I am a bit conflicted with the Norton 360 Deluxe + Lifelock protection suite, while it has the familiar Norton Anti-virus interface, out of the box the product will not leave you alone. I’ve used other anti-virus suites and Norton has to be the chattiest of them all, especially soon after you install it. Reminding you to use the included VPN, Dark Web Monitoring, Cloud Backup and Password Manager. You can reduce the number of notifications in the notification tab under settings, but the default configuration out of the box is just chatty, especially trying to upsell and have you subscribe to other add ons. In most cases though the configuration out of the box for protection is very good for typical users. Let’s start with the Device Security, where you can scan your hard drives, removable drives, force updates of virus definitions manually (this happens in the background automatically) and review security logs. Internet Security, which monitors your Internet activity for various threats, but unlike another product I use it does not seem eager to block connections to various sites sometimes embedded in a web page. For instance, MSN.com often has third-party trackers and connects to other sites, often those that have expired certificates (which sometimes is an indicator of a less than secure site). Norton 360 does not even appear to log those sites, much less block them. I have seen no trackers blocked as indicated in the tracker dashboard which seems odd and has me wondering if this functionality is selectively enforced. Backup, which can back up your PC and important data to the cloud (the version I have provides 100GB of storage). However, if you have a large amount of picture or videos on your computer, you need to utilize this capability smartly given the cloud storage constraints. Again, you can only configure this if you have administrative rights on your PC, that level of access is also needed to make any real configuration changes with the product. As part of standard best security practices, you should use an account on your PC that has simple user rights and only use a full administrator account for configuring changes to your applications or PC. Performance, again you need full administrative rights to Optimize the disk, you can do a limited file cleanup which only cleans up your browser caches and Windows Temporary files that are under your user profile. Startup manager will allow you to configure the startup behavior of your PC and displays the impact that programs are having on how quickly Windows starts up). It found one program that I set to disable auto startup. Depending on how much software you have installed on your PC, Startup manager could significantly help with the performance on your system. Dark web monitoring is part of Norton Life Lock service and can be configured to monitor dark web activity with any of your personal information, such as address and email addresses as well as other Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Phone Numbers, Driver’s License, Mothers maiden name and Gamer tag. Now this is great service if you are comfortable with providing all this information in one place and with Norton (what if they get breached?). All of this opens a browser and is not integrated into the Norton Interface itself. Secure VPN – most security suites offer VPN access which can help secure some of your information and web surfing activities. Most VPN connections slow your connection down from your PC or Mobile device as all your internet traffic through a setup of servers. The VPN functionality has evolved from the last time I used it back in 2022, with the usual options to auto connect or when you connect to unsecured networks. There is also a split tunnelling option in case you have an app that does not function correctly when using a VPN connection. If you plan to use their VPN, you can only specify a country, not a specific city to connect to. Their VPN servers are well known, and most content providers will be able to detect that you are using a VPN (in case you were going to try to spoof Netflix or another service by connecting to a different country). Password Manager – useful for some, I use one that is built into the OS of my smartphone. Parental Controls – useful for those with children, opens a browser to configure instead of doing it within the app and requires that you install the Norton Family app on their device. Now to the list of Pros and Cons: >>> Pros >> Superior performance, not a huge resource hog >> rated high as it catches most threats >> Fairly configurable if you have Administrator rights, logging into an elevated account to do that is annoying >> Cloud storage (100GB) with my subscription level (Deluxe) >> VPN included >> Software Firewall included, preconfigured for typical use and adjusts per application <<< Cons << The product out of the box is too chatty, although configurable in the notifications section (admin access required) to quiet it down. << too much focus on unselling your subscription << VPN is only configurable by country, not a specific city within one << Limited amount of VPN servers worldwide.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed review! It’s great to hear you appreciate the strong protection, configurability, and included features like VPN and cloud backup. We understand your concerns about notifications and upselling—those can definitely feel overwhelming at first. Adjusting the notification settings, as you mentioned, is a good way to make the experience smoother.

