In the realm of kitchen appliances, few categories have seen as much innovation as indoor cooking solutions, especially for those craving grilled flavors without the outdoor hassle. The Ninja Sizzle Pro XL 20-inch Indoor Griddle & Grill steps into this arena with a bold promise: to deliver authentic grilling and versatile griddling performance right on your countertop, with minimal smoke and maximum convenience.
After cooking breakfast for the last 2 weeks (almost everyday), and also using it for cooking dinner, here’s some highlights of what my experience has been:
Pros:
Expansive 20-inch cooking surface, ideal for family meals.
Precise and consistent edge-to-edge heating with ProTemp IQ.
Highly versatile with interchangeable grill and griddle plates.
Effective smoke suppression for enjoyable indoor cooking.
Effortless cleanup with nonstick, mostly dishwasher-safe components and the built-in removable grease-trap. However the parts are quite large, so I couldn’t fit them inside my dishwasher.
Durable build quality and thoughtful design for compact storage.
Cons:
Not entirely "smokeless" with very greasy foods or at max temperatures.
Certain high smoke point oils are not recommended (e.g., olive oil), which may limit some recipes.
Can take up significant counter space.
Lid clearance might be an issue under some cabinets.
Slight temperature discrepancies between set and actual surface readings at the edges.
Preheat time may seem a little long (around 7-8 minutes on average), especially when I was quite hungry and wanted a quick meal
For individuals and families who desire the convenience of indoor grilling and the versatility of a large griddle, the Ninja Sizzle Pro XL offers exceptional value. It's an ideal choice for those living in apartments or climates where outdoor grilling is not always feasible, allowing them to enjoy char-grilled flavors and large batch cooking regardless of the weather. For me living in the wet PNW region, it promises all-year usage. Despite minor drawbacks, its robust performance, thoughtful design, and user-friendly features make the Ninja Sizzle Pro XL a highly recommended addition for elevating your everyday cooking.

I Love All Ninja Products… Including This One!!

I am biased but also very truthful when it comes to Ninja products. The fact of the matter is they are all amazing. With that said, this indoor grill/griddle is great. The indoor part is the best part. The surface area of the grill and griddle pan is the next best. And third, is literally making food on it. The temp control is a huge bonus.
You have two plates, as I mentioned, the grill (with the lines) and the griddle (fully flat surface). Both are a necessity. The lid is detachable for easy cleaning. The pans obviously come off and clean easily. There is a drip pan, which is always needed particularly for indoor grilling. That’s it. But that’s not it! You can control the temperature… or I should say, set the temperature and the surprising thing (yes, I was surprised) is that it still does even “cooking.” So you have that on your side!
So I decided to try French toast and of course it came out great. I wanted to do pancakes but I wasn’t able to. I also made eggs, an omelet with veggies inside (I grilled them a bit first). I had the veggies on hand. When I did the veggies for the omelet, I just used the griddle pan because that is what I was using for everything else. I also grilled veggies separate from the omelet… nice. I had sausages (and not bacon, even though I love bacon the most)… yumm. Basically, I was able to make a good and easy breakfast on the griddle pan. Later on, I quickly made a few burgers from scratch and used the grill pan for those; as well as the grilled veggies (separate from the omelet veggies). They grilled really well. Yumm. I was also able to grill a couple of chicken skewers on there. It consisted of huge chicken chunks and different huge vegetable chunks. They grilled very well. I just wanted to give examples of things I was able to throw on it, which are probably typical things.
In all, this is great AND fun grill to use, and you can just do it in doors. One negative, for which I did NOT knock off a star, is that when storing the Ninja Sizzle, you cannot put both pans (the grill and the griddle) together and close it. Boooo. It would have been great if one side was the grill and the other side was the griddle. But nonetheless, I love this Ninja Sizzle, and I DO recommend it.
Peace.

This is my 1st of two of this grill. I returned the first one I bought from best buy due to chipped grill plates and the coating coming off (read other reviews and youll find this to be common) this second one I bought from Target and had the same problem. very dangerous and unsafe. if you buy this check the grill plates carefully or prepare to ingest non-stick coating. both plates had burrs and exposed metal where the nonstick is chipping off of BOTH grills. Read the reviews on their own site and elsewhere and youll find this is common, which is crazy. dangerous. absolute garbage quality control and a health concern. If you buy this item, check both plates carefully for burrs and exposed silver metal/non-stick chipping.

