Tough as nails, but rewarding, Nioh exists to challenge gamers but satisfy them for their dedication. A really fun, if sometimes frustrating, experience.

This is the epitome of fun but frustrating! The gameplay is great, but goodness is it difficult. The graphics are great too, and you’ll have plenty of time to look at them as your character is dying.

I would say for gameplay this is an extremely detailed game. When I started playing at first I really enjoyed how smooth the combat was for a dark souls type game. It felt fluid like and it didn't eat my commands. And after I got used to the gameplay it tells me that I have different stances and different moveset per weapon, which I thought was fantastic.
I would give this a perfect 5 but the art in the levels is a bit lacking. I know what they were trying to do with the art and bad guy art but most of the enemies look the same with just different weapons. You can't tell who can 2 shot you just by looking at them.

It's an excellent combination of both, with a little bit of Onimusha as well an extremely deep RPG system.
If you want the action to feel more fast-paced than your average souls-like, switch to action mode for a faster framerate.

So many times a game comes along and you wait and you read 50 reviews from 50 different sites instead of just buying and playing the game yourself. Now if the game is too short I would rather just read a couple reviews and maybe not that or if it's absolutely flawed. But with nioh you don't get that at all. It's very hard but below average hardcore gamers but you can power through if you learn the combos and the ki system. This game is getting picked apart that if it's better that souls or Bloodborne I say just let it be it's a good game very good game.

So I am a big Demon souls/Dark souls fan so I had to pick this game up and to be 100% percent honest I like its a great game but it's not perfect it's kinda in the middle to me not as hard as Demon souls but a little harder than dark souls 2 I've only played this for a little over 30 hours so far I am playing on the PS4 Pro action mode because I wanted a close to locked frame rate and it's runs great for the most part it's smooth Combat & like the weapon/gear drops frequency I have more stuff than I know what to do with most of the time but do have a few complaints the story is just forgettable and the enemy variety could due with some work but for what it is Nioh is a really fun challenging game if you like dark souls pick it up just wish it was on Xbox1

If you've ever played any of the dark souls games then you're in for a treat. This game has a lot of RPG elements to the weapons system and your characters level increase. Not too brutal on normal difficulty but very challenging on the hard setting. You have to have patience in battles. Very few checkpoints so use your best judgement on who you fight in game. There are also many who will aide you when you look for someone at an alter that can help you out. There are a few flaws but none that would take away from the overall experience of the game.

I am a thrifty gamer, so I often look for deals before I buy an item even if I have to wait. I didn't have to wait long as I just joined Gamer's Club Unlocked and used one of my coupons towards this game. I have spent almost all of my time the last few days playing this challenging game. I have never played a game in the Soul Series or Bloodborne, so this genre was new to me. I will be checking out the aforementioned games because of how good this one is done. If you can get a deal, great! If not, don't worry it's well worth your money.

Being a Dark Souls vet, you probably looked at this game and thought it was another clone, as i did at first, but I urge you to get your hands on this gem and try it out for yourself. It may have some features where it is Dark Souls reminiscent but, trust me, this game is in a whole other league in strategy and gameplay. I won't spoil anything for you cause i feel strongly that it is an experience you need to have in your life and figure out on your own! Overall, if you enjoyed Dark Souls, then you'll have countless hours of fun in this!

Pretty solid game, similar to Sekiro and other FromSoftware games but not quite up to par with Soulsborne game. More difficult but not for the right reason. Still a good game though.

This game is very similar to the Souls series, except it’s slightly faster paced combat and it has a story to go with the gameplay.
