    Easy to Use Software

The software is easy to install and easy to use. It will also protect several other devices and the one that seemed most important was the cell phone as I do a lot of payments and web browsing. The speed will slow down some but I expect thats because of the security code and being connected to different servers. You can even pick which area you would like to connect to or it will do it automatically. As far as security i'm assuming it has been working as I have not had any issues with my identity or account info being leaked. I definitely recommend it to those that do sensitive transactions with your cell phone and laptop/tablet.

I've had NordVPN now for 3 years, probably close to their start. I use them on a Mac, iPads and iPhone, Their apps are tops, easy to use. Plenty of servers to pick from, and they do not keep logs.

This review is mainy based on the install and ease of use so far. I have kept my DL speed that I can tell. Windows store did not connect but that is the only app I have noticed not working when NordVPN is set to on. There are options to set to turn on automatically when the PC does (also available Mac and Mobile). If you are needs are in line with this product, I would reccomend.

I have been using NORDVPN for the last year and I can say it is the best VPN out there. The first thing I like about it is that it is easy to install on computers and phones. You basically create your account, download the app for your device, log in and connect to your favorite server around the globe. Other things I like are the fast connection speeds, and the fact that you can connect five devices. If you travel a lot or travel overseas, this is the VPN to get.

Without going into a long-winded "This is what a VPN is" review I'll just keep it simple and say this product works and is extremely easy and straightforward to setup. I have this installed on my MacBook Pro and my iPhone 7 plus, although I do not typically join public Wifi on my phone it is a nice piece of mind for privacy/security when I do find the need to use Wifi. I enjoy the variety of servers to connect to and the interface is very easy to navigate. I haven't noticed a significant drop in speed, but I have only used this on my workplace guest and at home. I have some travel coming up so I'll be able to test in the airport and the hotel (2 places you most certainly want to utilize NordVPN). All in all, I would recommend this to friends and family, small price to pay for the privacy we regularly/unknowingly give away.

I must confess, I had never heard of this company until Best Buy sent me an invitation to review this product. Well, the product made its presence known quickly after I downloaded the app from the Google Play store, set up an account, and thereafter, I was good to go! This product offers robust protection. I am especially grateful that it covers cell phones, because I pay several of my bills directly from my cell phone. Since installing this program, I feel secure knowing that hackers won't get sensitive information that belongs to me! Great job NordVPN!!!

I really like this VPN compared to my last one. Speed and reliability is bar none the best yet out of the 5 total I have tried in the past 2 years. Windows install is a breeze the ability to turn it on and off so quickly makes the ease of use smooth. Using it on an Android phone is simple and effective. I can easily turn it on, switch servers and even block adds on my android now. I also setup my router to have it built in, this is nice to know all devices are covered within the house. I am finally at home with a VPN, I will be a Nord customer for life.

I really do like this VPN. I have only ever used a few VPN products before and this one ranks at the top. Getting it on my phone, tablet, and computer was easy. I think you can put this product on up to 6 devices. My only issue with the product is that any time I lock my phone the VPN disconnects. And after I unlock my phone it can take a little while for the VPN to connect again. However, my phone has been acting a bit odd lately and so it may just be my phone that is the problem. On my computer I had to click on it a few times before it would connect but overall it is a good product and I recommend it.

When I got this, I followed the card in which it told me to download the program, which I did. Then, I attempted to sign up, but didn't realize I had to go to a different website address to create an account and put in my activation code that was in the box. So I did that and then it was easier. In fact, I had downloaded from the MAC store first and inadvertently bought a monthly subscription that I cancelled right away, because I was looking for a way to enter my activation code somewhere. That issue in the rear view mirror, I've been very impressed with the performance so far. It connects each time I open the lid of my MacBook and also when I ask it to connect on my phone. You can scroll to where you want to connect to, and then connect. I picked the USA of course, but it isn't clear what area of the USA that server # 123 or 456 is located. I found it said some servers were overloaded when looking at the list, so I picked others that didn't say that. On the MAC, you can say CONNECT from the icon at the top of the screen and pick USA without figuring out which server to use. That was easy. On the iPhone, I did a quick connect and it figured out to use the USA and connected very fast. Coming over from a competitive product, I'm very impressed with the performance. I was used to endless attempts to connect when I opened up my MacBook, but now I'm very happy seeing NORDVPN connect. They say that they don't keep logs, keep your info secure, etc. That is good. You do have to register to use the product, which I understand but don't like - I'd prefer to just activate without having to create an account and at renewal time remind me and let me but it from PayPal or whatever. Performance was awesome - using speedtest.net I didn't find any slowdown from when I wasn't using the VPN - this is a big improvement over the other product I was using. I hope this works out as I expect it will, but so far I'm very impressed in particular comparing it to a competitive product. Macbook and iPhone performance are excellent - give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Over 3,000 _ servers to use.... super easy to install. Works seamlessly on multiple devices. I was new to VPN's but have learned so much recently. I would not connect to a public wifi without one now. Primarily use this with my iPhone 8. Love it. Connects in seconds and I feel safer and more secure with my internet use on my phone now. the interface may seem simple for some, but you do not need it to be complicated. I like how quick I was up and running.

