I wanted a set of VR goggles and I loved that this was standalone and the price is amazing (I got the 64g memory). It’s SO fun and such a totally immersive experience, I have so much fun exploring the games, landscapes and shows. Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Amazon video all look wonderful on it. Yes, as everyone says, the battery life isn’t long but that really doesn’t matter because it charges pretty quickly and you should be taking a break every few hours anyways, for the sake of your eyeballs and mental health, haha. But yes, it was really worth the money for me and I’m so glad I got it.

    GREAT option for easy VR

This is easily the most ideal option for virtual reality that is quick and easy to use. There are two types of VR. The heavy-duty gaming VR that requires a serious computer, sensors, set up, etc., and then there's the more casual and portable VR. This is the casual VR, but don't let that fool you, it is still a completely incredible and fun experience! If you are a hardcore gamer, you will probably gravitate toward systems like the Rift, Vive, or Playstation VR, but otherwise Oculus Go has everything you need. I have played with VR headsets for a couple of years, starting with a cheap, generic headset for android, then moving to the 2nd generation Gear VR, and then the Oculus Go. I have found myself using the Go daily for two reasons- ease of use, and as technology has advanced, virtual social integration has added a new world of possibility to casual VR. The Oculus Go and Gear VR both run what is basically the same platform/interface/store. In fact, the apps I purchased on my Gear VR transfered to my Go. The big difference is that you don't have to install your phone into the headset which alleviates a hassle as all the hassles that come with multi-purposing your phone. Originally, I couldn't see myself justifying buying a Go when I already had the Gear VR, but now I would recommend that purchase to anyone. It doesn't seem like a big deal to slap your phone into a headset and start it up, but in reality, that extra little bit of hassle stops you from playing with it as much, and receiving calls and notifications constantly while in VR is frustrating. The Go is just so much easier to use, and well designed. Comfortable, even with glasses on, solid built in stereo speakers, and the remote control tracking is much better than what I experienced with the Gear VR. I bring my Go to work with me and people are AMAZED when they try it out. It surprises me how many people haven't experienced VR yet, but I think the Go is the type of product that will shift that. At $200 ($250 for the 64 gb version) it is absolutely worth the money. The thing that is really about to change things is the social integration. We are now at the point where with the Go and an app like Altspace VR, you can actually explore different environments and meet people from around the world. (People are represented by customizable avatars). You can speak with them, play games with them, host events and throw parties, watch movies, attend concerts, film festivals, everything. It's totally incredible, and adds so much more value to the VR experience beyond playing games (although those are fun too!) Last thing to mention- I purchased the 64 gb version for $250 instead of the 32. In terms of storage, I have nearly 60 apps/games downloaded to it plus two full length 3-D movies and I still have 27.5 gb of space left! I like having all of that space, but really, if you can only afford $200 for the 32gb, you will be just fine. This is a great time to jump into VR, and the Go is a great product to do it with.

I can't get away from playing so fun and so many options for game and apps. The whole family loves it and plays all the time we are about to buy two more one for my oldest daughter and my wife so we can play together. The games are not expensive some are free and some cost but most is like $9.99 and most are worth it. I recommend it to everyone I see.

The head elastic strap in one of the side comes loose when I take off from my head every time use (between the connection elastic strap and the Head set) , so I’m disappointed with the quality of the product.

Stay away from this product. It is a lot of fun but I have had mine for 60days and there’s a red line in the screen. I have put a ticket in the oculus system do to Best Buy’s return policy and still have heard nothing. I am a lite user with 10 hours of total play time with the unit and already have a problem. Stay far away or buy the warranty from Best Buy

I have done several iterations of VR, from the desktop versions (Rift and Vive), the Samsung VR, Google Cardboard, and one of those cheap headsets for cellphones that you can buy anywhere now. I've been dying for this to take off since I first experienced VR back in the early 90's when I was in college and tried out a unit with the massive helmet and a ringed stand to keep you in place. All the PC units are great if you: want to spend a ton of money on a computer powerful enough to run VR and the VR system. The cell phone based ones pretty much stink all around. While some are better than others they always have issues that make them pretty unusable in the long term. The Oculus go, has all the equipment built in, a stable operating system, a pretty good store with some great apps, a comfortable headset, and all at a pretty good price. I have to say that I'm a nerd and have just been having fun doing the apps that take you to places that I would probably never go (the wilds of Argentina, Egypt, or some far flung museum) or never could go (the app that lets you zoom through a human body or around a stellar nursery). It has been worth the price of admission just to do those apps, and I find that I'm finding more and more things to do with the headset unlike some of the others. I don't get motion sick, and have only had one app make me feel even remotely 'blah' and that was one of the roller-coaster apps that wasn't all that much fun in the first place. Everything else has been pretty solid. I like how the app store will tell you the 'comfort' level of an app and whether it might make a sensitive person nauseous. The only drawback that I have found with this is that I am getting to the point where I need reading glasses (which is a bummer in its own right) but it has made a few instances a bit blurrier than they could be. Now this unit lets you purchase inserts to counter this but perhaps an actual focus knob could have helped. Granted, this may have caused issues with the optics in other ways (peripheral view, chromatic aberrations, etc.), but I'm not sure I want to plunk down more money on lenses that a corrected for me. That being said, they are charging a relatively reasonable price for them. All in all, I am extremely happy with where things are going with VR and with the Oculus Go in particular. I would definitely get the 64gb version because some of these apps and videos can take up quite a bit of space. There is word that they will soon allow you to use a usb drive with a micro-usb plug to add on some storage, but if you are really hurting for space you can link up a DropBox account for some cloud storage. I wish they would add some other types of cloud storage because I have a boatload of space on one of the other providers. Been having a ton of fun with this device and I can't wait for the next version.

