    Awesome Fryer and Instant Pot

We have had a few Ninja products for several years now and decided to give this pressure cooker/air fryer combo a try. I'm very glad we did. We've been using another brand for "instant" pot cooking for a year or so now and have really enjoyed it; particularly the speed with which we can prepare meals since we have two young kids and don't have a ton of time to cook. Despite that, we wanted to give this a try because of the air frying option. I can say it delivers in every way. Given that we didn't have an air fryer before this product, we decided to give that a try and used our kids for guinea pigs. We tried some frozen chicken nuggets and hash browns that they typically like and asked them to tell us what they thought. They both instantly recognized the difference and both said they liked them more than how we traditionally prepare them in the oven. Winner. In almost every other way, this combo cooker is top-notch. The quality of the pot and the accessories are great, though I'm sure some will find the fryer basket plastic "feet" a bit cheap. Every other cooking accessory is metal and certainly sturdy enough. Instructions are easy to follow and you can get to cooking really quickly. I love the digital display and the controls are very simple to use. For some, the size of this particular cooker may be a drawback depending on your preferences. It is quite large, which, for us hasn't been an issue but if you're hurting for space in your kitchen, this certainly won't just hide in a corner somewhere. Of course, the upside is that you can cook quite a lot at once. Also, some might find the fact that the air fryer lid doesn't detach a bit goofy but we like the fact that we don't have to remove it and have it taking up counter space. Instead, it just swings up and out of the way to allow you to put on the pressure cooker lid. If I had to knock it for anything, I would prefer that the power cord detached from the unit so that it can be stored inside the cooker when not in use. No big deal. So far, we are really enjoying the air frying option on the cooker. "Instant" pot cooking is old hat for us and this certainly has chops to match anything else out there. I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a combo cooker of this type. It is well worth it

The foodi is our new kitchen go to gadget. I litterally use it for every meal of the day. There are plenty of great YouTube recipe tutorials. You'll never get bored. I'm not sure if I need my stove anymore at this point its just a night light we always forget to turn off.

    Errors

Love my new addition to the kitchen!! Bought an Instant pot last year and returned it unopened a few months later because I had no idea what to do with it and was intimidated. Welcome home Ninja Foodi Deluxe – glad to have you! This is one heavy cooker but so worth it to have so many options within one pot. It was also packaged really well, and many accessories included. It comes with an owner’s guide, a small cookbook, little heat resistance gloves, 2 racks, 2 lids, and 2 pots. Now where to start with this… Read the owner’s guide (yep I did) and found that I don’t have a “red” float valve on my lid – went crazy looking for this “red” valve that is mentioned in a few steps - whatever.... Tried the water test to practice using the pressure cooker part – have never used one so I thought I better practice! Ok, moved on to what to cook in my new friend… looked thru the small cook book for some easy (beginner) ideas. Decided on chicken breasts and steamed broccoli. Used about 1.5lbs of frozen chicken breasts that I cut so they would fit nicely in the crisper basket, seasoned them, added water for pressure cooker part and cooked for about 10 mins. Turned them over and seasoned other side, emptied most of the water and moved on to air crisp. Cooked at 390 for 10 mins, checked after 5 and flipped and continued cooking. Smelled amazing but a little dry (note: lessen the cook time here). Tasted great though – see pictures! Cleaned out the pot and steamed broccoli about 3 cups for 10 mins – that too turned out great! Meal 1 down and approved by hubby. Next meal – should have thought about it longer…. Burgers and potato wedges (page 25 of cookbook) Did the burgers first thinking they would reheat easily while I cooked the wedges…. Well it messed up the cooking of the potatoes and I received an error message when pressure cooking them for 3 minutes, it needed more water. (NOTE: do potatoes first) I’m thinking that the machine was still too hot from cooking the burgers (that came out awesome) first. So added more water, pressured for 3 minutes and they were really soft – probably good for mashing! I dumped them out into a bowl and seasoned them per recipe and put back into crisping bowl and cooked for 16 minutes – checking after 9 and shaking. Dumped into bowl with more seasoning and they actually turned out good. Lessons to be learned as I go LOL So, my opinion of this big bertha pressure cooker pot – absolutely a thumbs up!! I have more to learn and experiment with but am up to the task and looking forward to using the racks for layered meal cooking. Also am looking at more cookbooks and YouTube ideas and tips.