Great functionality, but lots of ads

Norton offers great protection while always improving the interface year over year. This year is no different with a great feature set in this five-device version. Resource management appears to be minimal on average with no noticeable speed hits on my laptop. Pros: - Great interface - Low resource usage - Great feature set Cons: - Excessive ads to upgrade features - Limited cloud storage - Many settings or features are web-based functions Setup: The installation process was painless. After claiming my activation code from Norton.com, I downloaded the file, installed and restarted the computer after a quick scan. I was slightly annoyed initially as it stated there were multiple driver and registry issues which required an upgrade to fix. You can skip it, but this ad will pop up each time you do a “Smart Scan”. Daily use: The software is great this year overall and loaded with security features. I would avoid a smart scan due to the ongoing ad that I mentioned, but scheduling a quick scan or full scan is a painless routine. In the first few days I got random pop-up ads to upgrade the software. You can mark them to never appear again, but it is very annoying at first. Additionally, I found that if you go to the Norton website, you can disable a few more marketing items. Backups: Cloud backups are useful if you have a few folders with important items such as documents. I do not recommend it for music or photo backup though as the space shown in my account is 152GB which will fill up quickly with photos, music or videos. Performance: The performance tab contains a software updater, file cleanup, and startup manager. These tasks can be done on your own without the software, but this allows a one stop shop for automation or if you do not know how to get to those Windows features. The software updater does fine a few programs that did not show updates when I opened the programs specifically, so that was nice. Privacy: The privacy tab is very useful as it contains the VPN. This can be used manually, but you can also set it up, so it only turns on when you are on a compromised network or an unsecure network. There are some web based or phone app-based functions here that are included, which include scam protection for emails, phone calls, or SMS messages. I love the email feature as you tie it to your email account, Norton will scan it and mark it as save on your email web browser message. Thone functions require the app, and you will need to turn on Norton as the default method of screening those features, but they appear to be effective on my Android device and iPhone. For my Pixel, I prefer to keep the Pixel’s built-in screening as the default, but if that was not present, Norton seems like a good option. Lifelock: Lifelock is a pretty much entirely web-based function. You will need to enter private data to keep it effective such as name, number, SSN, ID number, Passport number, bank account numbers, and so on. But it will monitor your accounts and data for data breaches. If you use this function, please turn on an app-based 2FA on the website to ensure you have extra layers of security to your private data. Other features: There is an included password manager, but I experienced issues with import from my other manager, so I did not switch to it fully. That was just my experience though; yours may differ. Intrusion detection, quarantine, camera protection, browser extensions, parental controls and many more features are present as well. Resource management: On my laptop I noticed zero performance issues. On my 32GB laptop the program used about 550MB of RAM at any given time. The firewall sometimes jumped up to 5-11% of CPU but it only lasted a second or two. Any other process from the program was below 1%. While running a scan, the main process went to 10%. This is on a 16 core Intel Core Ultra 9 285H while plugged in. Compared to past versions this all seems to be an improvement in my opinion. Phone app: The phone-based apps are very useful. Just be sure to decide how much control you wish for it to have on your device and if you want many background processes to run which may affect your battery life. On iPhone the app is fairly simple, mainly adding a VPN profile and scam protection features discussed earlier. On Android, the app runs much more in the background scan basically everything including apps downloaded from the app store. This did not bog down my device in any noticeable way, but I can’t rule out it might affect your battery as it is always on.

The perfect set of Internet Safety Tools for home.

I have used this suite of Norton tools for 5 days now and I am very pleased with the results so far. Norton 360 Deluxe and LifeLock Select was very easy to install and setup. I haven't had any problems using this on any of my devices. I have it installed on 5 different devices; 1 Windows Desktop, 2 Windows Laptops, and 2 Android Cell Phones. Most importantly, I didn't experience any performance degradation and it didn't cause additional battery drain on my devices. I will break down my review in detail below: 1) Installation and Setup: I first had to setup an account on my.norton.com, then activate the Key Code that was emailed to me. There are links to download each application for Windows, Mac, Android, or iPhone. They all installed quickly without errors. 2) Norton 360 Deluxe (Antivirus and Internet Security): Norton 360 automatically runs a "Smart Scan" upon installation and will also schedule one to be run weekly, which can be changed. Over the past 5 days, it hasn't flagged any false positives as a virus or malware and all of my devices have continued to run perfectly fine. Norton 360 also includes Cloud Backup, File Cleanup, Startup Manager, SafeCam (protects the Webcam and Microphone from unauthorized use). However, the File Cleanup and Startup Manager require an additional purchase of Norton Utilities Ultimate. If you don't purchase this, a notice will constantly display on the Norton 360 main panel. This is one of my complaints, because it doesn't go away even when you turn off promotional advertisements. 3) Norton VPN: This is where Norton 360 Deluxe first shines for me. It has a feature that will automatically turn the VPN on, when it detects you are connected to an unsecured or risky network. For example, it has automatically turned the VPN on when I was at a hotel or restaurant that didn't have a secure network. But, in my home, it detected that it was secure, so it didn't turn the VPN on. In addition, you can specify what networks you want to trust or not. I travel a lot and connect to a lot of different hotels, restaurants, and businesses so this is a great feature for me. 4) Identity Protection and LifeLock: This is a huge bonus for me too. I really like having the LifeLock Select with Dark Web monitoring, Privacy Monitor, and Identity Theft Insurance. These features are worth the total cost just by itself. I was the victim of Identity Theft several years ago and will never be without this again. Identity Theft Insurance, Dark Web monitoring, and Privacy monitoring are 3 distinctly different features. With Identity Theft Insurance, LifeLock will assist in recovery and reimburse you for expenses to recover losses due to Identity Theft. Dark Web monitoring alerts you when your personal information and/or financial records have been found on the Dark Web. This includes name, address, phone numbers, credit card numbers, etc. Lastly, Privacy monitoring notifies you when a Data Broker has and may be selling, your personal information. There are several hundred Data Brokers that LifeLock looks at for your information on their website. However, most of these have to be manually removed by you, which requires a lot of time. My big complaint was that I couldn't enter all of my personal financial information from my Desktop PC and that it had to be done via my phone App. In addition, LifeLock and Identity Protect only covers 1 individual, not 5. Summary: I really like Norton 360 Deluxe with LifeLock Select. This meets all of my expectations without sacrificing performance or requiring a difficult setup process. When it comes time to renew, I will certainly consider this again and would highly recommend this to anyone. At $49.99 for 5 devices or $10.00/device, I feel this is an excellent value. However, for a family you may need additional licenses of LifeLock and Identity Protection for other members of your family.