Great Intro into griddle cooking

I was very excited to try out the Ninja indoor griddle. I've been looking for a griddle to try and this one hits the spot. Pricing is great too. The size is just enough and it's not too bulky to fit on a countertop. There are many popular griddle brands out there right now but this one is just as good. After unboxing, the first thing I wanted to cook was smash burgers. I cleaned the griddle plate and power on the unit to preheat. The instruction manual recommends preheating for about 9-10 minutes. The manual also gives preferred temperatures for different types of food. The recommended heat for burgers is low or 350 degrees. Once the unit was heated to the target temperature, I began placing my beef on the griddle and started smashing. I started with about 4 patties. As stated in the manual, cooking temps are even across the griddle. Whether I was cooking on the left or right, the temp remained the same and I got the same results. The burgers came out perfectly. There's a little hole towards the front of the griddle to slide food scraps and grease to make way for additional food. I also cooked breakfast on the griddle. Pancakes, eggs, and sausage. They all came out great. I believe I'll have to do a little tweaking for the pancakes as I felt the griddle may have been a little too hot for them. But I was able to cook the pancakes, sausage, and eggs all at the same time. I was able to cook more than I could on the stove top. That's what I love most about this griddle. Now, clean up is probably the worst thing about owning this griddle. It's a good thing the lid is detachable to allow cleaning without picking up the entire unit. You'll definitely have to wipe it down after each use. So far, I've cooked turkey burgers, beef burgers, and breakfast. I can't wait to try other things as it's so easy to set up and take down. The griddle is very easy to clean. If you're new to griddle cooking, I say try this first to get your feet wet and maybe graduate to something bigger. This is a great entry level griddle and you won't be disappointed if you purchase it. It would make a great gift for someone too!

We grilled burgers, hot dogs, and brats for a Memorial Day cookout using this indoor grill, as it was rainy and cold that day. As a family of five plus guests, it was great to have the extra large capacity and room to cook everything all at once versus a more typical-sized indoor grill. Even though we packed it full, everything cooked evenly and consistently, even on the edges. With other indoor grills and griddles that I have had in the past, sometimes the edges of the cooktops would not get as hot and therefore would not evenly cook, so I would have to compromise and not place as many items as the cooktop should have been able to hold—for example, if I was cooking French toast or pancakes or burger patties, instead of cooking eight at a time, I would only cook six in order to not go to the edges of the griddle space.
The digital custom temperature ensures optimal control of the cooking experience. Using other similar appliances in the past, they would pretty much only have those “dial” type controls to manage the temperatures with general settings like “warm” or “hot” or “medium” or something like that. But with this griddle and grill, you can pick the precise temperature you want.
And it is super easy to change between the grill plate and the griddle plate, as it is also easy simply to attach and detach the lid. This makes it a breeze to clean. The surfaces of the grill and griddle plates are touted as nonstick, and they truly are. We were able to wipe them down easy peasy lemon squeezy. And whoever thought of making the lid detachable really put effort into making the cleaning process as hassle-free as possible.
The only very minor detail that I wish this indoor griddle/grill had would be a longer cord. We had to use an extension cord with it, which I would rather not do. But that detail is negligible because overall it is definitely an extremely versatile, practical, and useful appliance to have in one’s cooking arsenal.

A great size grill for your indoor BBQs

This is a must-have grill if you are enjoying the BBQ for a group of 5 to 6 people (9 big size burgers). With the traditional Ninja quality that you can see in the aesthetics, but also in the speed with which the grill is acquiring the cooking temperature, this is a must-have at home.
I love this:
Two cooking surfaces, a 20-inch griddle plate and a 20-inch grill plate, you can cover your meat BBQ (burgers or steak), but also your hibachi-style preparations. With that size, the food for a family of 5 is prepared all at once.
The cooking surface seems to reach the same temperature all over, the meat was quite uniformly cooked. The temperature range goes between 250°F to 500°F, which covers all types of culinary preparations. The temperature display is quite visible in the front of the grill.
Something that is not common, and I like that the lid is also detachable and can be easily cleaned up separately from the main grill body.
I need to consider this:
This is a big item, so most probably you will not have it in your kitchen all the time, so you will need to find some space in your cabinets. In my house, we use it when it is raining and grilling outdoors is not an option. However, we prefer a smaller-sized toaster for regular pressed sandwiches.
The combination of its size and the fact that it should be hand-washed is also an element to consider, depending on the size of your kitchen sink. In my case, some post-cleaning is required to dry the counter.
I dislike this:
The power cord is a bit short, which, combined with the big size of the grill, makes it a bit challenging to place in the right spot in a small kitchen with a limited counter.
Ninja is a recognized brand, however, they insist on only offering a one-year guarantee to their products.

