This is one of the best-looking graphics cards around, and it has the performance to match. With the help of DLSS, I can run practically all games at high settings, and they look phenomenal on my 4K TV. I love the RTX 5080's compact two-slot size, which made it a breeze to install. The lit-up GeForce logo and top cross add some flair, but it would've been nice if their color and/or brightness could be controlled. The card's dual flow-through fans do a great job of keeping the GPU cool. I hardly notice it running, even during the most intense games, and my computer's other fans often end up being louder. All in all, I'm happy with the RTX 5080 in my gaming PC. It does everything I need without completely breaking the bank or consuming excessive amounts of power.

This card is incredible, but it's a shame we've gotten to the point where people feel lucky to even purchase a $1,000 graphics card. With OC, I was able to get within 11% of the 4090 FE performance, but for 37% less money and WAY less power draw. The OC potential on 5080's across the board is something to behold, we haven't had a card OC this well in awhile, granted it's not going to give you a 20% leap, near 13-14% is still splendid. People are mad that this 80 series card is the weakest that Nvidia ever released, but Nvidia is on a warpath for stock prices unfortunately, so setting aside the beyond underwhelming performance leap, this is still one of the best performance/dollar cost cards available. This card is a monster, it easily runs Marvel Rivals at 290 frames when no frame gen at 2k resolution and CS2 gets well over 550 fps in almost any circumstance. If you love playing competitive games and also want to dominate every single-player game you throw at it in 2k resolution, you will be very happy. Is the 4090 and 5090 still better? By far, that's no question, but think about how much power and money those both cost. If it's hard to buy a 5080, it's 10x more difficult to find an available 4090 or even 5090. If you can buy this card at MSRP, I think it's a solid buy. I upgraded from my RTX 3070 and couldn't be happier. I'll be sticking with this card for at least 5-6 years.

I upgraded from an Intel Arc B580 Founders Edition to the RTX 5080 FE — and while both cards look great and serve different needs, the performance jump is incredible. The B580 was honestly impressive for $249 — it handled 1440p with upscaling well, and its design felt sleek and clean. But the 5080 FE, paired with a Ryzen 9800X3D and 6000 MT/s CL30 memory, unlocked a whole new tier. Overclocked (+390 MHz core, +3000 MHz memory), the card stays whisper quiet and holds 60–62°C under full load. Power draw peaks around 320W with path tracing. It fit perfectly in my Lian Li 207 with no sag — the FE frame is rock-solid. Through tempered glass, it looks like a piece of industrial art. Performance is nothing short of insane: • Cyberpunk 2077 (RT + DLSS + Frame Gen): up to 260 fps • Resident Evil 4 Remake: 160–180 fps • Kingdom Come: 180–200 fps • Half-Life 2 RTX: 220–240 fps DLSS is next-level: nearly indistinguishable from native, yet boosts fps massively. Frame Generation? Underrated. It delivers smoother gameplay than native 70–80 fps and can be tuned (2x, 3x) for your own preference. It’s not a gimmick — it’s transformative. I’m not a die-hard NVIDIA fan. But let’s be honest: everyone wants a cheap NVIDIA card with enough VRAM. That’s the main complaint, not the technology itself. NVIDIA sets the pace — AMD and Intel are still catching up. Minor coil whine at first, gone after a few days. 16GB VRAM might feel limiting for future 4K, but it’s perfect for 1440p with RT now. Add in DLSS, Frame Gen, and silent cooling — and at $999, this is simply the best GPU you can buy today.

WOW THIS CARD IS AMAZING! Not only is this card very powerful, it is also 2-slot card! The potential for overclocking is amazing on the card as well, for me undervolting its stays under 60 °C with no coil wine and not much power use

The RTX 5080 Founders Edition is an absolute powerhouse for 4K and high-refresh-rate gaming. It crushes every modern title I throw at it, with ray tracing and DLSS delivering stunning visuals and smooth performance. The sleek, premium design and improved cooling system are exactly what you’d expect from NVIDIA. My only wish that it utilized an EVEN BIGGER cooling system to really get down those temps for higher clock speeds. At current I run at about 62C at 100% load with the default fan curve. Games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Ops 6 run flawlessly, even maxed out. My only gripe? I wish it had more VRAM. While it handles current games well, a bit more would help future-proof it for upcoming AAA titles and large modded textures. Overall, this is one of the best GPUs out there—blazing fast, beautifully built, and nearly perfect. If you can get it for 1000$ I’d say it’s worth it considering the price of the previous generation. I would have really liked there to be 24gb of vram or even 20. Would have made the card the perfect buy.