    Good Value for Comprehensive Protection

In the past, Norton had a reputation for making bloated software that slowed down your computer and provided questionable protection. Those days appear to be long gone, as Norton's latest software is now much more efficient with minimal impact on system performance. The catch is that, in addition to antivirus features, the company is now bundling a ton of extra identity protection and online security options into its software that may simply be overkill for some users. === PROS === - Installation is very easy. You'll receive a key code that you redeem on Norton.com to activate your subscription and install the software. The installation file is surprisingly small, and the installation process is very quick. During installation, you'll be able to activate all of the included features such as LifeLock monitoring, PC cloud backup, VPN auto-connect, and password management. - Once installed, the software seems to run very quietly in the background. During regular use over the last week, I've only noticed 2 or 3 alerts from the software for warnings about malicious sites. It has recognized all of my frequently used applications as legitimate and automatically allowed Internet and webcam access where necessary. - There is no perceivable impact to system performance. I installed this on a gaming laptop and I have not noticed any slowdowns in games or dips in framerates. Task Manager reports that all Norton processes use about 200 MB of RAM collectively, so this appears to be a very lightweight and efficient application. - This version of Norton 360 Deluxe comes with a full suite of features that will appeal to less tech-savvy users or those who desire comprehensive identify protection. In addition to real-time threat/virus protection, you get a VPN (with surprisingly fast speeds), automatic backups with 100 GB of cloud storage (you can choose to back up any folder on your system), a password manager, and identity theft protection through LifeLock. The software makes it very easy to control all of these features in one place, which is great for those family members who just one a one-stop solution for online security. === CONS === - When activating your subscription, pay attention to the option to enable automatic renewals. It might seem like a good option, but it will basically lock you into the full retail price when your first year is up. You'll almost certainly be able to find a cheaper price than what the automatic renewal offers before your first year ends. - In the Norton software, the company often tries to upsell you to more of their products (such as "Norton Utilities Ultimate") by offering free trials. Some of these upsell ads appear prominently on the main screen of the software. It's unfortunate that Norton shows these ads to paying customers. - This package has a ton of included features, but it may be too much for some users who just want simple anti-virus protection. Similarly, tech-savvy users might prefer other backup/VPN utilities the offer more advanced options. === OVERALL === For the average user, this Norton 360 Deluxe offers a compelling suite of features that provide peace of mind in this era of endless internet/security threats. The inclusion of LifeLock identity protection provides further protection of your personal information and credit history. The software program itself is very efficient with little or no impact to system performance. It may be overkill for some users, but this is an excellent option for those looking for comprehensive protection in one package.

Thank you for sharing such a balanced and detailed review! It’s great to hear that Norton has improved significantly in terms of efficiency and performance—your observation about minimal resource usage and no gaming slowdowns is especially reassuring for users with high-performance systems.
Your breakdown of the pros is very helpful, particularly the ease of installation and the inclusion of features like VPN, cloud backup, and LifeLock identity protection. These extras can provide real peace of mind for those who want an all-in-one solution.
I also appreciate your honest feedback on the cons.

In order to prevent your Norton subscription from renewing automatically, please follow instructions here: https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20090818144126EN

From time to time, you may receive promotional offers related to your subscription (like discounts or special deals) via in-product messaging that are displayed on your device. We try to balance your privacy with our concern for your Internet safety. However, your feedback is really important to us and we will share this with our teams internally for review. In the meantime, please follow instructions here https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v138304110 to manage special offer notifications.

And you make a good point that this suite might feel like overkill for users who only need basic antivirus protection or prefer more advanced standalone tools.
Overall, your review does a great job of highlighting why Norton 360 Deluxe is a strong choice for users seeking comprehensive protection, while also pointing out areas where expectations should be managed. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience—it’s very helpful for others making a decision! norton_us

    Quick/Easy Setup, Compressive Protection

As a long time Norton user, I’m pretty familiar with their software and services. This 360 Deluxe with LifeLock Select version is an upgrade from my current subscription of Norton 360 Premium, as LifeLock Select adds comprehensive identity theft protection like credit monitoring and recovery and restoration services with reimbursement coverage up to $25K for stolen funds and an additional $25K for personal expenses on top of their standard max coverage of $1 million for lawyer and expert fees, if needed. The digital version of the software can be downloaded from the internet, installed, and activated in just a few minutes. You can protect a range of devices from computers, laptops, and tablets to mobile phones. While this package doesn’t protect as many devices as my previous plan, 5 versus 10, I wasn’t using a majority of my activations anyway. There is slightly more cloud backup storage in this plan at 100 GB whereas my other subscription had just 75 GB, however, since both subscriptions are active with a 3-month overlap, I currently have 175GB of cloud backup until my original subscription expires, and then I’ll have to move all my devices over to the new plan. In our household, we are primarily concerned about online safety and scam protection for the eldest member of the household, a nonagenarian who uses the internet on a daily basis. We worry they could mistakenly click on links in scam emails or dubious pop-up ads and want to ensure they are not vulnerable to password breaches and all the other ways bad actors might target susceptible folks. Private browsing helps with this as it protects them from trackers and can block ads automatically. A new feature with this plan is AI-powered scam protection where Genie, Norton’s AI assistant, helps detect and block suspicious messages or webpages using AI analysis, and we’ve noticed fewer random pop-ups while web browsing as a result. There’s also scam reimbursement up to $10k if you do fall victim to one. The VPN is easy to turn on with a simple toggle in the software’s control panel as are other features like Safecam, which blocks unauthorized accesses to your webcam and microphone, and privacy monitor, a service that looks for your information from various data brokers and helps you remove your data. Just note that signing up for LifeLock requires entering a SSN, and you can only enroll one person from your household with this plan. For the credit monitoring, you can choose 1 of the 3 major credit bureaus to track an individual’s credit report for alerts and fraud detection. You’ll also be notified of attempted address changes that could redirect mail and packages. Norton’s bundled password manager is a huge help for managing the myriad of online accounts by generating and storing unique and complex passwords for each site, synced across your devices via a browser extension or mobile app. This makes it easy to use long random passwords that we don’t have to remember. Then accessing your password vault is protected by your master password, biometric login, or two-factor authentication. If there is an information breach, we’re shielded from farther reaching impacts since these unique passwords can’t be used anywhere else with other accounts. At its core, Norton 360 is anti-virus software, and it’ll block suspicious downloads or files from unverified sources as well as detect and quarantine any infected files on your device. With regularly scheduled automatic scans and updates, I feel secure knowing that my devices are monitored and protected. My only gripe is with the constant upsell from device performance scans, which always finds “problems” slowing down my computer, but remedying them costs extra.

