KOEI-TECMO and team ninja did a great job. I believe the merger was great for both companies and the "warriors" series was always some good fun, but got repetitive and hardly challenging. Team ninja helped make this game difficult on a skill scale, not just mob killing and takes an approach similar to the dark souls series with more fluidity. Has some historical roots from Japan scattered here and there A1 gameplay too.

Amazing game with very similar combat style as dark souls series. Graphics could be better but the 60fps is much appreciated that fancy textures. Really enjoy this action rpg game.

some people will say that this is a 'souls' game, however, i would like to compare this to an evolved onimusha during the ps2 era. the story isn't lackluster, if anything, it has an entertaining theme behind it using the already ubiquitous sengoku era in japan. overall, you're really getting your money's worth in purchasing this game. i'm not a fan of buying season passes, however, for this one, i can do the once in a while exception.

If you played the Dark Souls franchise, you will feel right at home. What I like about Nioh is that that the combat is at a faster pace, which I prefer. The combat is the highlight of this game, you have many assortment of weapons to choose from. You can even change the stance of how you use your weapon, which adds a whole new element in the combat. Overall this is a good game to try out if you enjoy dark souls.

This game is amazing. The game is pretty hard but fun. This game plays like bloodborne and dark souls.

Highly recommended if you liked Bloodbourne or Dark Souls. Heck, highly recommended PERIOD!!! once you figure out the coop it is seamless to coop and and you will have a blast.

Basically similar to a Souls game. It's hard but well-made, and if you're up for the challenge then it's pretty satisfying. Lots to customize and master.

borrowing just about about everything from the souls series but with it's own touches, Nioh is a tough but fun experience. The narrative is slightly better but the gear customization blows away ds set up. The locations in Nioh are just ok but the combat has its own flavor and outshines the souls series. Unwanted invaders are not an issue with this game, instead you can challenge npc and human invaders by selecting their sword imbedded in the ground. You can review an opponent's level before summoning them for a fight. If you like a dark souls kind of play you should definitely give Nioh a try.

If you like Dark Souls then get ready to take on Nioh. Combat is actiony and the fuedal Japan supernatural setting is awesome. One of the better PS4 exclusives!

Okay, so I'm going to say it: Nioh is the best Souls-like game since Demon's Souls/Dark Souls. Incredibly well-made, engrossing, and the fun-factor is off the charts. It's also the perfect Souls/Onimusha/Tenchu mix I've ever seen. Currently on region 5 and cannot put this game down. Personal ranking for reference: 1. Demon's Souls 2. Dark Souls + DLC/Nioh 3. Bloodborne 4. Dark Souls 2 + DLC 5. Dark Souls 3 + DLC so far

This game is a raging stressful good time! Reminds me of the Dark Souls series but with an asian theme. Game is extremely hard and not for the faint of heart. The bosses are great as are the controls. Would recommend to serious gamers. Casual gamers will not like the game as it is too challenging and will take a while to move on to the next level. If you like hard fun games then this game is for you.

I've gotten a PS4 pro pretty recently and I had a long list of games I had to put my hands on. Nioh and The Last Guardian were must-haves and the deals were a steal.
