These new black controllers, featuring a flaming silver smash bros. logo in the center, are much like official white logo-less version in that they both feature longer cords but lack the metal bars in the L and R triggers that stabilize presses. If you are looking for a white version featuring the smash bros. logo you will, currently, need to import it. If you happen to need new controllers for your gamecube or Wii, these controllers are compatible. In order to use gamecube controllers for the new Smash Bros. game for the Wii U you will need to purchase the gamecube controller adapter for Wii U. At the moment the adapter and controllers only work for Smash Bros. for Wii U. Personally I prefer playing the new Smash Bros. for the Wii U using controllers like these as the C-stick is positioned below the ABXY buttons and they are wired so you don't have to worry about constantly syncing it to the system if you or your friend's bring extra controllers over. The only disadvantage is that shielding is not analog in Smash 4 meaning that you cannot adjust the size of your shield like you could in Melee, you will have to press the L and R buttons all the way down in order to register a press.

The GameCube controller is one of my all time favorite controllers, this is just like the original. Very happy to be able to play the new Smash Bros with it.

It's a GameCube controller. Not much more to say. The construction is solid, the cord is a bit longer (~9 feet), and the analog stick is tight and responsive.

The best controller to use on super smash bros, the only bad thing is that there is not enough adapters but hope nintendo take care of this problem soon. : )

This game was designed to be played with gamecube controller. Yes, you can play the game with any other controller, but it's just better on this controller.

My kids use this control, they say it works well. Easy to use and was exactly what they were looking for with the Wii U and Smash Brothers game.

Excellent controller, works as expected. Only differences are the Smash logo replacing the GameCube logo and the cable being about 3 ft. longer.

This is an awesome controller, Looks and feels the same as the original GameCube controller from 2001, but with a cool Smash logo on it and a longer cable. If you need GameCube controllers for any reason, definitely worth the money.

I bought this controller for my son, who is an avid Smash Brothers player, and he loves it. Highly recommend it to go with your Wii U!

The extra length on this new controller and the fact that Gamecubes were last manufactured more than a decade ago should be more than enough justification for these five stars, but it's easily the most favorable layout for Super Smash Bros. For Wii U and probably one of the most well designed and well-loved controllers in the history of console gaming. Good to have you back in Smash, Gamecube controller.

This is a big issue I have with the system. The controller is great so why not let me use it in other games? If you can dig up the old controllers just buy the adapter instead (which is another issue)

I dont own a wii u but I use this regularly on my gamecube and it is awesome. The longer cord is a great addition

Bought an open box. Super satisfied. Cord is super long which is nice.

If you have super smash bros for the wiiU and don't have the original GameCube controllers I recommend these.