Strong all in one security wit Identity Protection

I picked Norton 360 Deluxe with LifeLock Select over other antivirus options because it combines device security, identity theft protection, VPN, and scam monitoring in one package. Many competitors focus only on antivirus, but this adds real value with LifeLock and dark web monitoring, which was important to me. I wanted protection not just for malware, but also for identity theft, scams, and online privacy, especially across multiple devices. The 5-device license covers my family laptop and phones easily, and the LifeLock features made it stand out compared to basic antivirus plans. It works smoothly on Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS. The desktop app feels polished, and the mobile apps integrate well with system features like VPN and scam alerts. Everything fits well into daily use without getting in the way. Security quality is excellent. Real-time protection runs quietly in the background with no noticeable slowdown during normal use. Scans are fast, and protection against malware, phishing, and risky websites feels solid. Resource usage is low compared to older versions. Setup was straightforward—activate the code, download, install, and you’re done. Initial scans run automatically. Some upgrade prompts appear, but they can mostly be dismissed or turned off. Pros: Strong antivirus and ransomware protection VPN that turns on automatically on unsafe Wi-Fi Dark web and SSN monitoring through LifeLock Scam protection for email, calls, and texts Cloud backup for important documents For the first-year price, this is a very good value considering how many features are included. Renewal pricing is higher, so it’s best to watch for discounts. Still, compared to buying antivirus, VPN, and identity protection separately, this bundle makes sense. Cons Cloud storage is limited for photos/videos Some LifeLock features are web-based and require sharing personal data Overall, this is a powerful, all-in-one security solution best for users who want more than just antivirus. If you value identity protection, scam alerts, and privacy tools along with strong malware defense, this is a solid choice, especially when purchased on sale.

    Norton Stopped Screaming at Me

Norton 360 was more impressive than I thought. Coming from Windows Defender, and another very light touch suite that starts with an "M", I was a bit apprehensive about coming back to Norton with it's "everything" way of doing things. But I was super surprised because it actually doesn't bog down modern systems anymore because modern systems have way more than enough power for the scanning—and it packs in some genuinely useful features without the clunky interface bloat that I remembered from before. The biggest draw for me is the LifeLock integration, honestly. Having identity theft monitoring, suspicious activity alerts, and dedicated support if something goes wrong gives me real peace of mind beyond just keeping malware off my machine; A safety net that covers the stuff that can screw up your life if it gets compromised. The security piece itself handles antivirus, firewall, and web protection without me noticing it running in the background—and with today's processors, that's actually impressive compared to how resource-heavy security suites used to be with weaker processors. Interface-wise, Norton's look is refreshingly clean compared to the bloated dashboards I expected. It doesn't feel like you need a tutorial just to find what you're looking for. That said, the settings are legitimately overwhelming and deep—but I think that's actually a good thing. Having that many granular options means I can tune things exactly how I want them instead of being locked into some vendor's one-size-fits-all approach. I've disabled most of the popups because they get annoying fast, which is my one real complaint: Norton defaults to notifications for everything, including "scan complete" alerts on external drives. I'd honestly prefer it to work like Windows Defender out of the box—just ping the taskbar icon and let me decide if I want details. The ability to get more granular with notifications if I choose would be perfect, but right now I've just turned most of them off to avoid the noise. The VPN performance actually surprised me—way faster than I expected, which means I can stream without it feeling like I'm pushing through molasses. That's a solid bonus included with the package. Overall, Norton 360 with LifeLock Select does what it promises without getting in the way or draining system resources. The identity protection piece is legit, the interface is actually thoughtful, and the flexibility in settings lets me run it exactly how I want. For anyone wanting solid security plus identity theft coverage that doesn't require constant babysitting, this is a solid recommendation.