The sleek look of this founders edition card looks amazing. This card can easily handle any game at 1440p, consistently delivering smooth frame rates in every game I’ve tried. The convenience of being able to overclock your card in the nvidia app is also a wonderful addition. The auto-HDR and super resolution are wonderful for veiwing older or lower quality content. I rarely see temps above 60c and they’re never sustained. For reference, the only time I’ve ever had any stutters in gameplay, my CPU is at 100% utilization. I have an i9-10900k, so its an older chip but a powerful one that i have overclocked. Despite how powerful this CPU is, it’s the bottleneck when you pair it with an RTX 5080

I had the ASUS TUF 5080 but swapped it for the Founders Edition while still in the return window as shown in the photos — no regrets. The FE runs about 5°C hotter, but it’s worth it at MSRP. It looks clean, overclocks well (+375 core / +500 memory), and gave me around a 10–15% performance boost in games. Iconic design, great build, and solid all-around.

Coming from a 3080 (and before that a 1080ti), the 5080 doesn’t feel like much of an upgrade. While I think the Founders Edition is one of the nicest looking cards of this generation and at MSRP appears to be the best value of the 5080 models, the 5080 is not a good value next to cards like the 5070ti or last gen offerings. Compounding that, the drivers for 50 series have been the worse I’ve seen over the past decade. You have to roll back to older drivers to play game A, then update to play game B, and game C crashes occasionally no matter what version you’re on. Despite all of that, when the drivers cooperate the 5080 is a great card. Temps are good, its quiet, you can get great performance with less power if undervolting is your thing, and if not the 50 series overclocks really nicely. Overall, if you have the cash go for it, but if I did it all again I’d either go for a 5070ti or 5090.

Excellent gpu, ok price given the state of gpu market. The 5080 is a great overclocker easily able to add +400 to the core clock and over +2000 to the memory clock. The performance is great, getting fairly close to the performance of last generations 4090 (-10 to -15% of the 4090 on average) While it’s unusual for Nvidia to release a card that is less performant than last gen’s best, it’s just where we’re at in the current gpu space. If you can get the card for MSRP I do recommend the 5080 anything more and I’d say hold out if you can or look towards the AMD 9070XT.

Upgrade from RTX 3080 FE to RTX 5080 FE brings significant performance improvements: 60-70% higher FPS in multiple games. Stalker 2 is now playable in 2K and card is not hot, around 55-60C with full load. Overall very good looking GPU and it has all 112 ROPs. Few issues I've experienced: NZXT CAM application doesn't show fan speed, FS2020 crashed with latest Nvidia drivers when using DirectX 11, DirectX 12 works fine. Price was MSRP so no complains here but availability could be better. Pretty happy being able just buy one.

The only 5080 worth getting with these high prices. The gou performs and excellent with temperatures in the mid to high 50s always so cooling is great on it. Always am able to play at max settings with high fps. Dont regret this buy at all

Best card for the money if you can secure one for MSRP. While generational uplift is small if you are coming from a 30 series the difference is night and day. From a 3060ti to this is mind blowing. Only flaw it has is the low vram. SFF sizing is amazing too.

Runs great and cool, no issues at all. Wanted to max out my 1440 gaming experience and this does that without over msrp pricing.

Coming from a 3070 the 5080 is a monstrous upgrade. Double the vram and more than double the raw performance. Very lucky to have been able to purchase one and thank you, Best Buy, two days later it arrived on my doorstep. Runs cooler and quieter than my old 3070 despite the higher power draw and physically is about the same shape with the two-slot design. It really should have come with more vram because when I'm running Cyber Punk or Hogwarts at 4k with max raytracing I'm using over 14gb of vram. Yikes! Doesn't bode well for maximizing future games in the next few years. Oh well. For that reason, I say this card is absolutely worth it at $999 USD. Anything over that and it's just hard to justify. Hopefully Nvidia gets the stock boosted soon and 9070 xt from AMD provides some healthy competition so we can collectively end this period of scalper insanity.

This card is an improvement to my 4070S I had before. Not just the small hardware upgrade, but the extra VRAM help me push solid FPS numbers. I mostly play racing sims and on max settings I'm now in the solid 160+ FPS. The new Doom game is playing at over 200 FPS on ultra nightmare settings. I'm really enjoying it and especially that it was at msrp at Bestbuy.

I was one of the lucky ones online to "Beat the Bots" on Roll Out day. With that said, on my first computer build of my life, I put a great deal of emphasis on all other components except my graphics card in 2022. I was able to get a Founders Edition 4070 from Best Buy for $500. So, I'm no expert, but for the novice, the 5080 has a considerable notice of quality and simple beauty for the games I play. After watching all the "PHD Master IT Technicians" bash the 50 series launch and disputing the numbers from the company. I noticed none of them answered the most important question that was never asked " How did the game look with your own eyes? Yes Data matters but I would rather my personal interaction judge before numbers influence my perception. Bottom line, be patient for Best Buy to keep making drops. It will happen. For this 59 year old Gamer, Work It. For the record, I play the following games: Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Assetto Corsa Evo, Le Mans Ultimate, and F1 24. All sim racing games with a complete Fanatec Setup.