I have had my eye on the Ninja Foodi for years but never jumped to purchase but when I saw the price drop last month I had to purchase it. The product is just as awesome as I thought it would be. It’s easy to navigate and with more practice I think the functions, temps and timing will become easier. The Pressure Cooker and Air Fryer functions made my ribs and greens so tender. I have even tried sweet potato fries. I am gearing up for my real test, the long awaited, beef short ribs and I can’t wait.

This thing is HUGE. That’s a good and bad thing though. It takes a lot of counter space. And if you store it out on the counter, you will need to find a separate place to store the pressure cooker lid. It’s super heavy but very well built. I use mine at least twice a week and with some practice, it works perfectly.

    Civilized Cooking!

When the Ninja Pressure Cooker and Air Fryer arrived was surprised at the size and weight. Have been looking at similar cookers the last year or so with my wife but none were as big or offered all the options. First thoughts were there is plentiful cooking area, and like the heftiness of the unit as it feels quite solid sitting on the counter when cooking at high temps. When I first set the cooker up, I thought it was going to be a bit of a learning curve getting the cooker going but was pleased to find a quick start guide that had me feeling right at home with the appliance in literally minutes. With the long hot summer where I live, we found right away that the Ninja does not heat up the kitchen like the oven and stove while cooking and obviously uses far less electricity. A win win. This is a cooker that you can prepare a complete meal for the family, from rice, potatoes and vegies to the main course at the same time. The Ninja has quickly found a place in our kitchen and it is used most days of the week when cooking quick meals like fish and chips to dinners. We have cooked whole chicken which came out completely cooked while maintaining moisture and was blown away with how lovely and crisp the skin was from air crisping. Lovely and delicious. Have steamed fresh fish as well as air crisping fish fillets for fish and chips, it is almost too easy. Prepared meals on three layers from meat on top rack with vegies on center rack and rice in the bottom of the ceramic pot. One great benefit of cooking this method was sauces and meat flavors dripped to vegies and rice below, good stuff. The rice cooked on bottom of pot that was flavored from foods cooking above which added a bit of a crisp edge to the texture. There are so many uses for the cooker from simply crisping up fries or other finger food snacks to simply popping in side-dishes for dinner. It has become our go to appliance for so many items that it has in many ways replaced the micro-wave (never a big fan of microwave). Cooking is so simple, foods taste delightful and easy to operate and manage. Two family favorites have become fries and tater tots, crisp up lovely with excellent texture and great taste without the oil. Love it. Likes: - Super easy cleanup, seriously easy. - Ceramic Cooking Pot. - Cookbook. - Two layer reversible cooking rack - Pressure Cooking is amazingly fast. Pressure cooking has taken me a bit of time to familiarize myself with the techniques as I have never used a pressure cooker previously. It has been well worth the time and effort and rewarding with happy family at the dinner table. A cooking system with many talents/functions that delivers big on the YUM factor.

Nice Kitchen Small Appliance if You Have Space

The Ninja Foodi is highly versatile and can cook delicious food in a fraction of the time it would take in a conventional oven or fryer. Nine different functions mean that you can use this product in some capacity with probably every meal. Crispy chicken wings take around 20 minutes and come out tasting great. That said, it’s not the kind of thing you can just plop the wings into and leave it. You need to tend to the wings during that time, pressurizing, depressurizing, etc. Still, using the Foodi is a huge overall time saver. The Foodi is fairly complicated to use. But on the bright side, the included instructions are clear and easy to follow. Still, it can be a little overwhelming for a novice. The Foodi comes with a lot of pieces right out of the box, including a pretty big recipe booklet. Unfortunately, some of those recipes require you to purchase additional accessories because they aren’t included in the box which for me was a bit of a downer. The Foodi washes pretty easily, which is an important part of the time/effort value that it brings to the table. One negative is that the Foodi is big and heavy, and you can’t store all of its parts inside it, so it takes up a lot of storage/counter space. Also, the Foodi says that at this size, it can cook for up to ten people. That seems a bit overstated to me. I feel like it is pretty full when cooking for four people. Although you could cook in several batches and still finish before using a regular oven (but then you have to worry about keeping the first batch warm). While I’m on the subject of keeping the food warm after cooking, the Foodi has a nice warmer function that keeps the food warm without drying it out too much. Overall I’d say that the Foodi is a nice addition to any kitchen. Is it a necessity? No. But it is convenient when you need to cook something fast. Just be sure you have the space to store it.