Never use a device without Norton protection

I have relied on Norton antivirus for over a decade and, during that time, none of my computers have ever been compromised by any viruses or malware. Unfortunately, I subscribed to Norton after one of my computers had already been infected with a Trojan virus so I had to learn the hard way that investing in a good antivirus program was a necessity. Fortunately for users, Norton is consistently tracking and fighting malware giving users peace of mind they no longer have to worry about hackers wrecking their high priced systems and leaving us with more time for gaming, business, social media, etc. Considering all the bad actors in the world today that are continually attempting to hack into every aspect of our lives from our personal computers, bank accounts, credit cards, log in information, etc. I personally would never risk not making a minor investment in the protection Norton software offers. Norton LifeLock 360, which is included with the Norton 360 Deluxe software, not only protects your devices with antivirus software, it also assists users to track your personal information including emails, phone numbers, addresses, SSNs, credit cards, etc. on the dark web or in the event any of the information you allow Norton to track and notifies you if there is an alert where you may have to change your password, report fraud, close an account, etc. Some other useful features are password management, cloud back up storage, a secure virtual private network (VPN), parental controls, etc. that go even further to protect users from being a victim of a cybercrime. After a quick install and entering my personal information, I allowed Norton to monitor, I had the software run an online check on the dark web for anything that may have been exposed and I was honestly shocked to find out how much was already compromised and available for others to see. It also informed me of data breaches that had already occurred with some companies and recommended I change my passwords on those websites. It’s honestly kind of scary how easily someone can access your information. The software also allows you to enter several different phone numbers, emails, etc. so you’re able to also track your family’s information as well to protect them without having to purchase more software for another account. Running a smart scan cleared my laptop of viruses, my network of any vulnerabilities, and any files that may be damaging to my device to ensure it runs as intended. It can run a deeper clean as well and I personally would recommend investing in their Norton Ultimate software which I also use to go the extra step in keeping your computer cleaned and running up to speed. I have tried other similar products from other companies in the past and, in my opinion, they just don’t compare to everything you will get with Norton software. It’s well worth the minor investment to protect not only your expensive devices but also your personal information which may be exposed for hackers to steal.

So I’ll start by saying that I’m an “older millennial”. I grew up in the 90s, and started using a computer and the internet in high school. I feel like Viruses were “the biggest danger” on the internet at the time. It was basically mandatory to have an antivirus software installed to keep your computer running properly. Now a days most computer software has its own built in safeguards to keep your computer running properly and protect you from malicious people and software. My main computer is a Mac, and Apple is known for having some of the best / most secure software. I however opted to go ahead and use Norton 360 with life lock on my MacBook pro, not because I’m worried about computer viruses but because I wanted an extra safe guard against trackers, data leaks. The biggest threat now a days I feel like are web trackers, data miners. So many websites and apps are constantly tracking your every move on the internet. They then turn and sell your data and info to others. And who knows what else. Anywho, Norton 360 has put together a nice suite to run on Mac OS and has made it pretty much fool proof for installing. I really appreciate having the built in VPN for browsing the internet on my Mac. There is also an antivirus, file cleaner, privacy monitor, identity theft monitor, anti tracker, fire wall and file cleaner. Everything is neatly organized and easy to use. The antivirus can be toggled on and off or be used to scan files before you run them. The VPN can also be toggled on and off and location can be set and changed. I wish you could pick a state when selecting the USA (for navigating through states that have banned certain websites.) I think the service I will appreciate the most from this suite is Life lock. There is so many data leaks, identity theft and trackers happening right now that this will give me additional peace of mind for staying safe on the internet. I think it’s definitely worth having, and Norton has made it incredibly easy to get this running on Mac OS. This is the perfect all in on internet defender. It doesn’t bog down my computer and runs smoothly. You might not think you need this but I promise you it is worth every penny.

The best stays the best. Being a user of Norton products for over 2 decades, they keep hitting it out of the park. Norton 360 with LifeLock for 5 devices keeps them riding high. The Norton 360 product is super easy to install. On a Mac, it takes you through step by step and explains everything as you go and what you are installing. The download took just minutes and I was up and running in under 10 minutes. After installation, Norton went through a few processes to make sure my Mac was running perfect. Included with this is protection for 5 devices. That makes it super versatile. In reality, this is the ultimate package to protect your computer as well as your identity and financial peace of mind. With so many viruses, malware, ransomware, hackers, and adware, Norton 360 protects you from it all. Added to that is LifeLock LifeLock can help you protect your identity, give you social security alerts, and credit alerts. For parents, there is also parental controls. You also get a password manager and a cloud backup. I have not noticed any slowdown on my computer at all! That is key to me. In the end, this is the most comprehensive coverage I have seen. If you are looking to protect your computer or device, this is one of the best options out there. Highly recommended.

