    Great option for eShop purchases

I am generally a fan of prepaid cards such as these for video game consoles. I personally prefer them to avoid having to attach a credit or debit card to console hardware, especially as a number of them have proven to be relatively insecure in the past (i.e. Sony's PlayStation Network security breach). In this case, the $10 value works out in that it lets you top off smaller prices without having to get a larger commitment.

This works as a gift card through the 3Ds or Wii U e-shop. You pay no tax when you buy the card and no tax when you buy the software. Additionally this is a great way to spend your Best Buy $5 or $10 point rewards. Additionally you get an AR card that can be scanned and used with the free Taking Pictures with Mario app. Only downside is you will not get the My Nintendo gold coins with your purchase.

    Bonus AR Cards

This is a great alternative to using a credit card for Nintendo's eShop. You also get 2 AR cards to use with the 3DS (Goomba and a "?" card). The AR cards work with the Photos with Mario app that is available free on the eShop. Additionally, the AR cards can interact with other cards from the same series. I would say this is a better alternative than getting the other eShop cards that don't come with AR cards.

    Great deal when on sale

Occasionally, Best Buy has run sales on these prepaid cards. It's a steal to stock up and load them on your account, so you can take advantage of deals going on in the Nintendo eShop. On the Wii U, not having a physical game isn't as much a problem (I tend to not trade in games), but on the 3DS, you might do better getting a physical cartridge if you have more than 1 system in your household (e.g., multiple kids with a 3DS).

These cards are very convenient if you don't want to enter your card information into the Nintendo eShop. I bought this when it was on sale for 10% off so it's as if I got Mario Kart on discount from the store even though it wasn't on sale. I don't know how often these cards go on sale but when they do then you can see another benefit to purchasing a card besides avoiding entering in card information through the eShop.

These gift cards are some of the best stuff out there. Not only is Nintendo coming out with new & innovative games all the time, but there is an entire treasure trove of classics out there for download to relive your first gaming experiences. I love these gift cards because they allow me the opportunity to buy some of these classics while at the same time finding new indie games that I would otherwise not know about.

    Best Way To Buy Digital

This is the best way to manage available funds for digital purchases, whether you use it as an allowance of sorts, don't feel comfortable with your credit card information in your child's video game console, or just want to keep a better budget for your own spending. Sure it's not as convenient as entering your credit/debit card info, but you will succumb to impulse purchases much less often as a result.

    Scratching Issues...

This item does what it is supposed to do, but the scratch portion of the card is EXTREMELY sensitive. Fortunately, Nintendo quickly rectified the situation. This is not an issue with Best Buy or Nintendo, but the maker of the card. Will continue to buy the card from Best Buy because I love them that much. I bought another card afterwards and noticed that they now warn about scratching the card to hard.

Great to be able to access to older titles. However, there is little incentive to buy digital versus physical games for newer titles with regard to price (physical games can frequently be found on sale and/or used). Additionally, the fact that the games are still tied to the actual console instead of individual accounts (as with PSN, steam, or XBL) is annoyingly perplexing in this day and age.

Get Best Buy points for your Nintendo purchases

If you try to maximize your points balances, this is a no-brainer. Yes, you can just buy stuff on the e-shop with a credit card, but buying a Nintendo points card instead will get you best buy points in the process. Plus, you don't have to enter your credit card information into another part of the internet, if that's a concern. It'll also keep you from going crazy and buying every virtual console game out there.

Wii-U and 3DS easily have some of the best games available to download of any console currently available on the market. With their exclusive titles, I would take either of them over an Xbox or PS4 any day (but I also own Sony and Microsoft systems so I'm not hating, just stating my preference). These cards allow you to download games on Nintendo systems without entering your credit card info. Awesome

I have 3 children all under 7. We do not ever buy actual games anymore. Everything we purchase through the eshop and download to our WiiU and our 2DS. No more worrying about where that game is or if it got put away. Also, no more switching game discs to play something new. Basically, it makes your WiiU or your DS experience like that of an iPod just with way better games than any iPod game I've ever seen!

Not much to say about adding points to your account. The cool thing is that if you scratch off the numbers and it becomes unreadable, you can still call Nintendo of America and they will help you by looking up the card # and providing you the correct code to put in so you can still redeem your points. I had to do this and was $h@ting bricks cause I thought I just threw away 20bucks by scratching away the code.

Nintendo provides a great program of discounts for digital purchases. Registered Wii U deluxe earn Eshop money back PLUS coins for free downloads. Best Buy is the best place I know to get Eshop cards. Keep an eye out for their 20% off Eshop Card Sale and that's even more Zelda and Metroid for your digital bucks!

These cards work just as you expect them to; once activated, they have a silver bar you scratch off to reveal a code. This code can be redeemed on the eshop for the credit denomination you paid for. You can either use that credit on the spot, or let it sit on the account until you need it. Good workaround for someone who does not want to pay with a credit/debit card directly on the game console itself.

This is the way to go if you're not a fan of inputting your credit card information online, or if you're not old enough to own one. Purchase this card and use it for currency towards download only games for both WiiU and 3DS. Can be used to download all kinds of classic games from Nintendo's virtual console library as well. There's a bunch of downloadable content to purchase for games you may already own too.

    Essential for PokeBank annual renewals!

For Nintendo's eShop on your 3DS or 3DS XL you would need to have funds available for purchasing downloads of games and other apps. These are usually optional, but some things come in handy. For example, the Pokémon can use these funds added to their 3DS system to buy the annual PokeBank app ($4.99 per year currently). Best Buy sometimes sells these cards/funds at 10% or even 20% off so watch for that!

Nice method for eShop download purchases

First I just wanted to mention it's nice to see Nintendo add a new $10 denomination to choose from, as before the lowest was $20. And one major benefit is that it avoids having to use a credit card, while one minor drawback is the slight inconvenience of having to scratch off for the code. Plus these are even more useful since Nintendo started allowing the funds be used towards both Wii U and 3DS games.

This cute Nintendo ecard is perfect for getting those points to spend on the eshop on 3DS or WiiU. A separate application, Photos with Mario, is required to actually view the AR aspect of the card, so keep that in mind. If you love this amazing Nintendo character, why not get this card, it's the same price as a regular one! Also available in other characters, but why not choose the princess?!