Cooking, Easy to clean, Use with chicken

I absolutely LOVE the Ninja Foodie! Prior to getting it I owned both an air fryer and a pressure cooker. Both items together were large and took up vast amounts of space. Both had their separate functions which meant that if I wanted to use them both, I had to clean them both. In came the Ninja Foodie, which changed my entire kitchen dynamic! Not only is this thing an air fryer, but it is also a pressure cooker. One tool, many uses! First of all, where I used to have two different kitchen tools, now only one sits in their place. The Ninja Foodie is pretty large, but not as large as two separate appliances. The overall build feels nice and sturdy, as it appears to be made of premium materials. The first time I used it I tried the "air crisp" function, which is basically the air fryer lid. This specific lid is permanently attached to the unit and folds open on a hinge. I followed the recommendations for cooking that came in the book included with the Ninja Foodie. My food was delicious, healthy, and cooked perfectly. The foodie is even MORE quiet than my old air fryer! Next, I tried a combination of both the pressure cooker and the air fryer. I put completely frozen chicken wings in it and used the pressure cooker lid. Once the foodie built up pressure it took 5 minutes and the wings were completely thawed. After I relieved the pressure, I removed the pressure cooker lid, seasoned the wings, and then folded down the air fryer lid. 15 minutes later I had crispy, delicious, fully cooked chicken wings. They were great! I was very impressed. The foodie comes with a fry basket and a two tier rack. You can cook an entire meal at once, placing meat, veggies, and other items in the foodie all together. I really like the recipe/instruction book that comes with it. It specifically names different foods and how to cook them with your Ninja Foodie. This is more than I can say about my old pressure cooker, because I felt like I was on an island by myself due to the lack of instructions with my old pressure cooker. The Ninja foodie is easy to clean, as the fryer basket is non stick. If you were on the fence about buying either a pressure cooker or an air fryer, get the Ninja Foodie! You get the best of both worlds all in one easy to use package! You won't regret it!

I absolutely love this multi cooker. Due to the price i did do research and decided on this one. At first i was a bit hesitant as i read reviews that this was a complicated system. It is soooo easy to use you pick pressure cook, make sure the steam valve us closed and choose a temperature and press start. It beeps when its finished. Air frying same idea different lid. Not sure why others said it was complicated just make sure you read if you need water or not in the cooker but if you forget the cooker will let you know to add water! It comes with a basket to air fry in, a pot insert, 2 layer dehydrating trays 2 lids- 1 lid the air frying lid stays attached. It does not come with the little silicone gloves i would definetly recommend buying them as the unit insert do get hot. It is a tiny bit loud when air frying but good thing its not on long :) The inserts are dishwasher safe!!! Best way to save time! I am so happy with it. I use it daily. The insert size is perfect. I was able to cook 4 lb chickens in it. Sometimes i will pressure cook something, remove the fats/waters and then air fry to crisp the item im cooking up. I am a big griller but i was able to make grill quality food in the air fryer. From wings to steaks to italian sausage or frozen french fries etc. I even tried to pressure cook boiled eggs it took 5 min to hear the cooker and 4 min to boil them perfectly. There is a little book with times and temperatures on how to cook everything. I have not tried to dehydrate, bake or make yogurt in it just yet but im sure it will be amazing when i do. The only downfall is that the unit is vary large but not that much bigger than any other cooker. If you like it as much as i do it may sit on the counter for a while. I was also told you can only get this until the XL (stainless unit) on holidays. Which is a nice treat but for those of you looking for them and theyre out of stock wait for the holidays! :)