I have not been on any anti virus software for a while. After all the rampant selling of private data and the contant fear of malicious programs out there, I figured I'd give this Norton product a try. Install was a good. I am still able to see my near-decade old Norton account associated with my email, and the product I purchased from way back. Setting up the products threw me back a little. I found it a little counter-intuitive for me to make me vulnerable to someone so I can feel protected. This process specifically involves me giving this app my very sensitive information, just so it can guard it. In a digital sense, it is the right idea-- it won't know what to guard, if you don't tell it what to guard. So here goes all my information, other email addresses, birthday, phone number, address, and even social security number. It is scary. I just handed a program super sensitive information that can practically purchase a house in my name. But hey, there have been a lot of data breaches that happened, from big reputable companies and seemingly reliable data pools, but guess what, Norton has none of it. In fact, like I said, it had my almost decade old information from my previous product purchases that I haven't touched in a while and I don't see any breach happened to Norton, knock on wood. Besides, this product has what they call the million dollar coverage insurance which makes sure you are covered, while a member. So yes, I cooperated. I placed each important information I can provide in the required fields. Dark web monitoring, credit monitoring, data scrape tracking, and installed it on my devices that had my bank information too. And you know what, so far, it has been good. Let me give you some bullets on why I think this product deserves a lot of love: 1) In the many product features I had enabled, it did not slow down my daily work. Granted that I have a fast machine, of course I do not want that compromised by any pop ups or any resource hogging my machine. It did not. My PC was working like it did before the install. I can also run scans while I work. Again, no slowdowns. 2) The VPN is fast and easy to connect. Once I open my Norton app, turn on the VPN, and I am connected easily. There are obvious options such as auto connect, or a kill switch for the internet if VPN loses connection, which are great security features. The VPN works like any other VPN—my lakers network access blocks me from from watching my streams when I forget to turn the VPN off—it tells me the VPN is effective. And I don’t notice that it is on, because even the internet is pretty fast. My bedroom wifi clocks at 185Mbps (subscribed at gig internet). An Amsterdam server clocks at 170mbps. A server 1500 miles away, still in the US, clocks at 165Mbps. A Copenhagen server clocks at 100Mbps. So the performance is pretty good, much better than my other third-party VPNs or those that I connect directly to my router. 3) I tried applying for a credit card, night time. The following day, I got a call from Lifelock about someone applying for credit. Then I have email notifications about this. The ID theft protection feature is indeed working and I am informed if someone may have used my credit for something. 4) It also has a cloud backup tool (100gb) and a password manager which may come in handy, versus getting separate password manager tools. 5) It has a software updates feature (which is a PC native application too). After a couple of days of actually seeing the trustworthiness of the app, I know, when it advises me of what application I have that need updating, I trust that it picks up the right one. I know that it is picking up the correct Zoom version or the right Microsoft Visual version. Will it pick up if my third-party apps like GIMP or other more sensitive apps need updating? I have not experienced it. Hopefully it will, and that will save me a lot of time trying to verify if the files I will pick up are malicious. It also has safecam where it safeguards me if my camera is being accessed without my knowledge, but I do get this safety feature from Chrome so, this is more like a plus. 6) Lastly, it has scam protection, like deepfake scans, email/text/call filtering—those that you would mostly see on your flagship phone but your PC does not. There are some apps that are native to PC like managing your startup and cleaning your files. Maybe they will come in handy if you are so used to the Norton interface that you do not want to be involved with your clunky Microsoft device management menus. Also, other probably useful features like the performance and privacy monitor softly sells upgrades if you actually want the boost or the removal of your data without your intervention. For the most part, I am sure, 95% of users will not even know their data is being sold elsewhere and will be in a reactive state if some breach actually affect their finances or what have you. This app gives that added peace-of-mind because it all comes in one package so there is less to worry in most fronts if not all. In a way, it is a very comprehensive tool that you actually probably have separate subscriptions from—VPN, password manager, ID theft protection, cloud space—if you add them all up, you’re probably getting a much better deal on this product. And if you’re more old school than me, especially boomers out there, you just need the virus protection because you don’t now how savvy scammers are now these days. This is a great product for you. I mean, it is so comprehensive, you probably just have to trust and so far, it is pretty reliable for me. Like any other digital product we patronize out there, data breaches may happen and Norton has been very effective so far, plus with their insurance for your data on top of the real benefits you get, I believe this product is worth it.

    Piece of (digital) mind

As a regular user, it’s always very hard to evaluate the performance of an antivirus with so many on the market. Most of the time, whether a virus is detected or not after a scan, you are left wondering if something has been missed. In my case, I see digital threats more as a global risk that requires not just detection, but also the ability to take action. Additionally, when financial information is compromised, the possibility of recovery is crucial. For that reason, by selecting a major brand with many years of experience and all the necessary features included in the software, I am happy to recommend Norton 360 Deluxe. Installation is a process that will not take you more than 5 minutes. It could take up to 10 minutes if you are a first-time user and need to create a new Norton account. In my case, the system recognized an old account that had already expired and reactivated it with the new product key, immediately recognizing the new product activation. I commend Norton for being very respectful with your private financial information. Unlike other companies, Norton does not require you to provide credit card information for automatic renewal 365 days from today. This is a bad practice in other companies that Norton does not copy. In this case, my license covers up to 5 devices, and the installation speed was similar across all five installations done this morning: two laptops, one tablet, one phone, and one gaming tablet. While the product may look a bit different on laptops and mobile devices, activation is quick on all. For all five installations, it is enough to use the web browser, log in to your Norton account, and download the appropriate file (.exe) or app for your device. After installation, running threat detection is the most obvious next step. I like how intuitive the process is, with the interface resembling a self-explanatory dashboard. All scans on the five devices came back with no threats. The longest scan, on the laptop with the largest amount of data, took less than 3 minutes. The scan is divided into three areas: virus detection, security threat detection, and efficiency (called “smart scan” by Norton). I am happy that the first two are included in my product license. For the smart scan, I dislike that the report only lists deficiencies, and resolving them requires a more premium license. It’s important to note that the license includes the most comprehensive set of protections for your digital life. This covers not only your equipment but also your data on the web. Additionally, it’s great how scalable the product is, as some options can be activated or not depending on your personal setup and device type: 1. VPN: For instance, I love the VPN option, but I prefer manual activation for a couple of devices, while it’s fine to have it always on for my mobile device. 2. Cloud Backup: This is included, and you can protect your data by saving it in this virtual storage. 3. Password Manager: Again, a safer alternative to the options provided by some web browsers. 4. Browsing Protection: Here, Norton excels compared to previous versions and other software because navigation speed is no longer slowed down by the antivirus. 5. ID Theft Protection (Lifelock): The addition of ID theft protection and monitoring of your personal data is a game changer for me. I love that the reports can verify where my data is and where some data may have been compromised due to software hacking. The software also allows you to freeze your identity and credit accounts directly. Finally, the license includes identity restoration support and reimbursement coverage. I love that all of this comes with a very user-friendly experience. Two areas stand out: the very low impact on performance, so my daily work is not slowed down by the protection, and the self-maintenance with regular virus definition updates that run behind the scenes. You cannot be completely risk-free, and for that reason, I absolutely love the solution provided by Norton to limit my risks to zero and to cover potential identity risks in this digital world. Highly recommended

