I bought the Nintendo Wii U somewhat reluctantly. The Nintendo exclusives already out and coming up are what made it worth buying, not the system itself which is underpowered for a next-gen system. Unfortunately, while playing numerous games, I encountered a system error 150-1031, which Nintendo's website didn't have any information on. I called tech support and they told me this is an error they don't yet know how to fix. Googling the error, I found that numerous people have encountered it ever since the Wii U was released in late 2012. It was unclear when talking to tech support if this was a software or hardware issue, but they eventually wanted me to send my brand new Wii U in to them to be fixed. Instead, I exchanged it at Best Buy for another new system. Amazingly, I encountered the same error. So I returned it and gave up. No Wii U for me. If this technical problem has been around for more than a year, and Nintendo still doesn't know how to fix it, this is a serious problem for a system that will probably not survive competition with Xbox One and PS4.

We have had a great deal of trouble setting up the WiiU. It took 3 days of going through directions before we could download the included Windwaker game. We still have not been able to transfer info from the Wii to the WiiU. We emailed Nintendo the first day and have still not gotten an answer to our questions (4th day). The connection between the game pad and screen kept going out. We think we have fixed that by moving the cord from one port in the TV to another. We still have trouble getting the Wii remote to work properly with the WiiU
