Amiibo Cards for Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer. They come in a small sealed package inside a larger cardboard sleeve. Well protected, ships extremely well. No overpackaging when they are shipped. Everything is just right

The cards are nice and glossy and read well with the NFC reader to add some freedom of choice as to which characters you design homes for in Happy Home Designer. A few of the characters I have cards for I've seen in the game already wanting homes, but the cards are still fun to collect. It reminds me of Pokemon card collecting as a kid

I've become addicted to these cards, and the doubles aren't that bad, considering how many packs I bought this first series. They now have series 2 out, and I believe series 3 comes out in March, so many cards, so little money T.T .....especially 100 each series, but if you're determined and want them for collectors sake, go for it!

Pretty Cards, but Pretty Useless

This is going to be a rather short review. These cards are also amiibo, which means they can be scanned into various 3DS and Wii U games to unlock features or save date to the card. As cards themselves, they all feature a picture of a character from an Animal Crossing game, as well as some information. If you want to use them as playing cards, well, they all a number one though 6 and a rock, paper, or scissors symbol on the front, so they can be used for very simple card games. Ultimately, while pretty cards, they have little functionality as cards, and it all comes from the amiibo component. Now, what can you do with them as amiibo? At the time of this writing, very little. Do note that Nintendo may release or update software in the future to add functionality, but I have to review their current functionality as we know nothing about upcoming functionality. In Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer for 3DS, you can call them up by scanning the card and designing a home for them, and talk to them. However, you can do that anyway for every villager, the natural order can simply be bypasses with this card. The other game all cards are compatible with is Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival for Wii U, which actually requires the usage of another type of amiibo to play the game. The cards can be used to play a few mini games where they each have special values and attributes, but the games are threadbare. Also, by scanning the card in, if they have Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer data on them, their house will show up in the over world. However, as Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival is a threadbare game most people won't play more than once or twice, this means the functionality is near nil. So what can you do with these cards? Not much, surprisingly. However, some cards have functionality with other games. Each pack contains 1 special card and 5 generic cards, and some of the special cards, such as Isabelle, unlock costumes in Mario Kart and Super Mario Maker, and potentially other games, I'm not sure which. They provide no functionality in that respect that the amiibo figures don't provide, and the cards you get are also randomized, meaning you have a 1/17 chance of getting an Isabelle per pack. So, in conclusion, although this review was long and rambling like I didn't want it to be, you can't do much with these cards as amiibo or as cards, but they are pretty and probably rather collectible. If the threadbare features appeal to you, as you are a huge Animal Crossing fan, congratulations, buy away and enjoy. Otherwise, I recommend you stay away, yes, even you amiibo collectors. Proceed with extreme caution.

This reissue of Nintendo's Animal Crossing Ammibo cards is well anticipated and helps from the 30X prices from collector sites. The cards are a great way to way to further enjoy the Animal Crossing games on the 3DS and Switch!
There are four series and 400 cards total. 6-per pack.

My friends and I were very lucky to find a stockpile of Amiibo cards at Best Buy as they were sold out most everywhere. Hopefully, we'll be able to count on Best Buy when series 2 comes out in 2016.

Now i know! Another alternative like amiibo to waste my money!! Are the cool and cheap and relatively easy to find? Yes but once you discover how to use them, especially in HHD (happy Happy Designer (which I just started playing and after hearing it sucked is actually an AWESOME game I can't put down).
If you like Animal Crossing or your a collector these are a cool way to get some of the villagers that you couldn't get before.

It is fun to collect even if you do not have the game. The characters are cute to look at. One pack comes with one special edition and has sparkles so you can tell it is a special edition.

I love animal crossing, I bought the cards thinking I'd just get a few packages and be done.. nope. There are 100 cards in this first set and if you are a fan, you'll want them all. But great cards, you get one special per package. My first few packages I did not get a single special double!

The cards themselves allow you to decorate houses for the animal pictured on the card, some of which you can't normally. You can also scan them to call specific animals to the different businesses you are asked to decorate to populate them. Otherwise they're just fun to collect.

Great for any animal crossing fan even without a 3DS or WiiU. Good quality and if you own a compatible game it pays for it's self basically as a physical DLC item.

An interesting way to add different characters to the game. Due the expense ($1 per card or more) and the chance of getting duplicate cards repeatedly I will not be adding more than the one pack I purchased.
