    Great Tools and Features

Office 365 is a wonderful tool to use. The entire Microsoft suite is there, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Publisher. There are new features, such as customizations to ribbons, new templates to use and a sleeker design. The bonus to this is, you may back up your files with the included 1TB of cloud storage so that you can open your work, on the go, on any device. As long as you can log in to your Microsoft account from any computer with internet, you can download the file and continue working on a different PC, or you can work on the file directly online. Again, this is a very nice feature because it eliminates the use of a flash drive. The one issue that I feel Microsoft missed with 365 is the use of the annual subscription. Once you purchase the 365 pack, you need to renew your subscription, again, the following year of your purchase date. This to me is the worst decision Microsoft made. Yes, all of that cloud storage and access you have on-the-go is terrific, but it is quite costly. Especially if you have to renew your subscription each year. Yes, in order for you to continue using the Microsoft suite to edit files, you need to renew your subscription. You definitely keep your files, and you can open them. However, do not expect to reopen and work on your files after the subscription ends after one-year unless you plan to renew. Overall, the suite is still functional and the features and options are wonderful. However, where Microsoft failed is having people pay every year to use their software, which to me is the worst decision Microsoft made.

Not so great "install" on a great product

I have had Microsoft Office on my home computers as long as I can remember. I used 'Word' and 'Excel' every day as well as 'Outlook' and 'Power Point'. My wife uses Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point extensively in her job as an Educator. This year, I was in "Best Buy" and happened to see the Office 365 for home use so I bought it. Then I remembered I had automatic renewal so got online and cancelled the Auto Renewal. Boy was that a mistake. It has now been about six weeks and after working with customer support for hours and hours I still do not have a functioning copy. I even had Microsoft support take over my computer and install it on One of my three Macs and 1 PC. As soon as the computer was turned off for the night; nothing works! Now, I have hundreds of files I cannot read and even mail I cannot access. If there were anything comparable I would not hesitate to use it. Unfortunately, I write for a living and simply cannot afford to try reformatting everything. I should mention that in the middle of all this, I Microsoft started requiring double passwords on their products but so far, no luck in having Microsoft recognizing new passwords.

    Office is getting layered

First time to try the 365 version of Office. I like the convenience and updates online without keeping up with another CD to load, but the light, low contrast and page layout of Outlook slows down the scanning of emails in my Inbox and other folders. I prefer the single line, black text in straight columns as before (Office 2007-sorry, I'm slow to upgrade). It also seems to be too much to strap on to this older technology all the new features and technology of online, live and SEO systems like the Google/Gmail enterprise. It just seems to be stacking changes and new capabilities in layers without a lot of smooth interaction. It really slows down my machine. The price was great for 5 licenses and it gives me a full-up capability for one year to allow me to decide if I'll stick with Office as I have since the beginning or finally drop it for a new generation of technology. When it became too hard to put two gmail accounts into the older Outlook, I was already on my way to shifting away from Office because now I have to go online to check one Gmail account and the other is my primary in Outlook. If I do drop Office I will greatly miss the sorting and searching ability of Outlook over Gmail, etc. I would still recommend it, with caution.

    Good Programs, a little pricey

I am a regular Excel and Word user. I rarely use Publisher or Powerpoint and almost never Access. But there are things you just can't do with Google Docs and Sheets/etc that you need the MS programs for. The subscription model is a little new for me. I have gotten used to buying a computer preloaded w/ Office for life. 6 computers for a year is not too bad. I am a big fan of Excel, anything you need with formulas, sorting, lists, spreadsheets it's a go to. I use Word when needed but formatting always gives me headaches so I revert to Excel unless I need a format only Word can offer. Definitely a good pack of programs but I'd prefer this price for a purchase model rather than subscription, even if it were for fewer computers.

