This one's a much better one time investment than the cheap ones for 20$ and barely grinding anything. This one with auto iq, grinds the ingredients itself on a one minute timer. Happy with the purchase.

This works great for making single serve smoothies and other drinks. I use it mostly for fruit smoothies, easy way to eat healthier and get more fruit in my diet. Dump all ingredients into container, screw on blender lid, pulse a few times and its done. Easy to clean because it is dishwasher safe.

This blender is very solid and ready to go right out of the box after washing the blending cups and blades. The recipe book has 75 recipes to get you started. I love hummus, so I first tried that recipe. I have made hummus before using a blender and another time using a food processor. Previous results were okay, but the Nutra Ninja Auto IQ did an amazing job. While my previous attempts with other tools were just fair with lumpy results, the Nutra Ninja made it smooth consistent. The result was as good as anything I have purchased at the grocery store or at a restaurant! I just hit the Auto IQ button and it went to work. It starts by pulsing and letting the ingredients fall before starting again. It does this in ever increasing frequency and then finishes with 20 second of straight blending. My next attempt was a yogurt smoothie. I didn't follow a recipe this time. I just threw in some things I like and let the blender go to work. Once again, smooth and drinkable through a straw, no lumps like an ordinary blender. Lastly, I made the carrot soup recipe. This required a little planning and a few ingredients I didn't have on hand, so I had to go find some of the ingredients. Everything had to be cooed and cooled before blending, but once again, the results were perfect. Previously I had used an immersion blender for making this type of soup, but the Nutra Ninja beat it by a mile! Clean-up is super easy. There aren't a lot of parts to take apart like a regular blender or food processor, so it only took a few minutes to wash everything. I love that the blending cups have lids you can drink through. Perfect for soups and smoothies on the go. Just unscrew the blade and screw on the lid. Easy! My only complaint is that it is obnoxiously noisy. I think everyone in my neighborhood knew when I was using it! It's definitely not something you would use to surprise someone with a breakfast smoothie. Overall this is an excellent appliance. You don't have to be a health nut to really appreciate this. I haven't tried yet, but I imagine this would make the best frozen cocktails. That will be next on my list of things to try.