My Ninja Griddle Review: Another Home Run!
Given my extensive collection of Ninja products – from air fryers and grills to a coffee maker for my daughter – it's fair to say I approach new Ninja purchases with a certain level of expectation, and perhaps a touch of bias! Thankfully, this new griddle lives up to the brand's stellar reputation.
What I immediately loved is the convenience of cooking an entire meal on one surface, significantly reducing post-meal cleanup. My inaugural meal of perfectly cooked eggs and bacon, all done simultaneously, was a dream. If I had to nitpick, I'd wish for a slightly faster preheating time. Beyond that, I have no complaints. A future wish would be for Ninja to introduce additional specialized cooking pans for diverse food types – that would be an amazing expansion!
My positive experience continued with grilled cheese sandwiches. The griddle allowed me to quickly prepare a large quantity of evenly cooked sandwiches with perfectly melted cheese. Switching to the sear grill later that night, I cooked steak and chicken quarter legs. Following the recommended temperatures, the meal was both quick and delicious, requiring minimal effort on my part. This grill has officially become my preferred cooking appliance for both individual meals and entertaining.
Cleanup is remarkably easy due to the highly effective nonstick surface. A noteworthy point is the minimal need for oil or cooking spray on both the griddle and sear grill – a testament to the quality of the nonstick coating. While I can't speak to the long-term durability of the nonstick without oil, the overall construction feels exceptionally sturdy, as expected from Ninja. I wholeheartedly recommend this grill, 1000%!

The Ninja Sizzle Pro XL is very large griddle grill combo. The best of both worlds that brings Ninjas excellent home devices to this combo.
I had the grill version for years, so trying this has helped eliminate my other griddle. Testing this out I tried it over breakfast using the griddle plate to cook pancakes and eggs and they came out perfectly. Even heating all around and cooked perfect temp.
Next I tried the grill feature with two ribeye steaks and some hamburgers. The steaks came out perfect using the pro temp feature and following the resting recommendations.
The burgers and steaks were juicy and flavorful which was a nice change. Because when I grill on charcoal or gas I always have uneven temps or temps in steaks.
Overall the design is basic, I like the removable lid for easy clean up, but the griddle feature does allow for some splatter everywhere.
The top takeaways from this combo is that this device is excellent for any home that can be used for every meal any time of day.

Grill to Greatness

This Ninja Sizzle™ Pro XL Indoor Griddle and Grill is the bomb for indoor or outdoor cooking where/when you can.
The best thing about this that all other griddles I have tried is the evenness of the heat it produces, no cold or hot spots to undercook or burn your meal. Both inserts heat evenly and the grill plate sears and leaves grate marks for great presentation.
Clean up is a breeze with both plates, they are PFAS free and ceramic. I have cooked everything from pancakes to steaks and haven't had anything stick to the point I have to scrub it. A gentle wipe with a wet cloth is all it takes.
Another feature that sets this apart is the lid, it allows better cooking by holding in heat and flavor. Follow the directions when using fats/oils for a smoke free cooking experience. The lid also controls spatter as a bonus.
The only down side to this XL griddle is the XL size when talking about storage. The plates don't self store so you need a place for the plates and the griddle. This is something to consider but luckily this has a little brother with a smaller footprint.
Go get one and try it you won't be sorry.
Not sure what temperature to cook your food at, asked and answered with the custom temperature control with temps from 250-500 degrees F.

Immediately you notice how light and durable it's construction is. The extra-large surface makes it perfect for preparing multiple servings at once which is a game-changer for meal prepping. So far I have used it to cook pancakes, bacon and eggs in the morning and burgers and hotdogs over the memorial day weekend and it heats evenly. The interchangeable grill and griddle plates make it easy to switch. It heats up quickly, and the temperature control seems accurate. The nonstick plates are dishwasher safe and the lid is light and easy to clean. I have a smaller version also but I prefer this much more especially for cooking breakfast where the extra room makes a huge difference. My biggest gripe was the simple task of removing the help sticker on the front. The adhesive did not come off easily but that was my only issue which is irrelevant but I still wanted to mention it. I have 6 different Ninja kitchen devices and none have disappointed. This along with the pressure cooker are the best yet.