There are a lot of choices for security software these days, and the prices can vary dramatically. Are there features that make this the one to choose? Norton 360 Deluxe + Lifelock is a package that includes pretty much everything to secure your devices and more. Besides the well-respected Norton antivirus protection there’s malware protection, scam protection, browser protection, a smart firewall, dark web monitoring, credit monitoring, a password manager, plus VPN security when you want or need it. This bundle covers up to 5 devices, however only one individual can use the Lifelock features without additional cost. Most of us understand the typical security feature of antivirus, malware, and browsing protection, but Lifelock is something beyond that. This service is device independent and is accessed on Norton’s secure website. You provide all your personal info including name, address, SS number, phone, and even your mother’s maiden name since that’s a challenge question on many accounts. You can then have it monitor up to 10 bank accounts, 10 credit cards, insurance policies, your passport, and credit services. It includes up to $25K reimbursement for stolen funds, person expense compensation, and stolen wallet. There’s a $1 million cap on coverage for lawyers and experts. It can also assist you in placing a freeze on the major credit reporting agencies. This is to prevent unauthorized credit cards or loans in your name. It links you to their sites, but you must do the freeze. The Lifelock system will notify you if something unusual takes place in any of the accounts mentioned. The Password Manager ties to you browsers and requires you to load an extension to use it. You can import you existing passwords from the browser, but you do need some computer savvy to download a password list and upload it to Norton. However, it does give step by step instructions for major browser applications. I found it interesting that the manager is propagated to your browsers on other devices even if they do not have Norton software installed. You are given the choice of accepting it. There’s little reason to discuss the antivirus and malware parts. Norton is among the best known and highest rated in these categories. It’s a rock-solid product. Their interface and installation process have improved, and it does not appear to be as resource-intensive as previous versions. The VPN is a newer offering and has been improving quickly. It appears reliable, but it lacks the level of control and the number of servers that some of the well-known competitors offer. For the average user wanting protection, it’s more than enough. There’s a lot bundled in this package, and it’s a solid choice. The introductory price is very reasonable, but the renewal is substantially higher. That is pretty much true with lots of software these days. It does everything most can imagine, and Norton is a leader in the field.

I have mostly become skeptical of antivirus software, the basic inbuilt protection on Windows and Mac was 'enough'. But now it's more than viruses you need to worry about. SMS scams, emails, data breaches, retailers being hacked - the world is just more complicated. Norton 360 is the only thing that is an out-of-the-box solution for everything you need. - antivirus - lifelock identify theft protection - email scam protection - privacy monitor - VPN - cloud backup - password manager - parental controls (probably the only fearture I don't need) Antitracking isn't included, it's a pricy upsell. Which is a shame and really should be included given all the othe privacy features, like the privacy monitor. Norton utilities is not included, but there's a free 60 day trial available and upgrade. Setup is easy. You do have to setup a Norton account. Norton doesn't prompt you to setup Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) during setup, but you really should do it given you're connecting accounts and sharing so much personal data. Installation was easy, no registration keys in the app, it just auto installs. Nice. It was also not heavy on my OS, running this on Windows 11 and it didn't add lag or impact performance. So much improved on older versions of Norton. What I really love about Norton 360 is that it also now has a web console you can login to from any device. So if you need to check security settings for a family member (I installed a copy on my elderly parents PC) I can check they haven't disabled it. Cool. What's great - super easy setup, like fast and incredibly easy - everything you need if you're getting started in online security - lightweight, easy to install and manage - very friendly user interface - great solution for the less technical members of your family - great web console to manage all the other features (lifelock, privacy, etc) What could be better - should require MFA during setup by default, make sure you do - the online backup is not generous, 100Gb when my phone has more storage! - wish it came with 2 Lifelock licenses or easy way to add more - antitracking really should be included - the 'upsells' other features almost caught me, but easy to ignore Overall, I think Norton 360 is great. If you're a hardcore tech geek, you probably feel you don't need it or have preferred specialist programs just for one feature. But as a turnkey all in one solution, Norton 360 is very thorough. If they upgraded the amount of data in cloud backup and added an extra Lifelock license (one for you, one for your partner) it would be perfect.

