If you like dark souls, this game is very similar.

Not quite Dark Souls level good but still very fun

I bought Nioh on a friends suggestion when it came out in February. It was the first time I played a game in the same vein as a Dark Souls or Bloodborne. I instantly fell in love with the feudal Japanese backdrop, which is exquisitely crafted. The attention to detail in the armour and weapons in the game is staggering, as are the amount of options for customization. I loved the story and the super fast paced gameplay (I later played Dark Souls 3 and find the sluggishness to be really bothersome). I even got all the DLC and must say this is one of the best games I have ever played. I cannot wait for the sequel coming later this year.

The game is really good, but I got stuck and can't advance. I put it down for a little while and the following week went back to it and was able to advance. The Game can be challenging and frustrating. When I went back to it without frustration I was able to move forward. A good challenging game.

This game nails its combat system extremely well and while it doesn't quite have those lore-rich details that Dark Souls or Bloodborne have, it's still interesting enough in its own right. It doesn't feel like a cheap imitation at all, so even though it's influenced by those games, it doesn't feel derivative.

This game is trying to be like the Dark Souls games, but with some faster action. And it succeeds with the combat, even though it may not meet Dark Souls standards in other areas like environments and overall design. But still a solid action combat game.

This game is simply amazing. It definitely reminded me of Ninja Gaiden to some extent, but its so much more! Action packed and a bit difficult, but an awesome game you shouldn't miss!

This is even harder than dark souls! I never thought I would say that. But hey that series trained me for games like this. Must buy for hardcore players! Don't bother with this if you're short tempered

If you are at all a fan of the animation priority style of the Souls games, but want a new setting, Look no further. The fact that the world is broken up by level was a little jarring after the open world of other games in the genre, but since it's so mechanically sound, it's a minor issue.

I will say that I haven't beaten the game yet. As a veteran of the souls/bloodborne series, I figured this would be in my wheel house. It took some time to get used to the different systems in the game. It is challenging for sure, and I like that. As for its rank in the soul series, I would put it closer to the bottom. But that is just my take.

Picked this up to go with the rest of my PlayStation classics and so happy I did. Very skillful and challenging gameplay to go long with an intriguing in game story.

This game plays similar to the souls games except in Japan. Some differences being the loot is similar to Diablo, there are different stances for weapons, and more of a narrative story. Solid buy.

Great graphics. This is the game for you if you are into sword fights & very easy to play.

For fans of difficult games like Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Ninja Gaiden, this game has a lot to offer. Stunningly gorgeous graphics, difficult but fair gameplay, and a wonderful setting.

If you like Bloodborne and the various Souls games there is a very good chance you will also like this. There are many elements that are almost exact, but also a good amount that switch things up quite a bit. The combat is more varied with the different stances and each weapon type is fairly unique. The loot system is vastly different with a more borderlands style random loot drop. You will constantly have hundreds of items to sort through. The soundtrack is great and most of the boss fights are enjoyable. The mechanic to fight the AI version of other people who died to get their items is also decently well done. The story its super generic with not much to write home about.

Nioh is an awesome game inspired by the likes of dark souls. If you're a fan of the souls games or like to think through your battles this is for you. If you want easy stay away.