The Ninja - Sizzle Pro XL 20-Inch Indoor Griddle & Grill with ProTemp IQ - Silver was well packaged and came with wonderful instructions which included temp for type of meat or vegetable for the grill side and when to flip if needed. It also included instructions for different foods for the griddle plate as well. I started with the grill and took the time to do the burn off like the instructions said. The first time grilling, I attempted pork chops. My husband and I loved them. They turned out perfect thanks to the easy instructions and temperature guidelines. It's ingenious to have the lid detach for easy cleaning. It was very easy to clean the lid and the plates. That's one of my favorite parts. I also like that there's interchangeable plates. My next few tries was also on the grill side with burgers then chicken. All great. Be very careful when using the grill. The lid and plate edges get very very HOT. I was trying to move it on my counter slightly and in process touched the lid with several fingertips burning them. Just keep thatin mind. I'm not much of a breakfast person so I've not yet tried the griddle plate, but I think I will have Philly steak sandwiches next. The griddle would be perfect for those! I do have one complaint and the reason for the star demotion: the cord is far too short. For any older home (and mine isn't that old, mid 90s) there's not outlets everywhere. The power cord is only about 20 inches or so if I recall correctly which means I couldn't place it where I wanted to for use. Other than that, great grill!

The Ninja Sizzle Pro XL Indoor Griddle & Grill is a solid in home or apartment traditional grill substitute. Electric, making for easy upkeep/use without concern of propane or the need of coals, etc. The 20" length cooktop provides adequate space when cooking for a family of 4, possibly 6 depending on eating dynamics. There are two cook plates, griddle and grill. The grill is able to provide that variable sear, while griddle provides an even hot cook. This allows for consistent sear/browning without having the issues of certain parts of a traditional pan hotter than others. There is a ventilated lid that allows for heat to be locked in - which can be easily removed to be washed. The cook plates as well, making clean up not too much of a hassle. There is a simple display, allowing for temperature and time to be selected. It is a fantastic feature to be able to dial in certain temperature - can adjust temperatures based on oil being used, type of food and desired cook. The griddle top is wonderful for breakfast - being able to make pancakes, eggs on a smooth, well heated/balanced surface. Family are fans. This is now my go to with the grill plate when it comes to sous vide steaks. I previously would use a cast iron to get the sear after cooking in the water bath - now have been using this to get that quick sear and easy/quicker cleanup than cast iron pan. Overall, very satisfied with this product when it comes to a countertop, indoor grill option. Of course, not a true substitute for an outdoor propane or coal grill but a nice substitute for those who that is not an option.

Excellent Addition to the Kitchen Small Appliances

This is a solid addition to the home kitchen suite of small appliances. The unit is quite large and has space to cook enough burgers and hot dogs for the whole family. The cook tops are easy to switch, simply pick up and put on. With this unit, Ninja has thought through a lot of the small details to make use as easy as possible. Built in high, medium, and low setting with suggestions based on what you're cooking make it easy for amateur chefs to use while a more specific thermometer based mode caters to more advanced kitcheneers. Down to the way grease enters the grease trap has been engineered to keep the parts of the unit clean that would otherwise be difficult to clean. Speaking of easy to clean, the lid itself lifts off and is dishwasher safe provided your dishwasher is quite large. Either way, much easier to clean removed rather than attached. If you're looking for an indoor grill and flat top combined, look no further. I've made some excellent burgers, dogs, and a quality breakfast spread with pancakes on this guy since having it and had a great time.

I got to tell you, Ninja is putting out some great cooking items. The Ninja Sizzle Pro XL 20-Inch Indoor Griddle & Grill with ProTemp IQ is no exception.
I've cooked a couple meals on this so far, using the grill and the griddle. Burgers and hot dogs heat up evenly and well on the Lo setting (as suggested on the grill itself) with pancakes cooked to perfection on the griddle.
The big thing for me with these kitchen gadgets is the cleaning ease. The lid pops right off, allowing a quick trip to the sink to give it a light scrub while the grill/griddle platform lifts right off. The grease trap, found on the front is easy to keep an eye on and remove for cleaning and draining. Unlike their Woodfire Grill which has the drain trap in the back, sometimes forgotten abount.
The sleek design and compact nature allows it to look at home in your kitchen, while still being able to store on a lower cabinet shelf. The lid lets you be able to put things on top of it without worrying about any scratches to the cooking surface.