One of a kind kitchen appliance

    Pros mentioned:
    Cooking, Use with chicken

A couple of weeks ago, my family decided to start looking after our health better than we had been. This journey of a thousand steps started with evaluating our food choices. Once we determined that we needed to eat primarily at home instead of going out so much, we started using our crockpot more. A couple of times my fiancé forgot to get it going and at the last minute, she had to run to the store for food that wasn’t frozen. Enter this amazing device. Since it can cook food much quicker than a conventional crockpot and because it serves so many different purposes, I instantly fell in love with it. The Foodi Deluxe is actually 9 kitchen appliances in one and it makes for a very nice option to cook with on a regular basis. Getting started with it is very, very easy. For starters, Ninja includes a quick start guide that has a ‘cheat sheet’ of sorts included for those (like me) who haven’t ever used a pressure cooker. There is a trial run of sorts that you can run where you simply run some water through a short pressure cycle. That way you get the hang of the process of using the pressure cooker. I found this invaluable because it taught me two things. First, you learn how the steam is supposed to escape at the end of the pressure cooking cycle and second, I found out our dog is terrified of that sound. Space is at a premium in our kitchen. So, I absolutely love that the Foodi Deluxe gives us an opportunity to box up the other devices that are taking up valuable counter space and only use the Foodi for our cooking needs. The first real meal I cooked with this was BBQ chicken. This is an entree that we typically make in a slow cooker. With the slow cooker, we place 3-4 frozen chicken breasts into the slow cooker with a bottle of BBQ sauce and let it cook for around 6 hours. The chicken comes out moist and can easily be shredded, but it takes forethought to remember first thing in the morning that has to be placed into the slow cooker. When the Foodi Deluxe was unwrapped, one night after my fiancé got home from work (around 4:30 in the afternoon), we did the same process for the BBQ chicken, but we used the Foodi pressure cooker option instead of the slow cooker. The chicken was done in 30 minutes and it actually tasted better than when we make it in the slow cooker. I’ve been a fan of Ninja blenders for a long time, but the new Ninja appliances that are being released are really beyond compare. The technology behind them is amazing and I’m incredibly happy that I can eliminate so many large items from our kitchen counters now.

I have a family of seven and I love my product! I haven’t used my stove much since I purchased this. I cooked a whole chicken (which came out tasty and juicy), red beans, fried chicken, lamb, steak, and so much more. This is also great for teenagers, advanced and beginners that’s learning how to cook. I’ve already recommended this to my family and friends.

    Cooking, Meals

We have used this appliance to air fry fish and chips, pressure cook and brown homemade sausage, sauté and pressure cook chili-mac, and a variety of other foods. It worked well and saved time. We were also able to pressure cook 8 pounds of potatoes to make mashed potatoes for the holidays. We purchased a silicon steamer basket to keep the potatoes out of the water when pressure cooking and they came out just right. We are very happy with the purchase.

This thing is great. We bought this because we’ve been wanting an instant pot and an air fryer. We came across the Ninja Foodi which did both and takes up less space than two different appliances. Instant pot also made a new one that does air frying, so we did our research, and in the end, we went with the Ninja Foodi. It is on the pricey side, but we think it’s worth it. My wife loves the sear/sauté function. She loves being able to brown meats and sauté veggies without any of the lids. This also replaced our crockpot. There wasn’t anything wrong with it, but we wanted to try out the slow cook function. It cooked our roast way better! It was way more tender, and way more delicious. There are a few things we don’t like about it. Especially with the pot. The ceramic coating is easily scratched with the metal racks it comes with but we found a little hack online where someone uses a round silicone baking mat on the bottom. So no big deal. I’m sure there are other “hacks” out there, but either way we are happy with our purchase. We’re also definitely buying another pot and the lid for it, so we can make two dishes and stuff during the holidays.

Very easy to use and clean. It is bulky so it's takes up alot of space. Overall great product.

    An essential in any kitchen!!!

    Use with chicken

We have tried lots of small kitchen appliances over the years and I have to say that none has become such an essential part of our kitchen as the Ninja Foodi. It is the one appliance that can do so much, it's a pressure cooker, air fryer and dehydrator all in one. We have two boys that are quite particular about food, they loved chicken wings that we made in the Ninja Foodi and our daugher cannot get enough of the apple chips we made by dehydrating slides of apple. The cookbook that comes with the Ninja Foodi has lots of recipes to inspire you and there are also two books available in your local bookstore and online that provide more recipes specifically for the Ninja Foodi. We're definitely excited to try more and would encourage you to add this essential tool to your kitchen too!
