5090 is simply overpowered. It will eat anything you throw at it. Nvidia is a beast for this one!

Thank you BBY for actually letting me get one!!! This is a great card, really surprised how small it was compared to previous versions. Great card build a Whole new Ultra 9 computer around it(I know, i'm just hoping Intel gets it right by the end of the Socket) and it's amazing i'm sure i'm limiting myself today with having the intel but Card is amazing.

Excellent card Does absolutely anything anyone could want out of a graphics card. I was a bit suprised at first with the noisy coil whine but I got over it.

NVIDIA RTX 5090 Review: The King of Overkill

Ah, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090—a graphics card so powerful it practically sneers at your puny 4K monitor and mocks your power supply. Priced at a mere $1,999 (because who needs rent money anyway?), this monstrosity isn’t just a GPU—it’s a statement. And that statement is: "I have more money than sense."

Got this at MSRP, and is great. Runs on the higher end of temps but at under 3 slots you're going to sacrifice cooling.

Coming from an ASUS ROG STRIX 4090 OC I got a 48% increase in score on Steel Nomad. Paired with a 9800X3D and Alienware - AW3225QF there is nothing that can touch the FPS I'm getting now. It's so tiny.

With the riding cost of all goods including GPUs, the price to performance isn't quite there if you already own a 40-series card. Add the potential fire risk due to the 12vhpwr connector and it really doesn't make sense. Skip this gen

I finally pulled the trigger on the RTX 5090, and after a week of gaming, testing, and tinkering, here’s my honest take. First off—the card is small. The power draw is no joke either—my PSU was already beefy, but under load you can hear the fans ramp and feel the heat pouring out. It’s definitely not for a small build or a modest setup. That said, once I fired it up… wow. Games that were pushing my old 4090 to its limits now feel effortless. In 4K ultra, titles like Cyberpunk 2077 with full ray tracing and path tracing run smoother than I ever thought possible. The new DLSS 4 frame generation is kind of mind-blowing too—FPS basically doubles in supported games, and the AI interpolation is way cleaner than I expected. Outside of gaming, I tested some rendering and AI workloads, and the 32 GB of VRAM really shines. Big Blender scenes and AI models that used to chug now just eat up the memory and power through. For content creators or anyone dabbling in AI projects, that extra headroom is a game changer. But here’s the catch—it’s overkill for most people. It cost me around two grand, and unless you’re gaming in 4K+ or doing serious creative/AI work, you’ll never push this card anywhere near its limits. It’s also hot and power-hungry, so be ready with strong cooling and a beefy PSU. Would I recommend it? If you want the absolute best and don’t mind paying for it, yes—this thing is a monster. But if you’re just gaming at 1440p or even 4K without caring about max FPS, a 4080 or even 4070 Ti will save you a lot of money while still giving a fantastic experience. For me though, I love having the headroom. It feels like I future-proofed my rig for years, and right now, nothing else even comes close.

Upgraded to the RTX 5090 and it’s been a game-changer. Every game I throw at it runs flawlessly at 4K ultra settings with crazy high frame rates. Temps stay cool thanks to the improved cooling design, and it's surprisingly quiet under load. Perfect for both gaming and creative work like 3D rendering and video editing. Pricey, but you’re paying for top-tier performance that’ll stay relevant for years. If you want the best of the best, this is it.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition is an absolute powerhouse, and Best Buy made it possible for me to finally own one! As a Total Tech Member, I had priority access and alerts that gave me the edge in securing this hard-to-find card. The build is stunning—premium materials, flawless engineering, and whisper-quiet cooling even under intense gaming or rendering sessions. Performance is unmatched, pushing 4K max settings with ease, ray tracing that feels lifelike, and DLSS 4 that’s pure magic. Best Buy’s team guided me through the purchase process, answered my questions, and ensured my order arrived safely and fast. For both gamers and creators, this GPU is a dream come true—and Best Buy made that dream a reality.

    Big jump from RTX 3090

Gaming on my RTX 3090 has been okay to abysmal on both 1440p (on monitor) and 4k (OLED TV with HDMI 2.1). With massive boost in performance from this extremely limited and hard to get (at the time of this review) video card as this, I’m very happy I waited out long enough and race to get one for myself. Streaming for my friends privately has also been very pleasant since the latest NVENC stuff has been generous when streaming and recording stuff. VRAM is very wild to me too, so I’m hoping I can try and see if I can push its limits, especially with my newly upgraded power supply for the unique PCIE 5.0 power connector it got going on for some overlocking performance. I haven’t had any issues as far as I noticed to this day with ROPs (verified and I’m GTG) and with normal temperatures and voltages on my power cable to my RTX 5090 too (also verified). Really though, the only con to me after having this video card paired up with my 64GB of RAM and 7800x3d CPU is just the cost, it is a wallet killer for sure and be needing lots of savings to get this really. Lastly, would I recommend this to anyone? Very hard to say because its use is meant for extreme end of things but also not trying to destroy people’s wallets depending where they’re upgrading from.

Walked into the store and ordered it on July 4th. Got it on the 12th. No melting cable and no coil whine. I had a 5090 Zotac that was 2.8k usd a few months ago, but returned it. I love the 5090FE because its lighter and smaller. I bought it mostly to render 3d animations and some gaming. I had a 4080 and the 5090 cuts rendering time about 50%-80%. Alsothat 32GB of VRAM is very nice for both rendering/modeling and for gaming. It should be easier to get now.. prices for AIB is also falling so demand is going down. If you can get an FE, get it!

Best in class GPU for the lowest price - this card is SO hard to get and the best choice for a 5090 if you can get one. It is one of very 5090s you can use in a smaller case. The look and feel is excellent and it uses an innovative cooling design which costs more but is very space efficient. no regrets (outside of paying 2k) LOL