Not what I thought I was getting

I thought I was getting Office 365 that could be shared with 6 people all who would have their own account. What I got was 1 Office 365 account that could be shared across 6 devices. Meaning if I wanted to share it with other family members, they would all have to use the same username and password and all of our stuff would be housed in the same place. I should have purchased the single user that was cheaper. Live and learn Office 365 is a wonderful product. Just not happy with the 'sharing' system. I would and have recommended office 365, I would not recommend getting more expensive one to share unless a person worked on multiple devices regularly. Just not worth it in my opinion.

Mine is a mixed marriage (Apple and Microsoft). The wife is Microsoft. I bought Office 365 because we need to communicate and share. Thanks to the competitive spirit inherent in Capitalism, that enhances and complicates our daily lives, the makers of Apple and Microsoft seek to build profit by making their products proprietary. Sharing across operating systems is not only frowned upon, it is actively sabotaged. The associates at Best Buy convinced me that Office 365 was what I am looking for to allow for sharing across operating systems. I seem to be generating more questions and problems as I try to work out a system that will be simple and inexpensive to operate. Back again, then, to the Best Buy Geeks. In the meanwhile, the Apple people address my problem by speaking only in Applese. Can't we all just get along?

I wanted to have Office on several devices. I have a Dell desktop, Microsoft Surface Pro 3, Lumia 1520 Windows phone and an iPad now I can use all of this devices to work on projects at home or work. The program work well though the download is more detailed than the online version. The convenience of has been very helpful. As a novice user I’m probably not using the programs to the fullest so there’s a lot to learn. I rated the product as average because I thought the online version would be the same as the download after I purchased Office 365 and it’s not. There is quite a bit of lag and it defiantly is not the same. I’m glad I went with the Home version instead of the Personal version, now I can download the program on all my devices and sync the projects to the cloud.

One can't imagine having a computer or laptop without Microsoft Office, but manage your subscriptions carefully. When you purchase this, you must provide a credit/debit card for an auto renew subscription. After purchasing, I realized that I had an existing subscription from a previous purchase that I could transfer. However, after 15 days and not using the registration key on this product, I received a "prorated" refund of half of what I paid. Think about that...50% prorated refund for 15/365 days of a subscription I never activated. No, Bill Gates won't send me $0.10 for each email I forward to make up the difference.

    Seamless install w/Windows Problems w/Mac

The software I purchased had 3 licenses good for Windows or Mac. I had no problems installing this software on my new HP. However, I had major issues w/Mac. I called Microsoft customer service and they told me I must have a virus and wanted to sell me an annual subscription for $300+. They said I could not install Office until they fixed my Mac. I didn’t feel comfortable doing that. I called Apple and they had me run a scan and said there was nothing wrong with my laptop. They walked me through installing the software that took forever and never ended up downloading the entire Suite. I would recommend this software for Windows based computers but not Apple.

Needed the program for my new computer and the Best Buy salesman suggested this because I needed to also install it on other computers. I followed instructions, this was not the first time installing new programs on computers. This Office is just strange, maybe it's just me. Your work isn't save as usual, there is no "save as" feature, it either gets saved on computer in pdf form or on a cloud. Maybe I did something wrong, maybe someone can help me. All I wanted was a Office Program I could use, I'm quite use to the differences with new programs but this one is too different. I am not happy with this. Opened to any suggestions of how to fix this problem.

The setup seemed to go smoothly. Although I’m not sure if selecting the ‘up to 6 people’ was necessary. I have it downloaded on my MacBook Pro for me and my husband is a user of the same laptop. Also, I don’t know how to add it to our iPhones. The only thing that I saw so far is for an extra charge. So, still figuring it out. As for the product itself, the only thing I’ve tried is to make labels or try to print directly on an envelope and it’s complocated. No real Microsoft help unless you look separately online to find directions.

Most Office 365 apps are equivalent to 'full' (expensive) Office, but NOT Outlook. You cannot create email address groups nor send to a group. Instead you must select individual addressees. Nor can you assign an email to a category. PLEASE! These are ANCIENT capabilities and MS cant figure out how to include them?. You do get the ability to see multiple web email accounts in a single, easily managed email app. Fortunately Word, Excel, Powerpoint are identical to full up Office. You do get Access database app. I will not renew unless MS can figure out how to release a fully functional email app. I have gone back to web gemail.

