      Hey there,

With Office Home & Student 2019, you are able to receive software updates. You'll need to manually install these updates, however. Additionally, you can purchase Outlook as a standalone app from the Microsoft store to add to your existing software.

      We hope that helps!

The included programs cover the most necessary needs for those who are not computer experts. The only problem - the card isn't specific about the included programs and I didn't realize it doesn't have Outlook.

Had to purchase this MS Home Office because it did not come with my new computer, which is a shame because it just adds a lot more to the cost. Plus this expensive package does not include Outlook. the only reason why I would recommend this product to a friend is because you really don't have a choice.

The Microsoft Outlook in this package is a bare bones application; I guess you have to buy the full version to manage your emails, and have all the other features I was used to on my old laptop. The worst part is you can't create NEW folders to store your emails. I guess I will have to buy an upgrade.

Doesn't have the same icons that I'm used to with other windows programs. Outlook is not included. Had I known this I wouldn't have bought it.

This was my first time installing and using office 2019. Microsoft has changed a few things on the installation process with the idea it would prevent people from getting more than one copy of office installed on their PC. However it caused multiple issues preventing me from installing a copy of Outlook provided by an employer. The installer does not allow you to install Microsoft Office as well as Standalone Office Products such as a copy of Outlook or PowerPoint that is purchased separately. It also won't let you install office via the Internet and then use a disc or download to install another program as it restricts you from using multiple types of media. I called Microsoft about this and they had no solutions. So when you buy office 2019 buy the version that includes everything you need or you won't be able to add single products later. I ended up using Thunderbird for email even though I had a paid copy of Outlook available to me. It seems that over the last couple versions of office more and more compatibility and installation issues have started to occur.

I purchased this with the need for outlook as well as excell. To my disappointment this product does not have outlook under its liscencing. I was lead to believe that it had all of the Microsoft office programming. Why else would it be called Microsoft office home and student? Don't students and home users need email?

I've been using the 2011 version of office since it came out. I was pleasantly surprised with the updated bells and whistles and compatibility. This version contains excel, PowerPoint, and word, all of which I use daily for my home-based job. I also usually use outlook, so I was disappointed this version did not include it, but there are serviceable alternatives available in the Microsoft AppStore so I'm not upset over that. What programs it does include are very helpful.

This version of Office comes with Word, Powerpoint, and Excel, which is all I wanted, however I was adding this to a new laptop that came with an Office 2016 Trial that had been pre-installed. The instructions say to uninstall previous versions of Office before installing this one. After doing that, my new laptop boots with an error message that says there is no default mail client, and I need to open MS Outlook to make it the default mail client. Unfortunately, there is no way to do that, because this version does not have Outlook. The previous version was removed with the un-installation of Office 2016 per their instructions. Based on an online search for solutions, it appears this is a common problem. Of course, I reached out to Microsoft, and they acted as though they had never heard of the issue. They attempted to resolve the issue via remote support and the message subsided for a couple days. Then it started showing up again inconsistently, which is mind boggling. Sometimes it will show up, other times it won't. Excel, Word, and PPT are fine. The Outlook error message this caused is simply annoying. I probably should have stuck with Office 2016.

Office without outlook - Worst product ever

Recently purchased this since it was an one time payment and for single device. Didn't really know that there could be an office product without having all the applications in it. Bought a new lenovo x1 carbon with windows 10 pro and tried using this software product. After scratching the card and installing it I realize that it doesn't include outlook etc., highly frustrated. . :-( Even more frustrated to know that best buy won't accept a return after scratching the card. . Though microsoft was ready to process an refund only if I purchased this through microsoft website. . I have completely uninstalled the software and informed Microsoft about it as well. $119 worth of junk. . Don't know what to do with this. . Please do not purchase this unless you know what you are getting out of it.

I am a causal user of the MS Office products dating back several years. I've had limited previous experience with Word, Power Point and Excel both on MAC and Windows operating systems. First: Installation. After logging in to the MS account, it went fairly smoothly although it did take some time at my internet speed to download the program. Nevertheless, it was accomplished on one setting and it downloaded and worked. Second: It's a perpetual subscription, no annual fee or renewal costs although it lacks updates and new features offered on their subscription services. It also lacks Outlook, Publisher and Access applications and it limited to download on just one device. Hopefully MS will continue to offer this type of service for those who need only the "basic" or "essential" applications. Third: importing files from previous version was no problem and it went smoothly. Fourth: It contains the essentials: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. My experience with Word, Power Point, Excel was intuitive based on experience with prior versions. The spell check and grammar check functions work well. Summary: It was a welcome update to the previous versions, remained intuitive with new features for those who want to explore and build on the classic use.
