The controller is nice, but the outer shell surface is definitely not like the old controllers. The newer version is more of a "matte" surface while the old were a "gloss" surface. Other than that, breaking in the controller to play melee only took about a week of playing

I am not a huge fan of the Nintendo Wii controllers when playing Super Smash Bros, so I use the GameCube controllers whenever playing it. The Super Smash Bros edition pays a nice tribute to one of the greatest Nintendo games out there! The price is also very reasonable.

If you want to play smash bros on the wii u then this is a must buy. Its better than the orignal gamecube controller and supports a longer cable as well.

When playing Smash bros. The only way to play it is with the Game Cube Controller. What nintendo did to re release them was pure genius and really shows they listen to the fans. Now if that adapter for the controllers was a little bit easier to get a hold of....

Being familiar with Melee, I decided to pick up the GameCube controller. Unfortunately, the controller is only compatible with Smash Wii U so I find it disappointing to need to dish out an extra 30$ + adapter (around 15$) in order to have a controller to play Smash U or Melee. This controller is pretty much only for the hardcore Smash players.

I bought this for my son for Christmas after he had recently gotten the WiiU. It's a great controller for the Smash Brothers game. The design is the same as the original GameCube controller, which has the best design in his opinion.

No doubt the best controller for Super Smash bros. All others pale in comparison. Only wish they were platinum colored like my older ones.

Truly the best controller of any console, new or old. Incredibly comfortable in the hand. Some people say these new ones feel a little different than the old ones but I haven't really noticed, which I'd say is a good thing.

A must have controller for all those classic Nintendo games.

Just as good as they were when they first released over 15 years ago! Actually they are better than they used to be with no deflated buttons. Very comfortable and the general go to controller for Smash Bros.

The gamecube controllers are just like the originals, with the cool Smash Bros. logo. It was great of Nintendo to make these available...now, if they would only make enough of the adapters available....

With this GameCube controller, I can play Sm4sh for Wii U, play most Wii games on the Wii, and use it for the GameCube system itself. It is an awesome controller because it's comfortable to use.

Let's put this way, if you still own a gamecube controller and want to play smash bros on Nintendo Wii U all you need is to buy an adapter gamecube controllers will work. But if you want a flashy controller than buy this to stand out from the crowd. NIce controller but its just a regular gamecube controller different color with the smash bros logo thats it. I have been using it on my gamecube to play wind waker. no problems.

I love the extra long cord. Still works good as new after a year of casual play.

We have parties and play Smash Bros all the time! This was a great purchase and makes Smash Bros even more fun!

My son got an old game cube at a yard sale and just loves this controller because he could use it with his gamecube

I tried for so long to avoid buying one of these but the temptation broke me down and I got it. I didn't really NEED it it just looks nic . The sticks and buttons are super firm but it feels very accurate. I only gave it 4 stars because it wasn't the best value

This new controller feels exactly like the original gamecube controller! Except with a much longer cable! I highly recommend getting this for Super Smash Bros!
