Disappointing power for smoothies

I needed something for smoothies, so went with the smaller, popular option. This blender is so frustrating. It has trouble blending even frozen fruit like a frozen banana or strawberries. I end up blending for about three minutes to get a good blend.

Small and compact-however LOUD

Its is the blender I have owned where hearing protection is necessary. It does not blend frozen fruit very well or at least to a grainy finished state. The design, build and size are nice plus the option for varied blending is helpful along with the 2 very nice blend cups however it is just plain LOUD-really LOUD. I do own the full size Ninja blender which is very nice and we wore out the cup size option which is why we bought this one but I would send it back if I could.