So, another way to get more money for users. Still a good product and I like that I can put it on my iPAD, Surface 3, and base station computer. My biggest concern is that they raise the subscription price over time. I do prefer just to license software the old way. But it and use it. When you want to upgrade, you pay for it.... So, not a big fan of the business model but the software makes me more productive. They still need to do a better job integrating photo editing into the core product. They get an F rating for not recognizing this as a core feature that one time or another we all need to do that.

Most people have used Microsoft Office for years, not much has changed, but it is now much easier to manage multiple computers and users under one account, that part is the part that is nice. Also it is nice that you get 1Tb of cloud storage with the subscription. This package is great if you have several computers in the house and they all need office on them. Otherwise its the same great office applications that you are use to using so no learning vastly different ways of working on things.

Not the biggest fan of how Microsoft nickles and dimes its users. This is the standard "Word" that you basically need for school/work/etc. There are cheaper versions, but if you are like me (5+ computer/devices) this is the most affordable way to go. It has a little bit better functions that the 2013 version (especially when moving between platforms such as taking an excel graph into power point). The online version does NOT have Microsoft Access, so make sure to get either 2016 pc or this (365 5-devices) if you need to use Access.

Do not like the subscription requirement every year-- just to get updates. It is not for me, I suppose it is useful for families with multiple computers. This version has multiple licenses but updates every year are really not necessary. On the "up-side" the programs are reliable and easy to use just like the older version on my desktop! I gave it a 3- star only because of the subscription issue which is a personal issue not because of the way it works...If you want to use Office-- just pay for the single license version or evaluate your needs before purchasing the subscription/ license version.

I prefer Office over the competition. In my opinion, it is far better than Open Office. As an example, I push PowerPoint to the limits. For me, the Open Office version crashes all the time. I have lost and had to redo hours of work. Not so with PowerPoint. Plus, I'm just comfortable with the apps. I use them at work, so why not at home? But being forced into a subscription is a huge negative. I prefer to buy once, install on my and my daughter's PCs, and use the same version for years. That's not so easy anymore. The licensing had become overly complicated and costly.

I bought this software thinking that I could put it on several computers in my office. I installed it on 2 computers and then it would not allow me to install again. When I tried to complete the installation on the 3rd computer I received a call from someone saying that the were a authorized tech for Microsoft. He told me that he would like to take over my computer and help me out. I let him and then asked about how much this was going to cost me. He hung up after this call. As a result I have used all 5 of my installs and cannot put it on any other computers.

Hello Chainman, Microsoft will never call regarding Office installation useless you have gone to our website and requested a call. Also, if you have only installed Office 365 Home on 2 PCs, that would mean you have 3 PC installs left on your subscription. There is no way to use them up unless you are actively using them on other PCs. Please contact us directly using one of these methods; Support Web Portal: www.Support.Microsoft.com . Technical Support: Call 1-877-696-7786 . We apologize for any frustration the Office 365 installation process has caused, and we hope this was helpful to you. Microsoft

There are no significant added features to this version compared to so many previous versions. Microsoft completely messed up my subscription and it took an hour on the phone with support to straighten out the mess they created. It's exactly the kind of ineptitude I expect when I buy Microsoft products and it was the impetus behind my switching to devices made by Apple. Unfortunately, Apple doesn't make a product that is as good as Office, hence I am forced to continue dealing with Microsoft as objectionable as that might be to me.

I needed this program in order to access and send out my resume, as well as be able to read and edit spreadsheets for a Six Sigma class. There's little choice you have when it comes to spreadsheets and Word documents. So I'm stuck, being forced to buy a monopolized products. Microsoft doesn't mix with Google Docs, Google doesn't mix with Apple, Apple doesn't mix with Microsoft, So yeah me! It is what it is, a year by year rental of Microsoft Office.
