Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5The system is great for those on the go that want the better battery life and great games. I’ve got a launch console and purchased this with the intent of keeping this as the “primary” console and my original one as my home console. In case you’re wondering the differences are as follows: -screen and console are smaller in size and weight -battery is longer lasting -joy-cons aren’t detachable, they’re built into the system, which means no HD rumble, no IR sensor either -no kickstand -not able to be docked, this is a portable only system, but it runs the entire switch library as long as it doesn’t require the system to be docked -$100 cheaper That said, if this is a travel only supplement or you never play your system docked, this is the Switch for you. If you need the “switch” part of the switch, and want the freedom to detach the controllers and play the game on a tv, then buy the larger version (just make sure it’s the all red box version as that’s the one with the new battery and more efficient chipset like the lite).

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5It all began when my son got a bad grade on a test. I had possession of his Original Nintendo Switch. I did what any self-respecting parent (who owned the NES as a child) would do... I played it. My son was set to come off punishment days before the release date... so what’s a mom to do?

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5At this point in the Nintendo Switch life there's lots of great titles. So the fact that it's now even more mobile to play games on the go, it's a must buy. But the only negative is that there no video output. You can't connect to TV and play. So it's a Switch that doesn't Switch.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I have already played the original switch and used it to its full capacity, and realized that I preferred playing it more as a handheld. The OG Switch is a bit heavier when used as a handheld, so when I heard that Nintendo was coming out with a lite version, I was ecstatic.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5The Switch Lite isn't as small as a Nintendo 3DS, but it feels a lot more portable -- it's about one Joy-Con width shorter, and not as wide. The display ends up looking better, too, since the identical 720p resolution on a smaller screen means higher pixel density.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Graphics, PortableIf you are on the fence as to whether or not you are going to invest in a Nintendo Switch Lite let me start by saying it's definitely worth it! The unit has a great feel in your hand with a matted plastic finish. It's great for not being a fingerprint magnet. The display is very sharp and clear and looks great when playing. You could almost say that the Switch Lite is the successor to the DS family of handhelds. I already own a regular switch but I'm glad I made the move to the portable version!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Battery, Graphics, HandheldCons mentioned:Tv displayI’ve owned the original switch since it launched, and I’ve played it in handheld portable mode about 95% of the time I’ve owned it. So the fact that the switch lite does not dock on a tv is not a deal Breaker for me. I think Nintendo could have added the ability, but I suppose they don’t want to cannibalize the “bigger” dock able switch. Anyway, the switch lite in my opinion is the perfect size for handheld gaming. I have fairly large hands and it is comfortable to hold and play for extended periods. I added this slim clear case that adds small humps on the back sides for your fingers / palms to rest on and I love gaming with it. It actually feels more sturdy in your hands then the larger switch. Probably because the switch lite is on solid piece, there’s no flex on the sides. The buttons are all very responsive and the d pad is what should be on all switch models! The screen on the switch lite is nice and vibrant and has very good viewing angles. I just wish it had some sort of rumble but still not a deal Breaker. Battery life is excellent. I think I average about 4 pushing close to 5 hours of gaming time before I need to recharge it fully. At $199 you really can’t get any other hand held gaming device better than this. There’s a vast selection of switch games, with hundreds more on the way I’m sure. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a switch but doesn’t want to spend $300 for it. You can easily overlook the fact that it doesn’t dock to the tv. This takes you back to the good ole days of gaming on the couch or your bed with handhelds! Nintendo should have called this the Gameboy!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Cons mentioned:Tv displayI’m not much of a gamer, let me get that out of the way. The last console I owned was a PS3 and I most game on my computer. However, since it’s release, the Switch has been an intriguing product for me. I have had numerous handhelds from Nintendo in the past and loved every single one, from GameBoy Color, up to the 2DS XL. So when I saw the Switch boasting console level titles at launch and then watched as many more flooded into the system, I grew more and more interested, but I’m not one to sit in front of a TV and play, so really the Switch would’ve been just a portable device. I was hoping one day Nintendo would make a Switch that was just handheld. I thought I’d have to wait a long time, maybe forever, but then they announced this, and at $100 cheaper. Needless to say I went out and bought this first thing in the morning, and it is everything I wanted and so much more. I ended up getting Super Mario, Pokémon, a Bunch of SNES games, and the original 3 Spyro games which I had forgotten had been remastered. All this, spending the same I would’ve for the standard switch. This is a great deal. TL;DR This is the ideal product for people who want to experience high end, and old school titles in a portable fashion. It has some compromises but they are entirely forgotten once the device is in your hands.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Cons mentioned:Sound qualityThe switch lite is phenomenal and I haven’t been able to put it down in the 2 weeks since I got it. It’s amazing to hold, games run great and the feeling of being able to play amazing games on the go is second to none. That being said, not all Switch games are created equal in terms of graphics. For instance, games like Bayonetta 2 or NBA2k20 look better than Doom but in general pretty much every game I’ve tried so far is a ton of fun to play. Only real downside in my opinion is that the audio without headphones isn’t that great. You can definitely still hear the game but I imagine it would be a little harder to do so in a really noisy environment.

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I recently preordered the Pokémon Switch Lite and it’s gorgeous, cute, pretty, every adjective I like to describe this beauty. I have fibromyalgia and the bigger Switch is too heavy for me to play on (I tried my friend’s) so the Switch Lite was perfect. It’s light enough but feels premium and complete feeling. The D-Pad is soft but firm enough that it’s really a joy to play the 2D games on Nintendo Switch Online and everything else. I can also see for some if you have bigger hands, it might be difficult to play for longer periods of time. But there are hand grip options so I think it’s still a good alternative for those who have been holding out for a Switch. As for the screen size, I was worried that it was too small but honestly, it’s perfect. Also, very clear! Play time depends on the game. Playing Pokémon Let’s Go gets me about 4.5-ish hours with half of the brightness on with about 30% of battery left. I can’t speak for other games like BOTW but I’m trying the Dragon Quest XI S Demo and it takes about 3 hours until the battery came to 35%. All in all, I think I prefer this over the original Switch since I play in my room with no TV most of the time as I did when I’m playing my 3DS. I would definitely recommend it. And, in case anyone is wondering, no signs of drift with mine!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5O.K. It's no 2DS or 2DS XL, but the Nintendo Switch Lite is nonetheless a nice portable console that's easy to grip (for me at least) and fun to use. So far, I've purchased 4 games: "Cuphead," "Super Mario Odyssey," "Untitled Goose Game," and "Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition." I enjoy the performance of the console because it hasn't exhibited any visual lags or other hiccups. Games are fast to load. I love playing video games using physical buttons and the Switch Lite doesn't disappoint; its advantage over the regular Switch is the traditional D-pad which feels great to press, instead of the circular buttons on the Switch Joy-Cons. I wish Nintendo had included a few vibration motors in the Switch Lite because a little rumble would have made the tactility of the console feel a lot better, but it's not a deal-breaker. The speakers perform well enough. They can get loud; I usually have them at around 40-50% volume. It's nice that there are two, one on each side. The screen maxes out at 720p resolution, but given its smaller footprint, the pixel density is high enough for a console of this price. I wish they'd included an ambient light sensor, but this is also not a deal-breaker. I bought the Geek Squad protection for ease of mind but I feel like I won't have a reason to make a claim; unless I spill water on it!
