If Nvidia waited for manufacturing to be able to mass produce chips with sub-4nm nodes. They’d still be selling 40 series cards for the next 2-4 years. Given that, we cant expect 30-40% increases. But a 20% over the 4080 Super when OCing, at the same cost as a 4080 super is a deal. My card arrived Wednesday, but im out of town. Heading home tomorrow to slap it in my PC and run benchmarks!

    Good for 4k gaming

Let me preface this by saying my use case is mostly gaming at 4k. Haven’t had any issues with this card since getting it, I would recommend doing a clean install of the nvidia drivers if you are upgrading. Other than that it’s been rock solid with good temps. Now if you aren’t playing the newest games using dlss and frame gen there are definitely better options but with the way things are going these days getting a card that can make the most of those settings might be the only way to get smooth frame rates.

    Great GPU, BUT...

It's a pretty fantastic GPU all things considered. It's perfect for 1440p gaming with plenty of power to spare to play any current game on my computer. I also really like how it can easily be undervolted while still having the same amount of performance at stock voltage. Really helps keeps things temps low. However, I can't in good conscious give this a 4 or 5-star because of how poorly NVIDIA handled things with the 50-series in general. 1. The small amount of GPUs in stock, which many scalpers and bots can easily take advantage of. So it's already extremely difficult to get a 50-series GPU properly, especially a Founders Edition model. 2. Still using the terrible 12VHPWR connector designs that still have problems right now. 3. The very high price for so little gen on gen improvements and gains. (The 5080 is barely any faster than a 4080/S outside of multi-frame generation). It also doesn't help that it's extremely difficult to get a 50-series GPU at MSRP price at this time. 4. Their latest driver updates (as of the time of this review being posted) have been very rough with issues and bugs that are affecting lots of users. 5. Quietly removing legacy 32-bit PhysX support without any backup (like a translation layer to use 64-bit). So some games, like Borderlands 2 or Mirror's Edge, don't run very well at all with PhysX 32-bit enabled. When a few of these issues have been addressed (like the drivers and 32-bit PhysX being properly worked with), I may bump it up to 4-stars. But for now, that's my rating for this GPU (and the RTX 50-series as a whole).

Great GPU, Not Great Consumer Treatment by Nvidia

Runs super fast and looks great. Only downside is availability. Nvidia has the capacity to meet consumer demand, but chose the greedy route of controlled scarcity.

I’m so glad I didn’t try reselling this thing. As soon as I got it, I was like I’m keeping it and I’m glad I did. My games look amazing now. I don’t think it’s worth getting partner cards. This card runs super cool performers, gray, and over clocks like a beast no need to spend more on the partner cards.

This remains the best value, and also, the best looking card this update cycle. Reference cards can be a question mark each year but NVIDIA applied some design improvements this time around with a "Double Flow Through" design. Card runs quiet and cool. There's lighting on the X on top of the card and the GeFORCE RTX lettering at the front. Driver performance has been pretty good post launch. The latest gimmick is Multi Frame Generation; say what you will about it, but it is fun to experiment with. The card fits inside my H6 Flow beautifully. The card does come with a 12VHPWR adapter. I recommend buying PSUs with ATX 3.1 standard for the longer pins.

Super confused by the reviews about all that aside. This thing pumps everything I throw at it, never owned one. This good before just the box itself with the video card is heavier than any gaming laptop. I've ever owned, and this thing is a beast

    Great card at MSRP

The RTX 5080 Founders Edition is an excellent card, though I do wish it came with more VRAM. That said, I knew the specs going in and still feel it was the right choice. Some argue that the 5070 Ti offers better value, but in my opinion, a 5080 at MSRP is the smarter buy. One of the biggest advantages is overclocking potential—the 5080 has plenty of headroom and can push surprisingly close to 4090-level performance. It also comes with two decoders compared to just one on the 5070 Ti, which makes a difference for certain workloads. At MSRP, it’s absolutely worth it; above MSRP, not so much. Another factor is resale value. FE cards historically hold their value better, making upgrades down the line easier. Paying hundreds over MSRP for a third-party AIB card won’t matter to buyers later, but a well-kept FE card will always draw interest. I used to stick with EVGA out of brand loyalty, but since they’ve exited the GPU space, I’ve gone back to Nvidia’s own FE cards—and this one doesn’t disappoint.

I was looking everywhere to get the 5090 for MSRP. It felt impossible. However, when I was able to get my hands on the 5080FE I wasred no time. And it hasn’t disappointed me in the slightest. I’ve had the card for a month or so now and the performance is incredible. I’ve been able to run games at their best settings, something that my 3070Ti was always failing to do. I couldn’t be happier with the 5080FE. Although, I still feel like the prices for these graphics cards are very saturated

    Too Hot for ITX Cases

Great card but produces a lot of heat for an ITX case. Handles all games well including Cyberpunk 2077. Hard to beat the MSRP given the alternatives. PNY is the better option at MSRP since the cooling is so much better. Since I have an ITX case, ASUS Prime has been the best option for SFF. Got tired of having a big case and wanted something easier to move, clean, etc. Simplify...

I was lucky enough to snag this on launch day for msrp. I know there is alot of contriversy with this card not being a big leap over its last series. But my question i had was is it worth it coming from and EVGA FTW3 3080 10GB to this. Let me tell you it absolutly is. I was getting low frame rates and random crashing in even Diablo 4. Now that ive upgraded to this i get 70-120 frames in 4k max settings and ray tracing with no frame gen. There is also apparently a pretty large headroom for overclocking this card to be on par with the RTX 4090. I didnt go that crazy with it but i did use the Nvidia app to scan and do an auto OC. Its given me several more frames on average. Overall absolutly happy with this purchase.

Truly a beast, love having a powerhouse gpu to enable 4K gaming. DLSS has come a long way, allowing high fidelity even at performance or ultra performance settings. And frame gen might be a bit of a gimmick, but honestly I can crank it up to X3 or X4 in games like Cyberpunk and Borderlands 4 with minimal artifacting. Oh, and I got Borderlands 4 as a pack-in, which is pretty fun because I was thinking of picking it up anyway. Obviously the price is obnoxious, but if you can afford this, it's a great card and good value compared to the 4090 and 5090.

So it’s a graphics and if you’re reading this you already know all the details and capabilities of this card. You may not be aware of how easy it is to install and how helpful BesrBuy is at taking care of that for you. Their total tech membership (sold separately) took care of the labor of installing it, updating drivers, making sure everything works as it should. You already know what the 5080 is capable of - it’s a bit expensive but if it’s something your passionate about, it’s 100% worth it.
