Incredibly impressed
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Also have the 'other' 4k device. After dealing with issues between Plex off WS2019 server (16-thread VM) and unplayable input lag over Steam (fully Gbe local throughput) with recommended controller, decided to give this a try. Wow! Not only does watching content on LOCALLY RAN Plex outdo a 16-thread server, the upscaling on full disk rips far exceeds anything the 'other' 4k could accomplish. Using Steam with the additional Nvidia controller is playable over WIFI with better performance/less lag than the 'other' device could do over wired. If we didn't have as much of the other ecosystem in the house as we do, this would be our only device needed and still be able to accomplish more.

AI Upscaling is INCREDIBLE!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The one reason, and a very strong reason, to get this streaming device, specifically the pro version, is the AI Upscaling. I watch mostly sports. This upscales 60fps content to 4K, and it does it incredibly. I couldn't believe the quality. You can do a split screen demo mode that shows with and without upscaling. I know it's expensive, but I have 2 huge 4K TVs and this makes streaming content virtually 4K quality. I highly recommend for this reason.

Amazon device but price does hurt.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I felt bad when I brought this because of the price. I hoped it would be a great experience and it is. This is a powerful device and blows my Rokus and Firetvs away. The price is insane and they should have a budget model. The menus are snappy Android TV should be a standard. Easy to configure and works perfect with my HD Homerun and allows me to view DRM copy protected channels over my cable card. This gives me a full tv experience with my Cable channels and my streaming channels married into one device. This is the best streaming OS I have ever used and I have used both Roku and Firetv for years.

Excellent product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product as well worth the money having everything in one area and the picture quality even upscales to 4K. Very impressed with this equipment and the fact that you can play games. The only downfall I would say is trying to Chromecast or mirror your screen it is very difficult to set up and the app cost money on your phone. When you mirror cast it doesn't cast The sound. But I didn't buy this product for that feature I bought it for having all of the apps and the quality and the fact that you can hook an external hard drive for more storage for games you can even download emulators and play PSP games and things like that.

The best
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 4th Shield TV. Simply put, the Nvidia Shield is the best streaming device you can get. Now with the AI uoscaling, my streaming videos look amazing even on my cheaper 4k tcl route TV.

Best Android streaming box around
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its expensive but its the best android streaming box you can get. I also like that it isnt as bloated as the other streaming boxes like the Amazon, and Roku boxes. Its as light as a stock android build you can get. Fast and snappy, doesn't lag. Remote is a huge improvement over the last generation. It will work just fine for most people but the beauty of this unit is when the person knows how to load and tweak it with various streaming apps that are in the play store and some that aren't :) Basically you can make it do more than it was intended to. Movies, shows, games, emulator, use it as a Plex server set up , etc, etc. So many options. Very satisfied with this purchase.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been buying NVIDIA Shield TV since they released probably 2015. I had the first shield even that was just a joystick and a small screen like a PSP and then the Shield Tablet which they should do another one that was an awesome tablet and then i had a few shield tvs and ive been happy with all of em and they just keep getting better i paired it with my 4k tv and i run a plex server i can direct play all my content in 4k UHD HDR 10+ also it upscales 1080 p with this ai tech it uses. also doubles as a game system and can connect to your PCs in the house to game on. Great Device and great price! I also love the newer controllers and remote controls.

Best streaming device hands down
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 is a rock solid purchase for those individuals who are serious about cutting the cable. There's tons of streaming devices out there but this stands has the "holy grail" of streams for a number of different reasons, but the biggest reason is the Tegra X1+ processor which is 25% more powerful than their previous version. This along with 3gb of RAM and the 16gb hard drive make for a buffer free streaming and gaming experience. Two 3.0 USB ports make it easy to add external hard drives for recording, videos, games, and added storage.

Amazing streaming box
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This stream box is the best at what it does plus more. Just the AI upscaling alone makes a huge difference compared to other streaming options like the fire stick, Chromecast, or apple TV. Especially if you have a 4k TV, this thing upscaled content better than most TVs do. Also GeForce now on this thing is amazing, if your in to stream gaming. Hook up a mouse and keyboard/controller and your good to go. Or if you like emulators this thing is a emulator monster, barely breaks a sweat. If you have the the extra money go for the pro, especially if you can find it on sale.

Nvidia Shield Android TV Pro - nice...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice Android box. Easy setup. Very fast performance. USB ports great for adding an external hard drive or USB stick for extra storage or impromptu video playback. LAN PORT is best for streaming 4K content. Installed free VLC app to play MP4 video files located on my other Windows PC's (SMB) shares so I don't need a dedicated network hard drive (NAS) to host video, picture or music files. Only minor negative is there is no dedicated mute button = have to press volume up and volume down at the same time to mute TV sound... Also wish there were discounts on this item every once in awhile as this is my second one (last one bought in 2017 and still going strong).

Easily the best streaming box out there.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking at this, then you probably already know what it is. But just in case you don't, this is the Gold Standard of streaming boxes, as NVIDIA Shield has been for the last 5 years or so. The new remote is incredible and very easy to use. You can even use this thing to play games on the cloud with Geforce NOW, or locally using games from the App Store. Heck, you can even connect an N64 controller to this bad boy and play some retro emulators! You could even set this thing up with external storage and host your own Plex server. This thing does it all! I literally have one on every TV in my house now...

Stop reading reviews. Just got one!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say about the NVIDIA Shield Android TV Pro? Buy it! Enough said. No really though, the AI upscaling is worth it alone. I don't even use it for gaming and I find it fully worth it's cost based on the media capabilities. Supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, Atmos, DTS-X, etc. I've been running this version for nearly two years now and have never had an issue. There's also an active reddit specific to the Shield TV if you do ever run into problems. NVIDIA seems to release updates regularly.

I like it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up an Nvidia Shield TV about a month ago and it’s been rock solid so far. Mostly been using it for IPTV and it handles streams flawlessly. smooth playback, no lag. It’s an older device but doesn’t feel outdated at all. I haven’t dived into emulation yet, but that’s next on my list and I’ve heard it’s great for that too. Overall, super happy with it.

NVIDIA Shield random reebot
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This streaming device was great for about 1.5 years. It started randomly rebooting, which would then turn everything thing else on and raise the projector screen. Apparently this is a known issue. NVIDIA support had me trouble shoot for 2 weeks and then sent a new power supply to test. When that didn't fix the problem, they had me return the device and sent a replacement. Just got the replacement yesterday. Hopefully this one doesn't also have random reboot issues.

An improvement to the 2017 Shield
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 2019 Shield Tv Pro is a little faster than my 2017 Shield. And the Ai upscaling does a good job as well. Plus it has Dolby Vision capabilities. I certainly like it better than my Apple TV 4K.

Nvidia Shield Pro
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.100% happy with Nvidia Shield. Only minor fault is the picture if item looks like it is on a stand, (I think previous model came with a stand.) Because of lack of room, I can't lay it flat, I found a stand online and it works perfectly.

Nice Incremental Upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice improvement over previous version. AI enhanced processing helps with some content. Snappier response from new chip. The basics are still the same but no game pad. The new remote is an improvement. Overall, it's not a required update but if you run the Plex Server and have older media, the extra HP will make a difference with transcoding and AI. I offloaded Plex to a Synology NAS and I'm enjoying the faster app response times with Netflix, Hulu, etc...
