Powerful GPU at a very high price

The Nvidia 4080 founders edition is one of the nicest and most powerful pieces of gaming hardware I’ve ever owned. Compared to AMD’s offerings the Nvidia features blow it out of the water, hopefully with RDNA4 next gen we’ll see them even the odds. Performance is not the issue and won’t be for most, it’s the price. Even while being floored by its performance there wasn’t a moment in the back of my mind that I asked, “is it worth the price.” The 4080 is nearly double the cost of its predecessor with around 50% boost in performance. While this is a pretty massive improvement, but the 4090’s price is so close that most will opt to just make the jump. The chip shortage, mining and scalpers have broken the GPU market and Nvidia are quick to take advantage of the change and just charge what they want, because for the last few years we paid what was asked. The 4080 was almost flawless, but just a hard pill to swallow at this price.

Best upgrade so far for my a PC build

Very satisfied with this GPU. Yes it is pretty expensive and if you have the money obviously might as well just get the 4090 but I could barely afford this as is. So going for the 40 90 just wasn't realistic for me. But with that being said, I get really good performance on this card and I run everything at 4k max settings. I'm very satisfied and I haven't had any issues with VRAM or anything so far. Very happy with this purchase and I absolutely love the founders edition models

I bought this in November since I could not get a 4090 at the time and needed it for work had to get a 4080 (this was hard to get before Christmas. The PC is not used for gaming, but strictly for Architectural work and renderings. While the 4080 may not be the best value for gamers, for productivity work it may just be one of the better cards out there. First some Productivity software's out there just doesn't play well with AMD drivers. Nvidia Studio Drivers nicely works nicely with Architectual software's. 4080 also doesn't require as much power and doesn't run hot. And it's cheaper than the professional cards such as A4500 and A5000! TwinMotion (3d design) is a big software being used on this computer and utilizes 100% GPU power. The good news is that TwinMotion does not use over 16GB of VRAM with the work being done, so the 4080 is perfect! Now if you want to take advantage of TwinMotion PathTracing the 4080 does a good job, but the 4090 would be a better choice for the faster Ray Tracing performance. For Productivity, totally worth it if you won't be using over 16GB of VRAM. Could use the savings from the 4090 on a faster CPU even.

I loving it, definetly one of the best cards out there, i did not wanted to soend almost 2k for a 4090 , 4080 can handle almost every game at 4k max settings ocer 70fps for open world games, for first person games i havent seen one under 100fps, temperatures are great and i love the founders edition design over any aftermarket brand

This gpu does everything I need it to. It is expensive but compared to what is going on with the market atm, it is literally the best option if you are looking to upgrade now. The other cards are going for well above msrp and that makes this card oddly enough the best value. Again though this is probably the best deal if you are looking to buy right now. Else, wait and see. One more thing to note. If you have the older Cooler Master Haf series cases the 4080 fits with no issues at all even with a side fan installed. Also, I highly recommend getting an atx 3.0 supply. A good cheaper one is the Silverstone Hela 850R.

Upgraded from a EVGA 3070Ti to this FE 4080 and the performance jump is substantial. I probably could have supported a 4090 with my current power supply but I like that this one draws less power and the price/performance ratio is quite solid. Great purchase so far just be sure you have three PSU cables to power it using the provided adapter and ensure it fits your case!

Absolutely incredible GPU!! Temperatures are always in the 50s performance is absolutely amazing. Great price for a great GPU. I know people complain that it’s too expensive but it’s not. It’s actually an incredible GPU for such a great price worth every dollar. I game at 1440p 240 Hz and it maxes out my monitor. No complaints about the GPU. So glad I upgraded.

Solid 1440p gaming card. Runs Cyberpunk 2077 on the 1.61 DLSS 3 update like a dream at an average of about 144 fps. All I ever wanted. Upgraded from an RTX 2080 and it runs about 20 degrees cooler (previously the RTX 2080 would run at about 75-80 degrees under load). Some slight coil whine, but ANC headphones take care of that. Doesn't exceed 60 degrees under heavy load/99% usage.

This card is amazing! I ended up buying the 4090 FE and giving this one to my son due to a gaming hardware addiction that I have. LOL Seriously, though.. this card easily handles any game my son plays on ultra settings paired with his Ryzen 7 5800x3d CPU. Runs SUPER cool.. never gets hot AT ALL.

    Great 4k Card But Pricey

Card is huge!!! I “side-graded” from a 3080ti fe and oh man is this card fast. The uplift is anywhere between 30-35% in raw rasterized performance which isn’t much. But add in the new RTX 3rd gen architecture and DLSS 3.0 and you got yourself a great card for the price. Yes, it should have been 200-300$ cheaper. I agree. But, if you have the money and don’t mind paying, the 4080 is pretty much always in stock now. If you can get a 4090, however, I’d go with that. The temps never go over 55 degrees under full load with my case cover off. Put the cover on and the highest I saw was 58 degrees. This is at 4k 120 fps on a LG CX. It’s really big so make sure you have room in your case. The 4080 Founder Edition is Great card and arguably the more aesthetically pleasing of all the variants.

Card is excellent at everything that I require, whether it’s gaming or editing. It’s also very quiet at idle and runs very cold. Two years later this card still holds its own and I’m still happy with my decision. Also, the Founders Edition aesthetically is beautiful to look at as well! Highly recommend it.

Insane card, have it paired with an i9-11900k and it absolutely shreds any games I play, easily could play 4k at over 120 frames.. the price is a bit high, which doesn’t really line up with more budget oriented PC builders, it’s definitely more of an enthusiast card

I really like this card alot. I didnt really need to upgrade my card coming from a 3070ti, but i wanted something that ran much cooler. I would definitely reccomend this card if the price can come down to a fair cost. This isnt a 90 series card, the price shouldnt be anywhere near what it is.

This GPU paired with an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, I've been averaging well over 100 FPS on Arma 3. I haven't tried Apex Legends yet, but I'm sure with this setup I could comfortably play at 240 frames with 2K resolution.

RTX 4080 Small Form Factor Review

Everyone who is buying this card knows the price is not the best so I will be focusing on the other aspects of the product and rating it based off of them. Raytracing performance is amazing especially in titles like metro exodus in 1440p still offers a high FPS experience while maxed out which is an amazing experience. There is also no doubt that the cooler is a bit overkill but it is a positive aspect since it stays cool and queit other than coil whine. My build is also small form factor and this cooler design is the most compact of the 4000 series so it fits perfectly. Other pros is the good overclocking performance and power draw, even with extra power limit I did not see over 340 watts while hitting 2.9Ghz. Havent tried DLSS 3 but overall if you want a card to last you years this seams to be a great option.

The price is not great but the performance is. I upgraded from a 3080ti and I don’t regret it. I mainly game at 1440p and this is overkill for that but I’m getting way more utilization out my 240hz monitor than with the 3080ti.

The performance is 5 stars without a doubt, the 40 series is not only good for games but if you do any rendering especially in 3D programs this card won’t disappoint you. The reason I give it 4 stars however is just due to the prices NVIDIA is putting on these cards. If each of the founder editions were even $100 cheaper they’d be more worth the price. If you haven’t upgraded in a while and can afford it, this is a great card.
