I am pleased with the controller grip due to its ease of use and clear plastic construction which is much more appealing to me than the solid black grip that comes standard with the Nintendo Switch console. I was worried that I would not have a USB-A to USB-C cable needed for charging the JoyCons in the grip as my other personal electronic devices are still back on USB-microB, but I was delighted to see that an A to C cable was included in the box (to both my and the BestBuy employees' surprise) even though the packaging does not indicate its inclusion AT ALL. If you like using the grip that comes with the Switch, and you want to be able to charge a second set of JoyCons in it, then you will like this product, like I do! I'm still not sure why the JoyCon grips come with a loop for attaching what I can only assume would be a wrist strap like the ones on the JoyCons since no strap is included with this grip or the one with the console, but it doesn't really make much difference to me.

Control grip is surprisingly comfortable and a great way to easily charge an extra set of Joy-Cons. It's extremely easy to take the Joy-Cons in and out of this that my 3 year old does it all the time.

I have an extra set of joy cons so this make it easy to charge all four joycons at once At night. The other two just dock to the switch. This also give me an extra full controller when I slid my extra joycons into this controller so now I have two full controllers (this one plus the one that came with the switch) or four half controllers. I just plug the usb into the dock to charge this controller.

Purchased the charging grip with the extra controller so I cold play with my nephews and it awesome. Was able to open the controller and play immediately without having to charge the controllers.

As others have pointed out, this charging grip basically makes it easier to charge the joy cons that come with the Switch. (You don't have to reconnect them to the docked Switch in order to charge them.) This probably reduces the chances that you'll break the joy cons or the Switch itself by frequently messing with the docked Switch, etc. I have big hands and prefer using the joy cons in either this grip or the non-charging grip that comes with the console, but others might prefer to use the joy cons separate from a grip.

A convenient necessity for your Switch! I have the usb cable plugged into the dock (less to buy so you don't have to get the A/C cable) and it charges very quickly. Battery low popped up, and only having it plugged in for about 20 mins I was able to play for another 2 hours! Convenient to charge and play at the same time. Grips are the same size as the non-charging ones that came with the console, so there's no difference in shape which is an added bonus.

This charging grip is fine, it does what it's supposed to and it helps when you need to switch controllers during a lengthy game session, or if you've forgotten to charge it for a few days. It comes with a cable so you can charge the batteries while playing, or if you want to charge it while a second set of controllers are charging on the switch dock. The price seems a bit steep since it's almost half the price of a pair of switch controllers.

If you own more than a pair of Joy-Cons, you'll definitely need another grip, depending on the games you play. Well, this product comes with a charging feature, in which the Grip that comes with the Switch does not; and that right there is the main problem. The Switch should've definitely came with a Charging Grip, but alas, it was not meant to be! It does have a more translucent look to it, which is nice and helps to differentiate between this and the standard grip. Other than that, it is still too pricey in my opinion.

As the title states, this should come with the system. The fact that the controllers need to charge on the console makes it a bit of a pain, especially if they die in a case with the system. It comes with a nice, long, seemingly resilient USB-C cable for connecting it to the system, and charges beautifully. Only issue is it's a bit expensive for such an essential accessory.

I have a switch lite and needed something to charge my new set of joycons with, and boy, is it hard going back to handheld mode after using this grip. It feels great, and incredibly smooth, and despite the plastic, it feels like a real controller with the joycons in. As a grip and as a charger it’s quite functional.

This is probably the best way to charge your joy-cons while not connected to the switch. I typically use actual switch controllers, but this is good for extra sets of joy-cons. Wish this was a standard feature with he switch, but its a useful accessory. Also it's less expensive than getting a full controller.

Increases the playing time on my controls. Love it and love the way you can use the joy cons as a more standard type controller, i.e., PS4 and Xbox type controllers.

I bought this at first only because of its double functionality, it's both a grip for your joy cons and a charger. It works pretty well and I personally like the added heaviness to the controller, since it makes it feel more like an Xbox or PS4 controller. I just wish the price you pay for the joycons wasn't so steep, and that it atleast came with a grip, since the joycons themselves are $80 a pop

It's almost exactly the same as the one that came with the Switch, but it allows you to charge the controllers. No idea why Nintendo didn't just put this in originally, but hey, now they have more of my money, so who's the idiot? It does work great and I'd buy it again if it got lost

I use this to charge my controllers while i use the other set so i dont ever run out of battery! Works well just plug it into the dock and let em charge.

I like this better than the one the unit comes with. This one comes with a USB-C cable and allows you to charge the joy-cons while they are connected.

Works great! Could be a bit larger, but I have small hands so I'm happy. Easy to use. I wish there were better ways to charge than the docking station with four slots and the one usb-c port, but I suppose it is time to update some of our outlets anyway.

This is really easy to use and lightweight. Obviously it takes a wee bit to get used to it you're switching from ps or xbox but, just a little.

My friend asked me to get this for him as a gift. He is very happy to use this since it charges the joy-con with out taking them off the grip.

Better than the grip included when you buy the system because you can charge the controllers without having go dock them back on the system.