I’m not sure when we started turning to Ninja for cutting edge cooking appliances, but that time is here. I for one am all for it, as they have proven to be quite capable in my experience. What about the Ninja – Sizzle Pro XL? Well, let’s see what we got..
This griddle-grill combo comes packaged well and takes little to no assembly to get it up and running in minutes. My first impression was that the Sizzle Pro was well built, but not as sturdy feeling as the Ninja 7 in 1 grill/smoker/air fryer I already have. Don’t get me wrong, this thing is not fragile or cheap. The build quality just seems to be a tad lower than expected, primarily because the cover/hood feels lighter and looser than expected – it is removable though and that could be part of it. This observation may be a matter of preference, and it’s quite possible I’m a little stuck on previous experience (my 7 in 1).
One of my favorite things about the Sizzle Pro is how simple it is to start cooking on. It has fantastic temperature control and offers both grill and griddle surfaces to cook on. It touts full heating coverage over the entire surface with consistent temperature from edge to edge, and I have to give it to them, that’s accurate. Set the temperature using either the preset modes (low, medium, or high) or a custom temp and allow it to preheat. After that, it’s ready to rock and roll. One thing about the Sizzle Pro you really have to be aware of is that the sides of the enclosure are part of the cooking surface plate. You should be careful not to touch the sides of the grill while it is still hot. I think this lends to the looseness of the lid because it really kind of sits on the sides of the cooking surface. With the Sizzle Pro designed for indoor grilling/griddle cooking, I expected some form of smoke control. Ninja advises would be chefs to use certain cooking oils to keep down smoke and splatter. I can’t say this thing gives you a smoke-free experience, but it wasn’t bad. I think I would have loved to see some sort of filter option, especially since this thing is aimed toward an indoor cooking experience.
All my preferences and quirks aside, this thing really gets the job done when you want to cook in volume. The consistency it provides all over the cooking surface is really second to none. I really have come to appreciate this when cooking the same thing on the entire cooking surface. This might not be suitable for situations where you may want different temps on different parts of the cooking surface – just something to keep in mind. All in all, I feel Ninja has done it again. They have delivered another useful and cutting edge meal prep solution, and I’m here to enjoy it.

The Ninja Sizzle pro XL 20 inch indoor/outdoor griddle is such a great little grill. This little product can very easily compete with larger appliances.
I've cooked a few different meals on this now. My favorite part about this grill, making smash burgers! The surface of the griddle heats up to 500 degrees. This covers the entire surface. I had been planning on buying a blackstone, that is until i got this awesome griddle. I've done burgers, pancakes, chicken and steak for stir fry.
Cleanup is very simple and you can wash the griddle plates in the dishwaher if you chose to do so. My only complaint is the lid, it wish this was a little more sturdy and heavy duty. Being an indoor grill, when i open it up under a kitchen cabinet, it doesnt clear the bottom. No big deal though, i just use it on the kitchen island instead. This grill can get messy. Make sure to take proper care when griling food.
Overall, this is a great product, especially for those summer camping trips!

Sizzle Pro XL 20-Inch Indoor Griddle & Grill with ProTemp IQ, Was so excited to get this grill/griddle I have used it a few times in the past week & my husband definitely loves it! No assemble required except when changing the grill and griddle for plates which is a 2 second switch, the cleaning is so easy, non stick plates of course once they have cooled but simple and fast, the top lid lifts right off to wash super easy also. I didn’t have any issues with smoking some oil splatter the first time but I figured it out don’t put oil on the grill during the pre heat mode, and once it’s done that takes about 9 mins to preheat but you can also do a skip pre heat mode, so once it’s pre heated then I put the oil on the grill plate and that definitely reduced oil splatter. It does come with a reference book for cooking time and which plate you’ll be using, and also has some recipes in it. For setting you can choose custom temperature or choose from the low/Med/High options and it has a countdown trimer, so I made marinaded boneless skinless chicken breast and asparagus it took about 25 mins on the grill plate flipped it a couple times came out perfect, juicy, made pancakes and eggs on the grilled perfection I felt like it was so much quicker & easier to clean up 1 pan cleaning. Only thing I found weird were the setting which are digital the Medium setting does not look like it means Medium, so we normally abbreviate it as Med it was MD but the “M” was weird looked like part of the digital screen was not working. It bothered my OCD haha. Other then that I Love it! Oh yeah also has little pull out tray in the front for grease catcher.
