bought it for a friend and they liked it so much .

I was seated fifteen feet away from the speakers at a funeral recently and the digital noise was too much to add to the DSLR video. An onboard digital compensator or shotgun mic would serve far better.

Poor audio quality and very short battery life when recording, for the price. Very disappointed with the quality of the audio.

I was at a very important seminar that we were only allowed to audio record, this had good reviews so i went with it. It died 30 minutes into the seminar after being told this would last hours. So i had to wait until break which wasn’t until lunch to charge missing out on a ton of information. Only for it to happen again with brand new batteries AGAIN. Waste of money ended up just recording with my phone.

This unit can't reduce the music input. Under playback, the music a very distorted. Very disappointing.

It is fine for quick recordings but turns off automatically after too short of time.

I was looking for something to record meetings or lectures with and easy to use. This recorder was not what I needed at all because it is hard to record anything greater than a couple of feet and hear it for later use. It is also very easy to erase whatever was recorded.

The recorder battery does not hold a charge for more than one hour

hard to figure out to use. tried every recording mode and horrible background noise on recording. returned! wasn't worth the money on sale, let alone full price.

This item worked great until it ran out of charge, then it turned off and would not recharge.same thing happen with replacement. I finally went with another brand.

poor quality sound. stopped working after approximately 3 months. changing batteries did not help.

The recorder just doesn't work as expected. The clerk who helped mw was truly very good BUT when something you expect to do the job and doesn't is just disappointing.

Returned ,recording is not great as per voice sound & quality.

We never did get this to work for listening to bird calls or for a board meeting that we have every month.

Poor recording quality. Terrible volume capability. Almost no ability to record over 4 feet away.

I normally don't write reviews, but I was so disappointed with Sony and am so thrilled about the Olympus recorder. I had ordered a Sony recorder that is comparable to this. It was about $55. It was the most complicated thing to set up and in the end didn't work with mac as advertised. For another $25 I picked this up and am so thrilled. Much more user friendly and works as soon as you plug it into the computer and opens files up in iTunes automatically. No need to download any drivers etc.. Couldn't have asked for anything more convenient. The sound is very crisp too. I used the Sony in my lecture and all I could hear is the professors voice in the distance with white noise in the background. This Olympus recorder only picks up the voice and is very clear. I will definitely be recommending this to my friends. You won't be disappointed with this recorder. (I use this on my macbook air)

Used for recording doctors phone calls for my treatment plan. When I'm too emotional to listen it does the listening for me.