    Two Thumbs Up

I bought Oculus Go on launch day and the more I play with it, the more I like it with the exception of one thing… Battery Life. First thing that struck me was that the visual fidelity of the unit is really good, video (especially 360 video) is world’s better than the Rift. Game graphics feel mobile level, but the overall clarity of the GO’s optics / lens more than make up for it. I picked up a few games and while they are on the arcade / shallow side, they are all super fun for 20-25 min play sessions. Tried out the Netflix and Plex apps and both performed really well including 3D movies that worked perfectly (WiFi feels really zippy on the GO). The only glaring flaw for me is the battery life, 2-2.5 hours is just not enough juice, that is barely enough time to watch a movie. I see myself using this thing on planes for longer trips and the battery life makes that use case a real problem, but overall, I’m giving the Oculus GO 4 Stars and a thumbs up. It’s not as robust as it’s older brother (The Rift) or the PSVR or Vive, but $249 (64GB) for a proper on the GO VR gaming experience feels like a super value.

You don't need cables or a computer to start using this. This device is also good for kids when you want to show them something cool. It is also good for introverts. You can meet a lot of amazing people on Oculus go! I own a lot of technology and know when a piece of tech is good. This technology for the price is basically unbeatable. I recommend movie lovers to watch movies on the oculus go as well. It feels like a movie theatre and you don't have to visit a real theatre for a long time. I have the 64gb version of the Oculus Go. It's all worth it.

I think this is an awesome device. You may find shortcomings with it, but that depends on your expectations. Firstly, I think it is important to note the content available in the Oculus Store (for lack of a better term) is very reasonably priced. Any given day, there is at least one highly rated title that is heavily discounted. Because of this it is very easy to rapidly build up a library of games and 3D "experiences." This is why I went with the 64GB. If there is one complaint I have about this device, it's the lack of expandable storage. The graphics are good considering the internals are the equivalent of a mid-range phone. I've heard people compare the graphics to a Playstation 2. What they don't realize is that we're not just rendering a 720x480 image, we're rendering a 360 degree environment, and the amount of processing it takes to do that (along with all the real time input from the sensors detecting your head and hand movement) is staggering for a mobile device. So yes, graphically, we're not talking about a 4k PC game running on a GTX 1080 ti. All of this is happening while using less than 10 watts of power, so yes, there are limitations. But, for the money, the ability to own a device that is literally VR on the go is more than reasonable to me. It only has 3 DoF instead of 6 DoF, so there's no room scaling. The objective was obviously to make an affordable portable VR headset. Oculus did just that.

My first VR experience was with my daughter’s Oculus Rift. I was hooked on VR. The rift with it’s controllers that let you grasp things, highly detailed VR. My opinion for the Gamer, Oculus Rift is the best around...but for my wife and I an older couple, we are not going to buy and be tethered to a top of the line computer with a screaming processor and special graphics card and have to have the sensors and accessories set up properly. After hundreds of reviews, I selected the Oculus Go. It is incredible, it is a standalone system that you do not have to put a phone in, don’t have to hook up to a computer. The graphics are good but not as crisp as the Rift but is so much easier to use. I pick it up, put it on my head, power up and a screen shows up asking me to point my controller at the targetand push a button and my controller is zeroed. I am then transported into a VR world. I was astonished and could do nothing at first but turn around and take in the scenery. I experimented with a couple games but found a new found love for 360 degree Videos. I was scrolling through looking at what came loaded with the Go and hit upon a 360 video of a scene in Mama Mia 2. I pushed the button and instantly transported to a the middle of the scene in London meeting the young Harry Headbanger. It was like I was there in the action. You really need to sit in a swivel chair to maximize your views. I felt like I was in the movie, absolutely incredible. I wanted my wife to try, she had been looking at some live cams of the northern lights on her iPad...In the headset, did a simple search for aurora borealis and booted it up, I gave my wife the headset and she put it on. Sitting in a swivel chair she kept slowly turning around, looking up and down and constantly saying “wow”, “Oh, my God” over and over with awe in her voice. I couldn’t get the headset back until she ran down the battery (lasts about 2 hours and takes 2 hours to recharge). If you are a gamer and buy the Oculus Go to play games, you will be disappointed you need to instead buy the Oculus Rift...but if you are like the wife and I and want to enjoy going around the world and experiencing thousands of wonders we may never see, then The Oculus Go is for you. If you want to be on the stage for live events and feel part of the band, buy the Go. If you want to watch Netflix and YouTube on a super personal widescreen, buy the Go. Oh yes, forget to tell you, it has built in audio that is pretty dang good without plugging in earphones. If you want simple to operate, untethered immersive VR experience anywhere, anytime I recommend you buy the Oculus Go. Absolutely incredible VR, I love it.

This is the Best Portable VR out in the market right now. I love how everything is a standalone contained unit. No need to plug in your cellphone and setup before use. It's pick up and your ready to Go. I price is very affordable and if you like to store videos then I recommend the 64GB version. The only negative is the battery drains fast. Get get about 2 hours of continual use before you have to recharge.

I really like using the gear. It has fun apps, games, and watching videos is fun. Some apps are better than others. It does not have resolution as good as other devices, but it has the best stand alone performance. I like Netflix and some of the shooter games best. Plus watching videos on 360 VR YouTube is pretty fun.