I needed to do some research on VPN and found that it was something that I truly needed especially on our phones where we use unsecured connections while shopping and traveling. This was easy to install, downloaded the app, opened the app and trusted the site. My phone was the first one and I created my account which was very easy to do. I used the instructions on where my activation code was listed and it went smoothly from there. It protects you from annoying ads and malicious online threats. It takes privacy to the next level by blocking harmful websites - no malware or other cyber threats can infect your device. Pop-up and auto play ad are blocked too. It prevents you from entering dangerous websites. If you want to go to a site that is on the "don't go there" list you have to disable the feature manually. You are able to load this VPN protection onto 6 devices and/or on to you router. It is a 1-yr subscription so I will see how my year goes as to whether I renew next July. So far... so good!! Very hopefully this is going to help protect our devices from hackers and I can still enjoy online shopping without the worry of my credit cards being exposed!

    A Network that's Virtually Private

I decided to try this VPN service for my phone and laptop that I frequently use to connect through various public WiFi locations. I've used VPN clients on work machines before and know they can sometimes be a pain. However, installing and then enabling or disabling the NordVPN on both my Windows 10 laptop and Android phone was super easy. The Android client also shows your transmit/receive rate as well as total data which is nice. The performance hit wasn't noticeable on either the laptop or the phone. I've a wireless ISP at home where I can normally get 15-20 Mbps, though, so it's quite possible I may see a difference when travelling and connected through a higher-speed network. From what I've read on their web site, there is also no bandwidth/data transfer limit. For those worried about the prying eyes of government, Nord is legally based in Panama so they say they don't have any requirements to retain or share logs. For me, I think this is going to be well worth a few dollars a month to have a secure VPN option. I like that it's easy to use and easy to see when it's active or not. The ad blocking and malware protection is an added bonus. There are cheaper (and free) VPN services out there, but I've always been reluctant to trust them. I could always be wrong, but NordVPN looks like one of the more trust-worthy VPN services out there.

    Easy to Use, Advanced Features

This 1 year subscription in a box for NordVPN was super easy to setup, and is now running seamlessly on my desktop computer, notebook computer, and mobile phone. This product comes in a cardboard box, but the only thing inside is a card with a printed activation code and website address. You'll use that to set up your account, which is super easy. Just go to the website, enter your email address, select a password, and type in the code. That's it. I had an account with a year of service within 2 minutes of opening the box. Next step is to download the NordVPN client, login with the email address and password used during account setup, and turn on the VPN service. The NordVPN client is available for Mac, Windows, Android, and iOS. I tried it on three of those four platforms, and found the same straightforward look and feel on all three. The interface is intuitive, and makes it easy to tell whether you're connected to the service. If you don't need to mess with the advanced features, there's the option to quickly connect. For those with more complicated needs, there are a variety of options, like choosing servers based on where they're located (appear to the Internet as if you're coming from a specific country), what special connections they offer (like Peer to Peer file sharing or Onion Over VPN). There's also a double-VPN option, where your network traffic is routed through multiple servers to make it even harder to be tracked. There's also a Chrome extension, which I was able to use on my Chromebook, but only web browsing was protected. NordVPN supports L2TP/IPSec, however, which allowed me to protect all traffic from my Chromebook. It was a few more steps to set up (there's a tutorial on the NordVPN website), and it's not as secure as using the NordVPN app, but is a lot better than no protection at all. Any VPN service is going to cause some reduction in speed. I found that NordVPN had moderate slowdowns... around 25% slower than without using the VPN, which is similar to other paid VPN services I've used (and better than most free VPN services). Overall, I feel like NordVPN offers high quality VPN protection at a reasonable price. The client software is simple and easy to use for a novice, while anyone who needs the more advanced features can find them in the settings menus. Overall, I'm happy with the product and would recommend it to others.

