This game is hard but ultimately rewarding for those who stick with it and learn from their mistakes. Like the Dark Souls games, this game will have you dying a lot, but the game never really feels unfair. If you want intense nail biting action than look no further than Nioh.

Nioh may just be the best game of 2017. Definitely a sleeper hit. Amazing graphics and gamelan. Challenging but rewarding. I highly recommend this game for any ps4 owner. It's a must have.

This is by far one of the best action games to come out in the last few years. It’s difficult but not punishing, it’s deep but manageable. It’s the epitome of the “Demon Souls”esque genre.

The game is beautiful, with a more intuitive button layout than the souls games. The combat is also more fun; it will be difficult to go back to the other games once I finish this one.

Before I purchased this game ,I never even heard of it. I almost missed out on this work of art. It was so good I ended up gifting two more copies to family and they love it as well.

Great game, I usually don't get too excited over traditional fighting games that come out anymore but this one was different and kept me on my toes. Has a great story line as well.

Nioh is a great action role-playing game by Team Ninja. It's kind of niche and challenging to a casual audience, but it has solid mechanics and substance if you're looking for that.

A lot of people have said this very closely resembles the Dark Souls series, and while that may be true, this isn't exactly a copy and paste job here. This is the first game that really goes above and beyond the Souls series with improved combat and fresh new ideas.

Couldn't pass this one up for the price. It plays like the Dark Souls games, but you're an awesome ninja. Also be aware there is a Season Pass on PSN if you want the complete game.

If you like games like ninja gaiden, dark souls or bloodborne this game is for you and shouldn't be missed. Combat is fun, story is pretty good. Only downside is slight repetiveness and enemy variation. Luckily the combat system and boss battles more than make up for those negatives. I just beat the main story and main side missions and they are already releasing patches with more missions. Game seems to have great support from its developers.

This game is very similar to the Souls series with the main difference being the setting and the game being played more in levels rather than an open area. Very difficult game that can be rewarding but also frustrating, not for new or inexperienced gamers.

This game is awesome and is quite similar to Dark Souls/Bloodborne. If you like those you will definitely like this! This is the Onimusha game that we have been waiting for! The combos, leveling, weapons, and level design is top-notch. Its also a very lengthy game, with over 80 hrs of content. You will die, and you will die alot but it is immensely satisfying when you finally conquer the level. I can't recommend this enough! 5stars!

Got this on Black Friday. Amazing deals. Super fun and the graphics are excellent. Played for hours as soon as it was installed. Waiting for the weekend. Get this game now.

While this game has been compared with Dark Souls, it definitely sets itself apart and stands out to fans of this genre. Visuals are beautiful and fantastic in both action and movie modes. Controls are smooth. Action is intense and fierce. Definitely one of the best games of 2017. KoeiTecmo has possibly started a successful franchise and I hope more is to come. This game has received numerous praise and deserves mine as well.

definitely similar to dark souls and bloodborne and previous ninja gaiden games, you get out what you put into it. if you button mash youre gonna get killed over and over and over, with patience and perseverance you'll grow to enjoy it more and more

If you love games like Bloodborn and Dark Souls you will probably love this game as well. It's a bit faster and more like Ninja Gaiden but it will feel familiar and the gmstable framerate makes it a very good play. Would not recommend this for people who are new to action games or are easily frustrated. I will say that it feels easier compared to From Software games, but harder than most of Koei Tecmo's games for sure.

I just bought a 4k tv & PS4 Pro, and this was one of my first games I bought, not knowing much about it. So far it's a beautiful game, the controls aren't difficult to use or anything. But if you think you'll just be able to start the game and just play through it, you'll be in for a shock! You are SUPER-underpowered to begin the game, so you have to grind not immediately, but still, WAY earlier than you'd expect. Otherwise, you'll die constantly! And have to keep playing the same boring area over and over again! But yeah, once you level up a bit, it gets better.

This game is punishing but it has very cool set pieces. Despite my title this game isn't a Dark Souls clone but if you like Dark Souls/Bloodborn you will like Nioh.

I'm about 10 hours in and am completely in love with this game. If you like Dark Souls games or just difficult games you will definitely like Nioh. The feudal Japan setting makes it even more awesome!!!!

So what people have said this being similar to the dark souls games is true. Although not as difficult it still a very tough game. Fun if you are into that stuff.
