's almost a perfect oven.

Great device but still need the microwave
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great all around device for baking, roasting a small chicken, cooking pizzas from scratch or from frozen. Great on frozen veggies, frozen fries and just about any frozen foods. I was even able to toast bread but not as good as from a toaster but still a pretty good crunch. Unfortunately it is pretty big and while it replaces a number of other single purpose devices like my air fryer, I still need the microwave, does not replace it entirely. Price is pretty reasonable for all it does and I only just scratching its many uses functions.