A VPN packed full of features

If you don't like people (ISP) snooping on you, a VPN is the way to go. I downloaded the client and put in my info and within 2 minutes was up and running (sort of). With military grade encryption, Double VPN which is great. This feature is a game changer!! The first VPN knows your original IP, But with Double, when you log in the IP is changed then on to a second VPN it changes your IP again. So, with this tunneling, this adds a second layer of secrecy. And CyberSec which blocks malware and adds, is a new feature that separates itself from other VPNs. This is one of the best Optioned VPNs out there. Before I connected my average was: 70 down and 6 up. When I connected My Speeds were 8 mb down and 5 up. I was very disappointed. So (as the help section on the site suggests) I switched VPN areas from the US to Greece, Canada, Mexico, and Russia. This slowed my speed down more. So, I switched again to Demark and the speeds came back up a little. I tried a few others, the speed was down, border line unacceptable. I noticed at times that loading pages was so slow it timed out but I tried it again and again. Finally, after 30 seconds Google appeared. Then went on to other sites with no issues. I am sure that depending on the time of day there will be slow downs as more people will be signed in. As suggested I tried multiple areas and hosts that had less than 10% utilization. My speed was like being on a rollercoaster, speed up then down, then up. I hit the Nord help area again and tried what they suggest and this fixed my issues for the most part. I would advise those with issues to go here for help. After 10 minutes my speed was stable and almost matched my regular speed. I went to and tried multiple sites. I streamed, downloaded, uploaded with no issues. I guess you just have to be patient until you notice speeds are up the start your work. I was very happy with my test after a period of 15 minutes had passed since logging in. It literally changed my opinion. I logged in to my Netflix account and started a movie, I had issues with this, even on servers that only had 9% capacity, my browser kept timing out. I then got an email from Netflix saying that suspicious activity was found and they automatically changed my password. So, take note this might not play well with Netflix. With my Hulu account, I could start a good stream and had no problems at all. For best results, I would advise you to find a favorite server that gives you consistent results. For me the US, Canada servers were the best. I also tested on my Android phone, and the app worked flawlessly and was just as easy to setup as the PC side. I am giving this a 4 for the amount of options that are useful for VPN users. I would have given it a 5 had my speed been fast right off the bat and not 10 minutes after logging in. I would recommend this to friends and family.

Secure your internet use a virtual private network

Not too long ago, I had to educate some loved ones about the danger of using public WiFi hotspots. As convenient as they are, they are a hotbed of potential security risks for your personal data. Public hotspots are essentially a shopping mall for hackers. When you're on an unsecured network, like a public hotspot, you're susceptible to packet sniffers, which is like wiretapping on a telephone network except that it's a way to gain access to personal data through a computer. In addition to this type of security breach, you're also playing the game of chance that the business you're visiting is not monitoring your activity. Take a close look at the image below. This was captured when I was having some work done on my truck. The company notifies its patrons that while they are connected to the public WiFi at their location that "no communication should be considered private" and that communications are "subject to monitoring". To me, this is a very scary prospect and so I wanted to make sure my loved ones were using a VPN. VPN stands for Virtual Private Network and it's a network technology that secures a network connection over a public network. This technology is used frequently by government agencies and large companies to make sure that users are securely connected to a private network. There are many VPN providers out there and it can be hard to determine which service will work best for you. NordVPN is now my VPN of choice. I recently was a full-time user of Private Internet Access until I started having issues with the service. It wasn't allowing me to connect to it when I was on certain public WiFi spots. I had those issues enough times that I contacted the company to only get the runaround. What good is a VPN if you can't use it? This led me to a search for a new service - one that not only would be fast but always work. Some businesses have found ways to block certain VPN services so that when you try to connect to your VPN of choice you're left with what I had been dealing with while using PIA. This was something that I could not afford to deal with. After signing up for my plan and downloading the software, I was connected and using a VPN within about 90 seconds. Once you install the software on your system, you simply enter your account information and click 'connect'. You do have the option to select a specific country of origin before connecting and your VPN broadcast will be illustrated on the map in the dashboard. You even have the ability to select your favorite servers in the dashboard. When it came to testing, I primarily used my MacBook Pro and was looking to test the speed more than any other feature. I was very impressed that speed didn't seem to be affected too drastically. I am a happy NordVPN user and I keep it running on my Mac and iPhone all the time. In this day in age, a VPN in a public setting is a must. NordVPN is a very easy to use, online security system. I can recommend it wholeheartedly and think that anyone using public hotspots should use NordVPN. NordVPN recently started making their services available through retail establishments like Best Buy. I do like that it's more easily available for more people through retail sales. The one thing I don't like about this is that there is a huge waste of packaging. As a retail package, NordVPN comes in a full size box that is recognizable to anyone who has searched for software before. I would much prefer that NordVPN provide their retail packaging in something more like a gift card. I just feel that it's a bit of a waste with the packaging. NordVPN is a solid option for safeguarding your internet connections when you're in public areas. I can recommend it based off of my own experiences and success while using it when I travel.
