Square Enix delivered a pure love letter to the golden era of JRPGs with this title. 8 characters with 8 fully realized stories. Everything about this title feels nostalgic from the character designs to the music. I can’t recommend this game enough for fans of JRPGs (prepare to grind levels to beat bosses) like Chrono Trigger and Saga Frontier.

If you are a fan of the old style JRPGs then this game is must for your collection. It has a pleasant mix of classic graphics along with new which makes for a good experience. This game has not disappointed me and brings back memories both good and bad regarding JRPGs. I believe you can download a demo of this game and would recommend you try that first and then decide if the game is one you would like to have in your collection.

While I'm only about 15 hours into the game, so far I'm really enjoying it. It reminds me of the classic NES/SNES era JRPGS with a few modern takes, and an engaging combat system. Definitely give it a try!

There are many RPGs making a comeback and changing how things are played but have mostly gone away into the open worlds and 3d graphics. However, this goes back to the snes roots that kick up nostalgia. Gameplay is modern despite its looks. You cannot play this game based solely on old gameplay but it is never outside the rpg realms. Honestly, just play it if you ever even like rpgs a little. Finish all the stories though!

Modern graphics and an awesome battle system make this the best jrpg to come out in a long time.

The art style is awesome. The battle system is fun. Weaving in 8 stories has me grinding away.

This game reminds me of playing the old JRPGs from the 90s. The stories are well-written, and the battles are fun. There is still a bit too much grinding required, but that's really the only gripe i have.

Going into this game is like your first time playing an old school RPG from the 16 bit days. Graphically the game is very beautiful and if you're even a little familiar with how RPGs played back on the SNES you should feel at home for the most part. The game does have some different things going on but it's a real fun game and I could recommend this even if you're a beginner since the game explains everything pretty well.

Great RPG that was desperately needed at the time. I've put a lot of hours into this game. The combat is great, along with the art style. However, the story is a bit stale, still worth the purchase.

This game came fast and in great condition. This was my first game order from Best Buy and I see now why many people order from them. It came the next day with free shipping and I couldn't be happier!! This game is also an amazing game. I couldn't recommend it more even if I tried lol. It's a traditional JRPG with loads of content that will make you feel as if it were one from the good ole days.

I haven't made it very far, but the style and the game play are very reminiscent of the old 8 bit rpgs. It is a well put together game and is perfect for any low key gamer who enjoys story.

I am really enjoying Octopath Traveler. The Combat has some unique twists on JRPG combat tropes, and the story lines are compelling, even if they could be better integrated with each other.