What's great: -Easy sign up process for LifeLock and seamless access to Norton360 Software -Powerful dark web search/monitoring -Insights that give you actionable things to fix or monitor -Easy access to services to lock your credit and identity down in one place -Doesn't slow down your device What could be better: -Allow the VPN to work on more devices -Wish it had more protection against ads and tracking I think the one thing I like best about this suite of services is the dark web monitoring. My best advice is, don't wait until you've had your identity compromised to act, be proactive about it and I can say Norton's LifeLock definitely does that. It wasn't until I set this up that I realized my information was part of a data breach (along with millions of others of course the Public Data Breach that occured in 2024), and not only did it make me aware of it, I could see what was compromised in the breach. If you think your SSN isn't out there, I'd say think again, and Norton LifeLock alerted me to that and helped me lock down my identity to prevent fraud and I feel confident if something were to happen the protection this offers will help. While it is a pain to unlock reports, it's totally worth the minor inconvenience that causes vs. the potential for fraud using your identity. As for Norton360 the software is great, unobtrusive and works quietly in the background keeping your devices (and your information) secure/protected. I used to be one of those that say Windows Defender is good enough, and while it is good and better than having nothing, having a good security software package like Norton360 is becoming essential if you do anything online. It's not just about Virus's anymore, it's about a full suite of services to protect your device, and your identity and Norton does that pretty good. There are some things I wish could be better, like the ability to use the VPN on more devices and have ad/tracking protection like other VPNs like Proton VPN do, and there are good browsers that do this. So I think that's the one area Norton could take this next level and really offer a comprehensive suite of privacy protection tools. This package offers a great value of services and as such I'd recommend it. The identity projection and monitoring is good and blended with the software it is overall pretty good.

I want to start by saying that I really do appreciate the features offered by this product. It does seem like a solid bang for the buck. However, I really dislike anytime a product feels like a perpetual upsell. Pros: VPN - While this is my first time using any personal VPN product, I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. I see no noticeable decrease in performance and the features within the VPN are great. Multiple devices - I think that, for the price, it is nice to be able to cover a number of devices - especially with parental control. ID theft/ deep web scan - Having a deep web scan on my information was great to suggest which passwords might be compromised. I am not sure if I will renew or not, but at least the one time check was nice. Cons: Upsell/ Autorenew - If you buy this product I recommend being very well versed in the features included. While exploring all the features in the apps I have been met with several instances of unexpected upsells. Run a scan for your personal information to see all the data brokers that have it? Great! Want to get it removed? Well you have to create accounts on each of the individual brokers sites and request it...OR we can do it all for you for an additional fee. Scan your computer for threats? Great. Would you like to fix these performance issues? Yes? OK here's the fee. All of this is fine, but presented in a shady way that doesn't reveal the upsell until the very end. Icky feeling. Autorenewing subscriptions give me the same feeling. Ultimately I do think this is a quality product and performs as advertised. Just keep your guard up and pay attention or you can easily run up additional charges.

Great Security Solution for All Devices

I’ve tried a bunch of computer security programs over the years, and they all seem to do pretty much the same thing. It used to be that the one that didn’t use up your system the most was the best. Back then, these programs would really slow down your computer to keep running in the background, but that’s not the case anymore. Norton’s 360 solution with LifeLock is a really good all-in-one program. It keeps all your devices safe and sound. I’ve got it running on my MacBook, a couple of Windows laptops, and a couple of iPhones. The software keeps patching security holes in all of them. Setting up the suite is a breeze, and once it’s installed, it walks you through what it can protect on each device. It’s super easy to make sure your email, web searches, and apps stay protected. The same goes for the iOS devices. When you install it on your phone, it protects your messages, SPAM calls, email, and web searches. The included VPN is also great and works in every situation I’ve used it in so far. After setting it up and installing it properly, I can say that everything is great, except for one small thing. The LifeLock feature is great, and you can see when your personal information is out on the web. It even gives you instructions on how to get it deleted, but if you want them to get it wiped, you’ll have to pay an extra fee. This is my only little complaint. I wish it didn’t feel like they were trying to sell you more services, and instead just included everything in the suite. Other than that, it’s great. If you’re looking for a complete security solution for all your devices, whether that’s computers or mobile devices, this might be the one for you. The inclusion of the personal info monitoring with LifeLock is also a great bonus to see what might have been leaked.

Before I say anything else - I would use anything Norton or Symantec branded over anything McAfee any day of the week. I've been running this suite in a singular gaming laptop for a week or so now just to get a feel for it. Running various benchmarks with the Auto-protect enabled and disabled to see what kind of performance impact the suite would have on everyday operations, I can say the results were mixed. In some tests there was not much (if any variation) in the results, others there was upwards of 33% performance hit by leaving the auto-protect enabled. That having been said, in everyday use (productivity, web surfing) I honestly couldn't feel any difference in speeds regardless whether the protection was enabled/not enabled. On top of the antivirus/antimalware component, it includes LifeLock. Not a fault of the application - I simply couldn't bring myself to use it. Yes, it's designed to help you lock down your digital footprint on the web and help keep your data from being sold as well as help you secure your credit. My personal paranoia could not allow me to use LifeLock as I didn't want to give yet another company my personal information , ultimately introducing one other "point of failure" to potentially leak or get hacked allowing my info to make it out onto the web even more than it already is. I honestly feel this is a 5 star application suite - it's my personal reservations and paranoia that kept me from testing all the features. Norton - you still have my thumbs up over the competition!

Thank you for sharing such a detailed and honest review! Your perspective on performance testing is really helpful for others who might be concerned about the impact of security software on gaming or high-performance tasks. It’s great to hear that everyday use felt smooth and unaffected, even with Auto-Protect enabled.
We completely understand your caution regarding LifeLock—privacy is personal, and your reasoning makes sense. The fact that you still rate Norton 360 Deluxe as a 5-star suite speaks volumes about its core protection and reliability. Your trust in Norton over the competition is something we truly appreciate, and your feedback will help others make informed decisions.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience and for giving Norton your thumbs up! norton_us
